Visited this restaurant twice last week, having read previous reviews. Both times we were met with friendly service and the food was excellent, hence the second visit! The prices are also very reasonable with a wide choice of dishes, so I would recommend. However! I do understand the recent negative review about the long wait. We ate early (6.30) both times which was just about ok on the waiting front, but while we were there saw a lot of people arrive and be seated and then wait, and wait...not helped on the second occasion by the long queue of people waiting to pick up takeaways. The staff seemed to be working very hard but just too many customers for them to handle at once and definitely needed some organisation. Admittedly it was Easter week and everywhere was super busy but they need to learn when to say 'no more' so that they can serve their existing customers.
I would still go back though - excellent food!

We didn't book. We turned up at around 6pm and there were plenty of free tables. Soon the place filled up completely. Compared to some of the other Italian restaurants in the city, this one was definitely with better food. You can generally tell by the time you wait for our food. It was reasonable and it was delicious. Drinks + main + dessert cost us 60 euro for 3 people. And let me just say again that the service was excellent. We didn't have to wait hours for our bill and things were dealt with efficiently. We went to another restaurant the next evening and we regretted not coming back to this one.

We went there 3 nights in a row and were never disappointed.. in fact the staff kept raising the standard each time we went back!
Would thoroughly recommend the Beef carpaccio to start ( we had that all 3 nights), the fillet steaks were cooked impeccably and cut like butter!
Beautiful feather light Tiramisu and free lemoncello chasers after every meal.
Now for the staff- they are warm and welcoming, the restaurant is so cosy you feel instantly at home.
Go when you are there- if you are staying at or near Sloterdijk, you will not be disappointed.

We visited La Casa Di Michael for dinner. We ordered drinks and food. The drinks arrived, however after 50 minutes of waiting for food and other tables being served around us, we enquired about how much longer our food would be - informing them that we had a flight to catch. The wait staff reassured us that it was coming right away. After another 10 minutes, we enquired again. This time the wait staff did enquire in the kitchen as we saw heard and saw the chef and wait staff have an argument about our order. It had been forgotten. We were delivered a bill for the drinks and an excuse that the order machine had broken. We left hungry and without an apology. Terrible service from all involved.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. It started with the waitress walking away when she was supposed to be seating us. We were then told it was not possible to have a glass of either tap water or hot water. The service at the table was extremely rude. Unnecessarily passing glasses and dishes across in front of people seated at the table.
On top of that, the food was very disappointing.

Good food (pizza and pasta) for a nice price! The staff was friendly. They made gluten free pasta on request. The first server we met did not know what gluten was, but he got one of the other servants who could help us. They make cocktails, even tho they dont have it in their menu.

Visited here twice over the past weekend, a lucky find the first night, we arrived in the city very late and they were very accommodating. Food was so good we returned on the Sunday too.
There were 6 of us and everyone was delighted with their choices, between pasta dishes, steaks and pizza there was nothing to fault. The Sicilian pizza was to die for.
Cozy friendly atmosphere. Excellent value for money.
I wish I could pick the whole restaurant up and take it home with me!

I will minute by minute explain my experience. We are in the car looking for a place to eat at 7.35 and we stumble upon this beauty. 600 reviews? 4.5 stars? So we decided to look at their website. We thought since it was already the same day and the restaurant seemed popular it would be all reserved. It wasn’t. We reserved a spot for 8.30. It worked! The restaurant was fuming with life but there still were a few free spots. So we sat down at the table. No quicker then one minute after there was someone willing to assist us. We ordered a Cannelloni, a fancy looking pizza and some spare ribs with a bbq sauce and to top it off tiramisu. It went all without a hitch. It was all delicious. Since I am vegetarian I only know about the Cannelloni but I have some quotes from my mates. The cannelloni: “Delicious and pleasantly fresh. “Just out of the oven and boiling hot! It makes it feel like they make it as good as possible. “ “I’m not sure, it was definitely good but the spinach pieces are kind of homogeneous and not very good, overall tasty however. The pizza: “You can’t go wrong with the Quattro Stagioni.” “Decent and good crust” The spareribs: “Decent and kind of boring” “The Spareribs we’re quite delicious but I was expecting boneless ribs. I liked the fries however. Otherwise if I had the choice I would order the Ribeye, superb tho it was 26 euros.” Tiramisu: “I’ve never had one of these before and quite enjoyed it!” “They made the desert like it should be, tastes like strong chocolate coffee taste and very puffy. “It’s good but not very special.” Serving:5/5, Food 4.5/5, Value 4/5.

I can't comment about the quality of the food as I wasn't going to wait an hour for a table despite booking months in advance. I was offered a seat outside but the heaters weren't even on. Staff really didn't care at all and despite waiting 15 minutes we weren't even asked if we wanted a drink. We weren't the only ones either, there were at least 2 other groups of people that had reservations that had been ignored

As two couples, we spent 5 days at the XO Hotel Park West. On the first evening we discovered this restaurant close by and decided to eat there. The staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming. The steak was excellent and reasonably priced. All four meals were good. We decided to re-visit on our last evening and when we tried to reserve a table, we were informed that it was fully booked, The staff actually re-arranged tables to ensure we could be accommodated. I had lamb chops and again all four meals were lovely.

For a small restaurant close to the canals this is worth every footstep off the regular path to try. Had the Hawaii pizza and Lasagna and a Jameson and Ginger. Awesome experience. Hustle and bustle inside but the food and patience was worth the time. Very small in fact. The aroma from the kitchen was fantastic. Real Italians working the place made it more authentic. Service was fantastic as well.

The restaurant is way out in west Amsterdam but is a great location for those staying at Slooterdik or nearby. The staff are outstanding, combining efficiency with friendliness and charm. Add to that great food; a genuinely hot arrabiata and pizza Bolognese covered in a moist Bolognese sauce makes this quite the enjoyable experience. It is low key and informal but wonderful value for money.

We came in out of the pouring rain. It was busy with a large group, but they found us a place quickly. After ordering, there was some wait, but considering the party of 20+, no surprise. The fried calamari was crisp, but not greasy. The portions were large. Wife's scampi was nicely spiced and again a large portion. Accompanying salads were fresh. They came with oil and vinegar,that was quite spicy. No attempt to hurry paying.

Fantastic food and an equally superb host! The menu was substantial and the popularity of the restaurant demonstrated how good it was. We had the pizza and pasta, all of which were brill. The waiting staff were attentive despite then bussiness of the restaurant, would definitely recommend.

Found this restaurant by chance as on holiday in Amsterdam and looked at the reviews and although a way away from where we were staying, we caught a tram and used Google maps and found it!
Wasn’t disappointed. We booked ahead and it was busy when we arrived. Lovely friendly atmosphere and great choice on the menu.
The starters were huge - top tip, maybe share one. We ordered bruschetta, mushrooms and bread and garlic butter. All really tasty.
The main meals tasted fresh, homemade and authentic. Again a good portion size. Sadly no room for a dessert.
Highly remcommend you visiting this restaurant.
