We visited Taverna Allegra 3 times in September 2020. The host and the waiters were really friendly and helpful, they also gave us a hint finding the best beach in the area. The food and the drinks were amazing, the homemade pasta and local limoncello...were the best we had during the whole trip (we also tried other places). The quality was superb. And everything came at no cost compared to the whole experience! We can only recommend this place! :)More

Do not go here if you are gluten free. I called ahead and asked 3 times do you have gluten free options and pasta? “Yes of course” when we arrived we asked again do you have gluten free pasta? And they said yes again. We...then sat down and I was ready to order my meal when the waiter came to take our order (which also took forever to come). He said I have the seafood risotto for you.....and I replied saying I thought you had gluten free pasta? He said you can only have the risotto nothing else. I said no and he went away and said I’ll come back - 20 minutes later we were still waiting with a horrendous singer “performing” to us. At that point another waiter came over and said the pasta was “light in gluten” - we were both unclear what that meant. He then said I’d you are coeliac you can’t have the pasta. He went back inside and at this point we decided to leave. The staff had been rude and had no idea about allergies, the atmosphere was awful, performance terrible and NO gluten free options. If you have allergies avoid at all costs. (Unless you like seafood risotto).More

Looking up the passageway to Tavern Allegra you may be apprehensive but put that behind you and take the step towards a really lovely authentic Italian restaurant. There are some tables along the passageway but hidden inside was lovely arched dining area which was shown...to us by Guiseppe who was very friendly and professional. He introduced us to items on the menu that we would normally be frightened of ordering but after eating and thoroughly enjoying, we now don't have the fear! The food throughout the meal was excellent quality and the guitarist and impromptu singing all added to the atmosphere.More

Fantastic authentic Italian restaurant. I often look for hidden gems like this away from the tourist traps. Great food and service.

Cute tucked away restaurant off from the Main Street in Sorrento, but what a great find! The hospitality was amazing, being the first night of our trip it was an incredibly fun way to settle yourself in - with singing, napkin waving, tambourine shaking and...conversation with the hosts. The staff here are fantastic, warm and hospital. This place is very traditional and charming. The food and wine are excellent value for money- we paid 9€ for a large carafe of wine and enjoyed the generous portions of fresh creamy pasta, not forgetting a huge shot of lemoncello to wash it all down. All the guests were in a great mood and we liked how the Italian customers said goodnight to everyone else as they were leaving. Thoroughly recommend making this a part of your trip - it was a very fun experience!More

It is not on the main street, just in the sadow, but very nice. They have a few table outside. The staff are very very kind and they can speak English and know so much about sport, the about the Hungarian waterpolo players😊 the food...are excellent the drink also. They have live music, it means a man with a gitar and his voice could be good....once. It makes the feeling that we are in Cuba.More

What a fantastic experience. The food was amazing, the staff treat you like family and the live music is just a touch of class. Both the food and drink are very reasonably priced and in our opinion It was the best food we had in...the town. In fact it was so good we had to come back a second night! On our return they even gave us a small Italian cookbook so we could try recreate some of their specialties. This is not one to miss, TavernAllegra is a special experience.More
