i was yesterday in these hidem gem restaurant i knowed Thun but more the city centre these restaurant is hided in a industrial area indoors are cousy with a lot of wood. us a wiener schnitzel fan it was clear what to order . these wiener schnitzel was defently the best i had in Switzerland and i eat w, schnizels at overpriced jack,s brasserie at the Schweizerhoff hotel Bern and cafe federal next to berns Bundeshaus. probally it also was better tasting that some of the schnitzels i had to my Austria trips Vienna and Salzburg. i adored the flavour and texture i love when it haves a crusty whells of breadcrumb coating not sure if it was made in a original way with buttersmalz oder they used a oil but it was fantastic.

Excellent Wiener Schnitzel Takeaway during Covid

Excellent Wiener Schnitzel - delicious. Even though it took us 20 minutes to get home to eat it, the meat, potatoes and cranberries were really yummy. Also the dessert Kaiserschmarrn with plums was delicious. Big portions! Can really recommend.

At first the atmosphere in the room was very warm and relaxing. The stuff very friendly and willing to explain the details from the menu. We taste soop of pumpkin, vienner snitsel and apple strudel in a warm cream. Everything taste super. We will visit again the place. Concatenation to everyone. Thanks for everything.

Everything was great!

I had read that this Austrian restaurant located at a golf course outside Thun had the best wienerschnitzel in Switzerland, and I was determined to eat there. It wasn't the easiest place to find, requiring us to take a train to Thun, followed by a 20 minute bus and walk along the golf course till you reach the clubhouse where the restaurant is located. It's worth the trip, though, because it really is a wonderful restaurant, a rare combination of great food, a special ambiance, and top notch service. Every course was delicious, including the unusually light and airy schnitzel. It was one of the best restaurants I've eaten in in Switzerland.

Excellent food, gracious servers

The location seemed a bit odd and not very promising. But it was a beautiful day, full of sunshine, and the mountains were simply glorious--the views from the terrace are wonderful. And what a welcome from the staff! Everyone was so hospitable. I have an iron-clad (ha!) rule about never eating Wiener schnitzel outside Vienna, but I broke that rule and was so glad I did. The schnitzel was excellent, as were the frites and a very fresh green salad. Christina, our server, was the best, full of life and good humor, not to mention greatly amused by my very rusty German. She recommended a terrific bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Finished up with good coffee and a bite of Mozart kugeln. A top lunch!

No chance to get food between lunch and dinner

Didn’t have the chance to try out the food. The kitchen opens at 6pm, but it’s written neither on Tripadvisor nor on the restaurant’s webpage. Our family was travelling through Switzerland, and this restaurant was pleasantly located on our way. Having arrived to the restaurant at 4:30 very hungry, we were offered only drinks, not a single sandwich or a salad. Is it so difficult to mention the kitchen opening times if you have a webpage?

One of the best European Food in Thun

This was my first visit to this restaurant though I visited Thun earlier also. Service was excellent and was delicious. Recommendations by staff turned out pretty good.

Lovely food and ambiance!

The restaurant was fully booked, so we were lucky to still get a table. The service was very friendly and the choice of food reminded me of home. It was presented very very nicely and tasted excellent. And since mummy's or daddy's is mostly better, I can compare it :-). Accompanying we had a nice wine and were really happy and satisfied when we left.

Wonderful Wienerschnitzel like in Oesterreich. Hans and his Team are very friendly and helpful with great dishes. Follow Hans Wine recommandations, the Winelist is fantastic from local Austrian Wineries.

Patio late lunch

We visited after some hiking in the mountains and sitting on the patio was wonderfully restorative. Outside of regular kitchen hours, there was still a small selection of dishes available. Their seasonal salad was delicious, and what a great idea to serve the sauce separate. Possibly from being next to the golf course, it feels a bit like a club house, but a very nice one indeed.

Good service, good food, nice place

The place was nice, not in the city center. The chateaubriand was delicious and they have a nice wine menu. The service was good, although we’ve been served by three different waiters, which let sometimes to a gap (waiting times, had to tell some wishes twice).

Wonderful ambience both in restaurant and winter season cheese hut!

I have been eating with friends on several occasions both in the very classy decorated but also cosy restaurant as also in the recently opened winter season cheese hut. If you have been to the place before the take-over about a year ago (formerly it used to be a Thai restaurant), you will be very positively surprised both by the food quality as well as the cosy atmosphere. And of course not to forget to mention the very friendly service. The cheese hut is very cosy decorated and you feel like on a real mountain hut, no need to go there. The classic fondue is very tasty, but there is also a special one you for sure do not get anywhere else in Switzerland.

Loveliest Schnitzel in all of Thun!

Our swiss friend told us that this place used to be a Thai restaurant but that it closed for over a year before the new owners took over and it has been opened for about half a year or so by now. The name of the restaurant remains the same though. I had wanted to savour original schnitzel while here in Switzerland and as we were staying at our friend's place in Thun, he brought us here! We were not disappointed! Ambience was lovely with nice, warm lighting and wonderful service from everyone present. Together with the lovely taste of the schnitzels in our mouths, it made for an experience I would come by again should I be in Thun the next time. Note that we had the "Original Weiner Schnitzel", which costs slightly more as it is made from veal.

A perfect evening!

I had a lovely evening with my family (3people) the service was excellent and very attentive, which is important for me. The food was simply delicious and the main course was served by the chef himself! They had no problem with a little extra wish, like some extra sides. Further the stuff was very friendly and natural, it gives you just such a cozy feeling. The ambience complements these feelings as well, even though it is modern it remains warm and nice. I can truly recommend the Austrian kitchen. The pictures shows the "Kalbshaxe with gratin" (very good!)
