The restaurant is a romantic,authentic Swiss place, classic, but intriguing cuisine-wise. The manager is very welcoming himself and we had a great, hospitable evening starting from the service, atmosphere, finishing great wine and delicious meals. Their signature foie gras is wonderful, but we enjoyed other dishes as well. I would definitely recommend visiting this place and am looking forward to come back.

The Zunfthaus zur Waag keeps exceeding my expectations. The food is excellent, a perfect mix between modern cuisine and timeless classics. Whenever I visit Zurich I always look forward to a Zurcher Geschnetzeltes and in my opinion the Waag has the best in town. In addition, the service is warm, friendly and very professional. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Amazing! The service was outstanding, they had an excellent wine selection and the food was delicious. I ordered the veal prime rib- ordinarily I’m not a veal kind of person but I was craving beef and this sounded like a safe choice. It was a great decision. Tender and juicy. Very nice, subtle atmosphere. Quite pricey (about $160 usd for lunch with a bottle of wine and excluding tip). A fantastic place!

We had been expecting a very nice evening with friends and good food at the Waag but this time our evening was truly excellent!
The sliced veal Zurich style was better than ever - somehow the sauce was even more refined. Could this be thanks to the new Chef de Cuisine? Also, the wine () was an excellent choice. The Mousse au Chocolat was presented as an Easter Bunny (?) and delicious. One guest with an egg allergy was very well taken care of, too.
Congratulations to the new Restaurant Manager and his staff of friendly and efficient waiters!!!

Restaurant is located in old town area. Restaurant is on the second floor. Really inviting interior with an old world but classy appearance. Service was solid. They were very attentive with some more friendly than others which was more than likely a language issue. For starters I had the pasta with black truffle that was very tasty and well prepared. My wife had the tartare with bone marrow that was served with the bone. The torture had much to much onion that overwhelmed the tartare. For our main entrees we both ordered fish. I ordered the pike perch with a green peas and sauce that was delicious! My wife ordered the perch which she also really enjoyed. Nice wine list and the menu and wine prices were fair for the quality and setting. Recommend!

For our last night of our vacation we wanted to find the perfect dining experience- amazing food that wasn’t the Michelin fine dining. We were doing a lot of research and asking the concierge at our hotel; the Widder. Our tour guide this morning walked us through this square and introduced us to the owner of this restaurant who was very charming and friendly. We returned for an indoor dining experience which was perfect. We shared the chilled cucumber yogurt soup, the Caesar salad, the shrimp tagliatelle and the veal Zurich style with Rosti. Amela recommended the choices and she was incredible and so sweet.
This was such a phenomenal and delicious meal- exactly what we wanted!!

Service is excellent. Our party of 8 person arrived 10 minutes before booking time. The people occupying the table were about to pay and we had to wait. The waiter apologized (although it was our fault) and offered free Champaign. This puts you in the mood.
Food is perfect. We selected several different meals. Unanimously all the guests couldn't praise more what they ate. Cooked to perfection, presented with love.
The prices they ask are very well worth it
We went back 2 times since and the quality is consistent. We recommend this place wit no reserve.

We celebrated the 50th anniversary of our student club on February 27, 2024 and were thrilled by the hospitality! The service, the technical support during the presentation and then the delicious menu with fine wines left a lasting impression on us! Mr. Reinhardt and his service and kitchen brigade prove that they enjoy pampering guests! The location with its centuries-old history also offers the ideal setting for smaller and larger festivities!

We felt very comfortable in this warm atmosphere and were not only given a friendly welcome, but also very courteously served. Unfortunately, you rarely find something like that these days. The food was excellent and lovingly prepared.
You have a wonderful view of the Münsterplatz.
Be sure to make a reservation, the restaurant is quite small.

With an excellent central location, a beautiful interior and a selective menu, this restaurant always pops up when Google searching for the best restaurants in Zurich. We had their set lunch menu choosing the marinated tuna fish for starters and pan fried monkfish on a bed of risotto for the main. Both were excellently prepared and presented, and oh so light and delicious, and came across more as modern European cuisine. Will have to go back for dinner when next in Zürich to try the more typically Swiss fares.

We had a wonderful Saturday afternoon lunch.
The location is in a lovely part of “old” Zurich which adds to the atmosphere of this restaurant.
The staff were great & very attentive. The food was delicious & we chose a fab bottle of wine.
All in all I wouldn’t hesitate to re visit again when I’m next over in Zurich. Highly recommend a visit if your are a tourist & would like to experience a “Swiss” type restaurant! Food choice is excellent!

Our guide suggested we should pick one of the guilds for lunch and we picked ZUNFTHAUS ZUR WAAG, a beautiful old building with a very pretty posh setting for a dinning room. We were casually dressed and even so were treated like royalty and a delicious lunch. We were joined by Darlene and Gary and most of us had the white asparagus soup and I had a veal dish with a delicious berry sauce.

I ordered the ceviche to start, and the traditional Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (sliced veal in cream and demiglace with rösti) for main course, finishing off with the chocolate mousse fot dessert. All of them were excellent. The historic guild house interior was lovely too. It was a tad pricey though.
