I booked this restaurant for my girlfriend’s birthday, I wanted somewhere with a lively atmosphere and good homemade food, and Tripadvisor reviews pointed me to here. It was the PERFECT choice! This is more like a meal in a family home than eating in a...restaurant. Guiseppe and his family went out of their way to provide the most amazing evening for us, the food was outstanding, the drinks were flowing and the music and singing made the evening absolutely perfect! They knew it was my girlfriend’s birthday & they all made her feel really special, we could not have asked for a better experience!More

We had trouble booking a reservation here. Their computer was down and we got no response after two tries. We had head from a few others that this was a fun place to eat. The owners are friendly and they sing to you while you're...eating. Really nice! My wife ordered branzino, which was fileted and deboned tableside. The fish was just luke warm, tasted strong, and really had a lot of bones. My pasta with sausage and mushrooms was good. We had a nice, large arugula (rocket) salad which was fresh and cold. Very good service -- friendly and accommodating. We had a very good bottle of Falanghina (an Italian white) which was very reasonable.More

We went not knowing what to expect and ended up loving the food and the live music. The mussels and the pasta with clams were especially good. The owner is very friendly. Overall great experience.

A friend of mine back in the US so highly recommended this place so we felt like we had to come and it was a treat. Guiseppe immediately made us feel at home and welcome and even brought us out a complimentary glass of prosecco....He was a treat to talk to, and we had wonderful appetizers (the fried zucci leaves were to die for). Then at his recommendation had the local fresh fish that day and octopus. All with a wine he recommended that was very good value and tasted excellent. Finished it off with dessert, plus complimentary limoncella. All the while some local music in the background made it feel very local Italian and we feel like we have a friend in Sorrento. He was so kind and outgoing, and the food was so good, would highly recommend to anyone.More

We had family dinner in TavernAllegra twice this week and we´ve booked a third time! We last visited 8 years ago with our family and it is still as good as we had remembered. The staff are very welcoming and seem genuinely keen to provide...a good service and ensure repeat business. The food was good, especially the mussels starter which all the family enjoy. The seafood risotto and lobster spaghetti is excellent. My wife really enjoys the singing which seems a bit of a novelty as we haven´t seen this in other restaurants.More

In a very touristy town, it’s great to enjoy dinner where the staff clearly cares about making sure you have a good experience. The food was delicious and the service caring. The music was provided by a solo guitarist (and no one shook us down...for tips) We sat outside and really loved the food, from fried squash blossoms, gnocchi, house wine and dessert.More

Everything was perfect. The owners were so kind. We could not have asked for more. The chef was so accommodating and even made a dish for my husband that wasn’t on the menu. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was unlike anything else, and we...left happy. The chef is an amazing cook and an amazing singer. Such a great night. We weren’t having a good time in Italy. It seemed like anything that could go wrong did. But this place literally MADE our trip to Italy worth it.More

We visited Taverna Allegra 3 times in September 2020. The host and the waiters were really friendly and helpful, they also gave us a hint finding the best beach in the area. The food and the drinks were amazing, the homemade pasta and local limoncello...were the best we had during the whole trip (we also tried other places). The quality was superb. And everything came at no cost compared to the whole experience! We can only recommend this place! :)More

Do not go here if you are gluten free. I called ahead and asked 3 times do you have gluten free options and pasta? “Yes of course” when we arrived we asked again do you have gluten free pasta? And they said yes again. We...then sat down and I was ready to order my meal when the waiter came to take our order (which also took forever to come). He said I have the seafood risotto for you.....and I replied saying I thought you had gluten free pasta? He said you can only have the risotto nothing else. I said no and he went away and said I’ll come back - 20 minutes later we were still waiting with a horrendous singer “performing” to us. At that point another waiter came over and said the pasta was “light in gluten” - we were both unclear what that meant. He then said I’d you are coeliac you can’t have the pasta. He went back inside and at this point we decided to leave. The staff had been rude and had no idea about allergies, the atmosphere was awful, performance terrible and NO gluten free options. If you have allergies avoid at all costs. (Unless you like seafood risotto).More
