This place was absolutely amazing. It's a hotel restaurant which gave me pause, but I have to say this place blew me away. The staff was exceptionally accommodating, professional and if I'm not mistaken were all actually Italian, which doesn't make a difference to me but it added to the experience; you almost feel like you're actually in Italy. The food...., there are no words, phenomenal comes close. It's a bit out of the way if you're in the city center but absolutely worth any effort to get there. Again, this is fine dining so if you want a pizza there are plenty of other places, but if you want some authentic food, in an extremely romantic setting, do yourself a favor and visit Roberto's.

Roger hosts you like family! He delights in sharing the story of each dish from the Puglia region of Italy, and he even brings out special balsamic vinegar to heighten the salads. His passion for good food and service is evident in every aspect of this restaurant. Located on the ground floor of the Amsterdam Hilton, it is very convenient for hotel guests and non-hotel guests alike. The menu is quite varied. We enjoyed excellent salads, pasta and lamb dishes. There wasn't time for desert because we were rushing to a concert, but next time!

This place feels like italy.
We had an outstanding Caccio and pepe made at the table by a lovely lady, Lela. Wine pairing suggested by the most passionate Italian sommelier that goes by the name of Marco, he surely loves his job.
With the coffees we've been served a different selection of sugar and syrups and, without asking, a bowl of biscuits from a trolley pushed around to each table. As i said the most satisfying aspect is the energy they have while working! The sommelier was singing napoleitan songs along with the playlist! Really feels like Italy, well done!

We had decent expectations but ultimately left disappointed. My husband and I chose to celebrate his birthday there tonight at the recommendation of our hotel concierge. Our drinks were terrible. We both had Veal Marsala, the presentation of which was unappealing and it was way too salty. The service we received was pretty bad — in contrast to the attentive service given to the light skinned (White) diners. Bad attitude all over! It was so bad we didn’t even order desert because we just wanted to leave. It was a complete disaster. I told my husband I’ll have a do-over of his birthday celebration in Paris tomorrow. Nobody deserves a birthday celebration like that. Nobody. Run away from this place.

The Sicilian Italian food is very good, and I should know as I am Sicilian. The atmosphere is good, nice music, ability to have a conversation without having to shout, but beware the waiters push high priced wines and don't tell you the prices. This restaurant is located in the Hilton hotel, and it is apparent that most of their customers are those staying at the hotel and will never come again. As a local in the area, I don't appreciate paying 25 euros for a dessert wine, the size of a shot glass, and the waiter not offering you the menu to look at what is available, and just saying he will bring one. Also their wine list has only 1 red wine above a 4.1 Vivino rating, and the majority are priced way over 100 euros. Just crazy pricing for tourists, in my opinion. Picture is of the amuse - a gin drink and an arricino, tasty but cold - should have been warm - and they never asked us if we had allergies or dietary concerns before delivering the amuse.

This was an incredibly disappointing dining experience. We were attended to by a number of wait staff, which ultimately made for a chaotic experience. Long delays to get a waiter’s attention proved to be very frustrating. A couple of the staff were friendly, but for the most part we felt neglected and under valued. I ordered the Salmon/Fennel with a side of Rosemary potatoes and was dismayed by how unbelievably salty they were. It really ruined the meal for me. But no one even bothered to ask how our food was, so I guess they didn’t care. We were seated right next to the wine cabinet, which proved to be inconvenient and awkward as the staff removed various bottles throughout our stay. For the price point, I would expect a much higher standard.

I invited a group of friends for a dinner based on good reputation of this restaurant. let me share my experience in detail below this section:
Upon entering, i waited for 15 minutes waiting in the reception desk. Tried to stop by any staff that passed by to ask for my reservation, but no one was there standing by in the reception desk.
Once we got our seat, the staff was unresponsive in accepting our order, we waited for another 15 minutes until they took our order. Later we found out that they also missed out our water order.
We had a somelier came to us, but there is no smile at all in his face, he was like he was having other serious thoughts. He came to us and only said,”this is the wine that you guys ordered..” without explaining anything else beyond that. Seriously, this is a restaurant a 5 star hotel, but my experience is quite similar im buying wine at Jumbo (only with addition that someone exactly pouring the wine for us ONCE)
Food-wise, they are serving decent Italian food with someone explaining what is the uniqueness of the food.
my suggestion if you are looking for a 5star experience, this is not the place for you. at least no for the experience / hospitality. It is better just do take-away for the food only.
Seriously embarassing me among my guests. will not come again.

We came here at end of night and were treated with the utmost hospitality . First we were greeted by multiple servers entering and made to feel at ease without rush. The menu was unique offering well fair prices for such quality and ambience. Our food came out looking like a work of art and had such complex yet subtle ingredients that combined to form a unique flavor profile . In the end the chef Alessandro came out to see how our meal was going and was very welcoming and warm. We felt very taken cared of especially by Kire who went out of his way to make sure we felt at home. Definitely recommend to guests.

Roberto's is not just another hotel restaurant. This is a restaurant that’s serious about its menu, ingredients and respect for integrity of good food. Chef Alessandro had a chat with our table and his passion for the cuisine of his family’s roots was not surprising. We had already tasted it with every bite of what we had ordered. We have been here more than one time (our first time back since 2019) and the service has not been affected by the pandemic. Kire took exceptional care of us which, after a day and night of travel, was like hugging a warm blanket.
We are here for several days on business and plan to bring back some colleagues for another dinner. As much as we love to discover new places, sometimes it’s best to just feel at home with a culinary team who really cares.

We were very disappointed and irritated with both the food and the service at this hotel restaurant. The portions were very small and lacking in substance. For example, two different people ordered the Penne alla Norma and they could not find any eggplant in their meals. Someone else ordered Risotto with asparagus and red prawns - the prawns consisted of two minuscule shrimp about 1/2" long on top of the risotto. The portions were so small, both the men and women in the group left hungry. I ordered the limoncello sponge cake for dessert, it was about 1" thick, was heavily covered in whipped cream to make it appear larger and was very tasteless. If this had been an inexpensive restaurant, we would have said "you get what you paid for", but the food was mediocre at best and quite expensive. As far as service, - the server only came back once to check on us after we received our meals. We had all been out of water for quite some time, so we asked for more. We had no idea we were going to get charged for an $8 bottle of water. We made clear to the server before we ordered that our group of 7 people needed to be divided into 4 separate checks, yet when the bill came, it was all on one check! She walked off with the check and we did not see her again for another hour! After 30 minutes one of our group went looking for her and she was at a desk with someone else trying to figure it out. It was not rocket science - I don't understand what the problem was! I have been a server before and have never had any trouble taking orders on separate checks. One of the persons noticed they had been charged for 3 glasses of wine when they only had 2. The wine server refused to budge, insisting a 100 pound, 85 elderly woman had 3 glasses. Finally after I said this was the worse service we had ever had, she backed off. Our bill was over $600, I can't believe she thought we were trying to get away with not paying for an extra $11 glass of wine! We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 pm and did not get out of there until 10 pm. We all had early flights the next morning and had been trying to get out of there by 9 pm at the latest. Having dinner with our friends was wonderful but the restaurant experience was awful! I would definitely recommend NOT eating at this restaurant on your next trip.

My husband and I chose this restaurant based on the reviews.
Although the food is excellent, we felt that the portions were rather minimal. As we are not big eaters, we normally only have a main course, a dessert and coffee. However, when a main course only consists of three small meat balls, we felt it was certainly not value for money. To be honest, when my husband spoke to the waiter about this he said he would ask the chef to do a second helping. Which he did. We suggest you read the menu thoroughly and ask questions before ordering.
On a positive note, the staff could not have been more helpful.

This was an unexpected but brilliant find. I was jet lagged from an overnight flight from NYC and asked the Hilton club lounge attendant for a recommendation, and he wisely recommended Roberto’s. What a stupendously good restaurant! The welcome was warm and genuine, the wine recommendations were thoughtfully made, the menu recommendations were definite and assured. I went with a great white wine, the prosciutto con melone (with its amazing fresh scent) so carefully dribbled with balsamic vinegar table-side, and the linguine was ridiculously divine. The caffe gelato wrapped it up in sublime fashion. And all this was because of Mattia, my excellent waiter who was patient, cheerful, anticipated my needs, and endlessly upbeat. Somebody give this guy a raise. I am so coming back with work colleagues later this week. Bravo! A new favorite.

A delightful dining experience. We were staying at the hilton doubletree, but fancied something upmarket for a birthday meal out. The service was nice without being intrusive, the wine list EXCELLENT, and the food was good. Hubby's soup was to die for; and my octopus was nice. The mains were both good - not sure why I had a pile-full of roast potatoes with a delicate seafood dish, but good overall.
My only (small) gripe was the amount of time we were waiting for our order to be taken. Amsterdam seems to be suffering from a recruitment crisis at present, and they simply didn't have enough staff on to get the food out any quicker. 40 mins is a long time to wait for food, but it was lovely when it came. The waiter apologised for the restaraunt being busy, but 40% of tables were free.

The experience
We came to the Amsterdam Hilton and had booked a package with included dinner and breakfast. At first, of course we expected it to be just a buffet, but wow... We were wrong!
After entering the restaurant for the first time we were greeted overwhelmingly Friendly and led to our table by one of the restaurants staffs waiters called Marco, he was always very friendly and warm and not afraid to joke and chat with us, which we saw as a very welcoming and comforting gesture.
As we sat there, (on our first evening) and had just ordered from the 3 course menu, we were served our drinks which were impressively poured into our glasses by members of the staff.
On the topic of staff I wanted to stress the point that although I only mentioned Marco in the beginning of this review, all of the members of staff were nice, welcoming, warm and supportive and offered some of the best service and food seen and tasted by us all across amsterdam.
