I first started going to Dal Mas when I was studying in Venice in 1980(!!). It was then that I discovered its torta Di ricotta. It was so soft, airy and fluffy ( nothing at all like a classic New York cheesecake, which is completely...More

Really is a case of enjoying the scenery and buzz of the city; a bit of 'embededness' into the ways of the venetians. a fine array of pasticcerias and a leaning space to have a rest-but be warned-no toilets!

This is my every morning best start of the day. Pastine di Riso are the top, but give a try to those pistacchio brioche! And if you are a salty treat person no problem: quiche with vegetable and cheese are waiting for you. It is...More

I was lucky enough to have a hotel really close to this place. In my three days in Venice, there was only one instance, after sunset, when this place wasn't heaving!! Tasty sweets and a huge variety. Coffee is pretty good too. Lots of locals...More

Just paid 4.40e for a large, cookie-like confection that was not at all remarkable, Sold by the weight, I was a little stunned by the cost but wanted to try something ‘local’. Next time will choose differently....

I am very critical when it comes to chocolate...this place deserves more recognition for the quality it puts out and attention to detail that goes into each piece that’s made. Every piece of chocolate and every macaroon I tasted was PERFECT. The staff is also...More

This one was very close to where we were staying at Venice. Went once to get some Macrons, Croissants and pastries. All tasted really good. Their watermelon flavored macrons were to die for. Conveniently located near train station.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
