This place is extremely busy but I was able to come back after an hour and they fit me in. Beautiful decor inside and outside on the alley. The bucatini alla amatriciana was delicious, perfectly cooked with plenty of meat. Service was pretty good, the...food came quickly and prices are reasonable.More

The food was original and excellent. The drawback is the slight arrogance common to so many Roman places. The two vegetarians in our group were made to feel like they were a nuisance. The same when one of our girls asked about what was in...the involtini- how could she be so ignorant... They want people to order quickly. And, they serve no coffee as they want you to leave quickly (they make no money from coffee indeed). So, excellent Roman food, the place is good for a quick lunch, not for a leisurely dinner.More

I had not been at Gino for a few years, but good things never change. Splendid Roman environment, great service and local food to die for.

This family run restaurant is one of my favorites in Rome. They deliver wonderful Italian dishes in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I love the artichokes and the oso bucco. Be sure to make reservations, Gino's...gets packed with locals every night.More

We travelled one week around Umbria region enjoying the food. Unfortunately our lunch at Gino was below average for us…

Fantastic family run restaurant! Service was warm and friendly. The food was DELICIOUS for a casual night out dinner. Everything is priced pretty low, especially given the location!! Great food, great value, definitely visit when you are in Rome!!

I really felt like “in need of Carbonara” today...but I wasn’t even close to my (ex) favourite place, hence I decided to to go to Gino. It’s a lovely place, hidden in the ancient alley, with a charming veranda outdoor. Being alone I preferred to...sit inside and enjoy the perfectly aircon environment. Tables are right outdistanced, comfortable, with white clean and tidy tablecloth, nice mise en place. It deals of a kinda modern trattoria: informal at the same time elegant, neat. Despite the number of guest, the restaurant wasn’t noisy at all. One would really enjoy the entire lunch/dinner time without that annoying clamour typical in any tourist oriented restaurant. Many locals...a good sign, I thought! I did not pay to the menu much attention...when the owner came for the order I asked for “cicoria ripassata” and an advice for the main course. “First time here? You’d better try our Carbonara” right what I wanted to hear! Here we are Cicoria ripassata, a very simple recipe, was really fine Verdure fresche fritte in tempura, deep fried vegetables, were absolutely perfect! Not greasy at all, crunchy, tasty...yummy Rigatoni alla Carbonara...well... I’ve been eating tons of Carbonara in Rome, sometimes good some other times excellent...Gino’s Carbonara is so far the very best I’ve ever tried in my life! Perfectly balanced sapidity, not salty at all, flavourful, rich, creamy, generous. Cheek lard finely pan fried....in other words, that CARBONARA is EXTRAORDINARILY DELICIOUS!!! A must try! Afterwards, I didn’t really want to have coffee not to spoil the pleasant sensation I had in my mouth after my Rigatoni...however, when reading a review claiming they don’t serve coffee, I ordered one: coffee was excellent, too. Good and discrete service, very fair prices. My new favourite in town!More
