A perfect restaurant on a rainy day. Located in the main piazza this restaurant is nicely decorated with very friendly staff. Food wise fantastico! I had the steak with a Gorgonzola sauce which was delicious. My friends had the spaghetti ragu which was fresh and...perfect. As I have mentioned too the staff were so welcoming and this is a restaurant we would certainly be happy to revisit. Very much recommend.More

We were nearly put off this restaurant as it has caffe in the title- it is a lovely restaurant with delicious food choices. Very impressed by the owner/ manager who seemed to be able to speak at least 4 languages to explain the menu to...different tables-very impressive for Italy. We had two starters: cold roasted guinea fowl, served with a little salad, dressing and dried olives and then tuna tartare served with cucumber and black sesame seeds in a bloody Mary dressing- both divine! Two mains were BBQ spare ribs served with roasted potatos and sweetcorn, and then Zander fish served with crispy courgettes and I think on a bed of pea sauce- very delicate but delicious too. We shared a tiramisu. I had a glass of their house red premium- very good full bodied. Not big portions but they don't need to be as the flavours are so good. Definitely recommend this place and would definitely come back again.More

So disappointing as it’s a lovely caffe with wonderful pastries, coffees and biscotti. It was recommended as an old haunt for poets and artists. We wanted to sit outside and a waiter would come to us - which he did not! So I ordered inside...and finally it was brought to us, and the waiter was very hospitable. But the bill was horrendous and we got charged about 3 times the price advertised in the menu. The girl at the counter said, it was because we sat aside and were waited on. Hardly waited on. Sit inside or takeaway. Extortionate prices for sitting outside is ridiculous. Another couple waited and left too.More

We are here twice in our week in Stresa and both experiences were excellent. Served predominantly by the owner Rafaelle the first evening (our anniversary) and by Francesca on the second occasion but both made us feel extremely welcome. The antipasti board we shared for...the starter was excellent and the two steaks we enjoyed were also brilliant (on both occasions!). Only suggestion would be to call the “brown sauce” gravy instead on their English translated menu. Will definitely return on our next holiday in Stresa.More

This is a nice restaurant located in the center of Stresa’s old town. The service is very welcoming and friendly. The food is good quality and at reasonable price. The portion are not as big as they can be in other restaurants.

Excellent service; reasonable price. We had their BBQ pork -- I live in Houston and can have BBQ pork at 5,000 restaurants but I have never had better than Caffe Torino. It was exceptional.

Although there were not so many customers, we got a friendly and efficient service. A chef’s teaser was unexpected and the starter was shared. The main was fish with zucchini flowers on top and a green ‘sauce’, all very tasty and original, but maybe lacking...some finesse.More

Stopped in Stresa for a lunch break and headed to Caffe Torino upon recommendation of TripAdvisor. The food was absolutely awesome, and the service was outstanding. The manager Massimo was super nice to us and all the staff was extremely smiley and efficient. So we...absolutely recommend Caffe Torino and we would definitely return if we have the chance to be back in Stresa.More

New owner, unfortunately only the interior has improved. The dishes are generally very small in relation to price, it could work if they were good and well prepared, but they are sadly far from that. My first course was spagetti vongole, fairly normal, the pasta...was all right, and the mussels maybe okay, I had difficulties to find them, there were nine(9!) mussels, I counted them...My husband had todays soup which was a celery soup, topped with some ready-made croutons. A dull pale dish, okay but far to expensive. I had a piece of pike-perch as main course, the piece was 2 cm thick, and 8 x 8 cm big....and it was placed on what seemed to be the same sauce as my husband had just had as "toays soup"? But the absolute worst dish was his main course, Discribed in the menu as a veal chop with fried potatoes. It was a schnitzel, enormously breaded in a very thick layer and then deepfried, served with factory-made fries. served with small packets of ketchup i foli, like a mcDonalds...It looked liked something you would expect on a autobahn restaurant at a cost of maybe 10 euros., Here it was 24 Euros!. Absolutely horrible. ' And all served on paper placemats, preprinted with the menu, so don´t expect this restaurant to change menu according to seasonal ingredients. We sincerely hope for a change, the restaurant is placed on the busiest square in Stresa so it will probablyt survive, but it would be so sad to see it turned in to a true tourist-trap! We who live in Stresa have many other options, but the towns reputation....... The only reason for the two satrs are the nice lady who served us, and the bread.More

Very busy place (a good sign) - both nights we had virtually the last available table. Excellent gnocchetti, sea bass, perch (from Lake Maggiore) and penne arrabiata. Good wines and friendly but professional staff too.
