They have many varied and tasty desserts. We tried 6 different ones. Some were better than others but all were good. Good service too.

I am American but my mother was Spanish. I grew up in Madrid and still visit family very often there. Besides being excited about seeing family, the second best thing is coming to this bakery! I have been coming here for years and always buy...la tarta de chocolate (chocolate cake). The cake at this place, and in Europe in general, along with other sweets are awesome and are not as sweet and rich like cakes in the USA! Cakes in the USA are way too sweet, the ones made here are right on target!! Love this place! Gets very busy during certain times of the day so be ready! I wish they could overnight me a Tarta de Chocolate! :)More

Highly recommended for croissants and bakery lovers, honest and coherent prices. Usually a bit crowded but it’s worth the wait. Staff a bit too hasty but understandable due to the number of customers.

Wanted to check out this place to check out what the hype was about. We had walked around last few days and place always had a line. So we showed up a little after opening. No line just a couple people inside so we chose...our pastries right away. Clearly I sensed a rude tone in the server but decided to ignore it. She asked for here? or to go? I said for here. So we got our pastries and headed to the open table (only two tables, cafe is small). Shortly after the waitress comes to the table and says “ I have to charge you extra for the pastries if you want to sit here and eat them”. I said: what?!?! I was shocked, it didn’t make sense to me. Long story short, it was an awful experience, the overpriced pastries were nothing out of this world, the cold coffee was bad and the service was absolutely disgusting with every person that we dealt with including a very old man, the manger idk what he was. I do not recommend it. This place deserves no hype. Nothing special here folks, sorry. Skip it, you can do without it.More

This is an example of a place being so popular, as Yogi Berra said, nobody goes there anymore. It is heaving inside...can barely get in the door. This was the case every time I walked by. It's an old shop without a lot of spce....Finally I just braved it and went in. I got the obligatory napolitana de crema, and frankly, I now understand the crush of people. This is delicious. I also feel bad for locals who want to frequent this bakery as they have so many people to get through to get there. Get the napolitana de crema. You're welcome.More

Founded in 1984, this bakery situated at Puerta del Sol is always packed with people in the way any long established places become a must on all local and foreign tourists agenda. The old fashioned overly big and sweet pastries were not to my taste...and the service rushed and unfriendly. This is not to be confused with another pastry shop, one of the best in Madrid, called Mallorca.More

Delicious bakery in Sol. Be prepared to order quickly as the lines can be long, and it’s packed in the morning. I had a palmier with cafe con leche. This is a takeaway spot though there is a small counter to stand up. Worth stopping...in!More

This pastry shop has been around since 1894. You can order the pastries from the display and eat them while standing by the counter. A perfect pairing will be a cup of coffee or tea.
