Me and my boyfriend visited Marktküche and believe this was the best (vegan) dinner we have ever had. The whole experience was outstanding from beginning to the end. The food was extraordinarily tasty and we experienced surprising tastes and sensations in every course. Our whole experience started with the herb butter, which my boyfriend doubted to be vegan (this is how good it was!). We ordered the 6-course menu and believe this was perfect in terms of quantity and experience. We wouldn't go for less courses because the experience is simply too amazing and each additional dish made us incrementally happy. We also had the wine pairing which was perfectly matched to our dishes. Because we are both vegan, it was especially nice to experience a surprise tasting that usually lives from slow-cooked high-quality meat and fish creations. In my opinion, this was even better than any surprise tasting I had before I turned vegan. On a side note, the restaurant is located at the corner of a street and life was busy around us (bikes, people walking), yet, not loud or annoying to the experience. In fact, we especially loved this location and coziness/ relaxed atmosphere it brought us. Similarly, the whole team was extremely friendly and open for a chat. We really enjoyed this uncomplicated, homely atmosphere of such a fancy place, while still following the restaurant etiquette but adjusting to the guests needs. This is a really unique place. This is for all foodies, regardless of their diet!! We will definitely come back when we visit Zurich the next time.

Celebration of Senses

Excellent. Food was outstanding, prepared with such care. Chef Tobias served us the last few dishes from the prefix menu which was pretty cool since we got to share our impressions with him. Fully vegan menu. Highly recommend for vegetarians and non-vegetarians equally.

Great experience

I am not a vegan, but I decided to have a special menu with friends and the fact that it was vegan was a plus to get some inspiration. We had a 6 course tasting menu with wine. I can highly recommend that place especially as a non vegan. It is really great to see what dished cooked with amazing creativity. I would definitely go again and also already recommended it to a couple of friends.

Delicious, recommend the experience

We went for dinner yesterday and it was very delicious. The food, wine selection and service were great. The chef came at the end which was nice to do. The price is around 150 with wine tasting but worth it totally. I am not a vegan but wanted to try for my girlfriend and was a very good experience...recommend 100%

Bowled over by the good food

Did not realise this is a vegan restaurant when I booked but decided to try it. What a great surprise. Hubby and I were bowled over by the tastes. Texture. Amazing showcase and cooked beautifully. We shared a lovely bottle of wine as well. Despite a thunderstorm when we had to move indoors. Great dinner

Wonderful evening at Marktkuche

We had a fantastic time. A most enjoyable, leisurely time. The food was delicious. Wine pairings were excellent. Service was superb. One of the best restaurant experiences ever.

Interesting experience

On a recommendation of friends we booked a table here for one evening. The food was interesting and in most cases very, very good. Speaking for somebody who is not necessarily into vegan food (and this is purely vegan, and not just vegetarian friendly as stated on TripAdvisor!!). Especially the Artichoke Salad, the pumpkin soup and especially the homemade tortellini were outstanding. The service was very good as well. Our only complaint: Given the delightful tasting menu, the courses 6 courses were served back-to-back. Almost in a rush so that we had hardly time to even talk about the previous dish when the next arrived. Something easy to change, but something that need to be changed if you wish to enjoy this menu. At least the service should have asked in the beginning if fast or slow course delivery would be preferred. Side note: Be prepared for a hefty price tag for these tasting menus ... even by Zurich standards!

Extraordinary Food - A Long Dining Experience

We booked this restaurant last minute, based on overall rating and the availability of outdoor space. We were unaware it was vegan and it had set menus. We were pleasantly surprised. Absolutely delicious food with stellar presentation. Utmost thought and care has put into every detail. The kitchen and staff are very professional managing food allergies/intolerances, in our case, gluten. The restaurant is cozy, we liked the decor, but the outdoor area is a little less inviting. This meal should be enjoyed on an evening with no other plans or commitments. The wait between courses is long. We chose the 6 course meal and were at the restaurant 2.5 hours, rushing out in the end, as we had a commitment to tend to. It is understandable, given the effort put into each dish, but we would have chosen a different evening had we understood the time needed to enjoy this meal. I would love to come back another day with the rest of our family and more time. As far as the prices, we find this is more of a 'fine dining than mid-range' category. Thank you Marktküche for the spectacular food.

Absolutely fabulous

We celebrated my daughter’s 21st. Selected 6 menu option with wine pairing. Excellent explosive gastronomic experience. Really excellent food, service and atmosphere. If you are looking for big food portions then this is not for you. If you are looking for a special taste experience then this is the place. The price is high but excellent value for money.

A very nice vegan experience

Never before have I tasted such a variety in flavours in a vegan menu! This was a new experience and it definitely changed my view of vegetarian/vegan cuisine. Preparation of the dishes as well as service are at a level you would expect in a Michelin restaurant. The wine pairing is very good, too. Sine the menu is very much relying on seasonal produce, in our case it was dominated winter ingredients (beetroot, cauliflower, pumpkin, potatoes...). I am already curious to come back in spring or summer time to discover a new version of the menu.

Best Vegan food

I took my vegan daughters to Marktküche for my birthday, and we had the best dinner you can imagine. We picked 6 gang (courses), every single mouthful was scrumptious! Their menu changes every month according to only seasonal vegetables. The staff were friendly and helpful. They really made us feel good. We will definitely go back there!

Amazing Wedding Day

We had the pleasure to celebrate our wedding day at Marktküche in Zürich. Tobias and his team created a beautiful menu for our 20 guests and made our special day even more special. Great food, remarkable & knowledgeable staff, excellent wine - the vegan restaurant to go on Zurich!

Amazing

The food is lovingly prepared, delicious and a feast for the eyes! The fact that the dishes are vegan is simply incredible - what a challenge it must be to create such delectable works of art! We would love to try the end-of-the-month Friday Mittagstisch! The staff is professional and warm. One never has the feeling of being over or under "served" - the timing of everything is perfect. The atmosphere is relaxed and personal and we felt very welcome. My only criticism is the price asked for a liter of (sparkling) water and I would urge the owners to reconsider this (in my opinion unjustified) expense. Everything else is beyond excellent!
