Thank you Andrea at Taste of Bologna for this recommendation, we wanted a good restaurant were we could eat straightforward food and having done the food tour that day not eat two much, well that didn't work as we went for the works, the full...three courses. This is a very nice restaurant not a massive menu which we like as its shows that there is attention paid to the food, our starters were delicious , tortellini , ragu all good, we had roast rabbit for our main courses a favourite and well cooked. Decent wine list and amazing prices, but then I'm used to London. If you want a straight forward restaurant that does good food with really nice staff then this is the place.More

We had dinner here last night, 7.30 reservation. We were early diners but it filled up by 8pm. This is a local type of trattoria, filled with regular local diners, most seemed known to the staff. We were made very welcome by the excellent wait...staff, who had perfect english. The food was terrific, with a good selection of dishes and a good wine list. We ate very well and enjoyed it very much.More

We had a lovely meal here. We had trattoria bolognese, veal cutlet, zucchini polpetine and delicious onion and tomatoes. Had two bottles of wine and the cost was 74 EURO. A real bargain for a nice meal with great serivce.

We were referred here by our airbnb host and it was hands-down, the best meal we had in Bologna! Simple, QUALITY ingredients handled with the care and respect that these traditional recipes deserve! The tortellini in broth was OUT OF THE WORLD and my son,...who absolutely loves ragu said it was the best he's ever had (he ordered a second bowl, it was so good!). We also had the polpetone (meatloaf) and the friggione with the egg on top. Everything was amazing. Also of note are the extremely reasonable prices for such amazing food. Don't miss the zuppa inglese or the traditional rice cake for dessert. Wish we had had a chance to go back!More

A small restaurant that was recommended by an Italian app. Reservations are probably a good idea. We were late for our appointed time, but they kindly accommodated us. It helped we were a party of two. It was a Friday night and is popular with...large groups. The service slowed a little when two large tables showed up within 10 minutes of each other, but we had already eaten and were not in a hurry. And if we were, we could have flagged them down. We were the only tourists, which was nice. I speak some Italian but the staff speaks excellent English. I appreciated that they asked which language menu we preferred. I had passatelli in brodo, which was light and lovely. My husband had a large, sliced polpotone, which was like a really great meatloaf, with some excellent onions. They explained to us how the onions were made, we loved them so much! We had a peach and gelato dessert which was delicious. Everything was great, I would return.More

This little restaurant is a very lovely place with AMAZING traditional tortellini and ragu. Modest prices and a lovely 'zuppa inglese'!

We had a delicious meal at this traditional Bolognese restaurant tucked away in a quiet arcade but a short walk from the centre. I had delicious tortellini in brodo and, then, friggione with a fried egg on top. I had not come across friggione before....It comprised very slowly cooked white onion with tomato. It was light and really tasty. I asked the owner the secret of the recipe and he said very slow cooking of the onions and the right tomatoes, not watery ones. My husband had very fresh butterfly pasta (farfalle) with peas, artichokes and asparagus followed by liver and onions. He then had a sublime Zuppa Inglese. The flavours melded together so well and the different consistencies of soft cake and firmer chocolate were unusual but perfect. This was fine regional cooking in an attractive space. We were the only non-Italians there but the owners spoke English and were very helpful and hospitable.More

Closer to a 4.5. This is a very nice little Trattoria. It is great that is seems to be tucked away in a hidden spot, but is actually quite close to the Piazza Maggiore. The restaurant definitely has a local feel, and the service was...friendly and accommodating. I found the restaurant also to be a very good value. The Crescentina with Assorted Meats and Squarquerone is especially recommended. I have seen places with more variety of meats, but what was offered was really tasty. The actual bread is amazing though. Warm, pillowy, crispy, but not greasy at all. We also had an excellent special of thin Tagliatelle with Artichokes. The only miss was the Panna Cotta which I am afraid was a touch over baked. Over all definitely recommended for a quiet, reasonable, and tasty dinner of true Bolognese specialties.More

In very nice location, full of history, nice atmosphere and warm service in combination with good food makes this trattoria very good choice if in center of the city. Some interesting combination of food, good pasta, very good meat and even better desserts is what...you can enjoy, surrounded by locals. RecommendedMore
