Great vibe and atmosphere at Babula Bar, excellent cocktails and the food was not too bad either ! Dined on a Saturday night and the place was packed , shared a selection of items as they all sounded so good. I loved the bar , it was colorful and retro and colorful.
The burrata was a tad expensive at €14 but it was fresh and milky when cut, the tuna tataki was good , the foie toasts were deliciously light and tasty but the highlight was the marinated smoked salmon, it was very flavorsome , really good, I could have eaten a big plateful, tender salmon with smoked whisky notes.
There was a good selection of wines by the glass so something for everyone. Service was great, the bill came when requested and all the servers were friendly and happy to explain anything which you did not understand. A lot of people seemed to just pop in for drinks at the bar counter which was okay too. Overall , a fun night out with well made cocktails & delicious food.

The food was truly outstanding. However the service wasn’t great. The waiter spent most of his time ignoring us and taking photos of the group at the back. We had to stop a waiter to ask for dessert and coffee rather than being offered it, and we waited 20/30 mins after we finished main.
The food was great though - definitely some of the best food in Barcelona

Hugely welcomed, deeply satisfied by the no-fire cooked food and completely fascinated by their cocktail carte.
I spent a delightful moment with my brother for a Sunday ceviche and fish based lunch. The menu was so appealing that it automatically invited us to choose around 5-6 different plates to deepen the Spanish concept of "para picar" and "para compartir" (ti snack and share"). We spaced from Peruvian tuna and snapper ceviche to freshly chopped octopus with potatoes and hummus. The tasty sauces, the fresh ingredients and the tradition were so well balanced with the environment that we felt automatically pushed to try more and more.
I personally accompanied all with a Cocktail Maison bourbon made. The overall atmosphere and their alcoholic proposition actually made me think that also at night for dates and galant rendezvous can be the appropriate choice.
In the end Niccolò, the amazing Italian guy who served us in this "journey" as he called, surprised us with an amazing cake that reproduced an egg shape filled with cream and mango emulsion.
5/5 very lovely experience in Barcelona.
I look forward to try the two others of the same owner, whose one of them is a Gourmet pizzeria.

I had this place in my to do list because of all good recommendations but … I didn’t like it, we didn’t feel welcomed. Yes, unfortunately we haven’t had in mind to make a reservation before , so we were seated in the street on wiggly chairs to table in the dark, no good atmosphere, although there weren’t any people in restaurant, tables were without any reservation cards on them. But okay, our mistake. Waiter spoke very fast with strong accent like he didn’t have time for us, menu was just in spanish. We didn’t got drink menu, he didn’t offer any side dish or salad or something to that little nothing meat we got. We ordered the most expensive food in menu, we wanted to eat properly to feed ourselves after challenging day. What we got was two little plates with little piece of lamb what looked like a fish finger, any side dish just one piece of shroom and smthng (wth), 2nd dish was better served and with better taste - nothing special for 24€, but the feeling of that all, I don’t know, we paid 55€ for 2dishes and coffee and didn’t feel right after all of this. I can say it ruined our night and I wouldn’t recommend this place. I don’t know what we’ve done to them to deserve such a treat.

Despite booking table inside the restaurant days ahead we could not get a table inside the restaurant. They told us we had booked a table outside, bur that is a lie. We were told to choose a table outside or leave. Outside it was 7-8 degrees and wind. Since it was saturday evening at 22.00 it was to late to look for alternatives. They offered us blankets, but they never showed up. We were told to get a table inside when other customers left, but New one kept coming without letting us in. The food was average and got cold too fast. The scallops were to much f ried, probably on too low temperature, too much chewing resistance. Below what you expect. The waiter did not seem to know anything about winepairing. After nearly two hours halfway in the last course we got to get inside. Things got better of course, but the dinner was already ruined for us. I dont see the point of coming back, look for other restaurants with better food, knowledge and atmosphere.

Came a Thursday night around 10PM in August 2021 and the restaurant was popping. Love that. Love a lively scene. Sat at the bar with the SO and shared a bunch of things. Everything we ate was very yummy but my favorite was the scallop. All food and drinks were very reasonably priced considering that the neighborhood is touristy. Barca has a ton of tapas restaurants that blend together but not this one. I would go back.

From the service, to the drinks, to everything about the food, Babula Bar is the best restaurant I have ever been to.
The hostess was kind and welcoming, the ambience was amazing. The restaurant radiated class and creativity blended with relaxation and modernity.
The bartender was amazing to watch. Ice was thrown around and the incredible drinks were shaken and poured faster than anything I’ve seen.
The chefs- although I never saw them, I want to thank them one thousand times over. Every course held something new. The creamy tanginess of the Babula Potatoes contrasted with the smooth, buttery taste of the scallops with potato foam. The shrimp ceviche, mixed tartare, and foie gras were among the favorites at our table, but it was the octopus, which was so full of flavor and perfectly cooked, that made me realize I had never tasted food as good as this.
I went to Babula Bar with three friends. We drank, bought many starter, fish, and meat plates, and only spent around €40 per person, a small price to pay for food like this.
The bar gave us free shots at the end of our meal. We paid, collected our things, and walked outside, knowing that this is a place we will return to with friends and families time and time again.

This place is just perfect in all aspects. The service is very helpful and the whole place has a easy groove that makes you feel wellcome right from the start. Food is just fantastic and we left the place very content and satisfied. All dishes are made to share and we spent just over € 40.-pp including drinks and dessert.

We went to this restaurant based on the trip advisor reviews. We must have picked a bad time! The food was good quality but it took 2 hours to get 3 dishes, we could see the staff looking at our table and looking awkward. After the third dish we asked for the bill and the waitress did apologise for the wait. Like I said the food when we got it was good we were disappointed with the service

I had booked a table in advance for my wife's 50th birthday, and asked for a nice table on the booking form to help celebrate her birthday.
When we arrived we were taken to a small table right at the back of the restaurant next to the kitchen. So the restaurant either didn't read the reservation, or simply ignored it.
We placed our food order (3 tapas dishes each) and then had to wait for around an hour before any of the meat or fish dishes arrived. We just had bread and Patatas Bravas to eat for the first hour, and received no apology or explanation for the slow service.
I must say that when the meat & fish dishes eventually arrived they were very tasty, and looked amazing - the beef stew, and duck cannelloni were superb.
The reason I'd booked this restaurant was because it looked from the website and reviews like an ideal place to go for a celebration meal. However, our experience was the opposite, and what should have been a very special birthday celebration was unfortunately spoiled by the disappointing level of customer service we received here. Such a shame.

Ishmael was a wonderful host to us for our last meal in Barcelona. This place had some of the best fusion food and Ishmael did a wonderful job of explaining each dish before we took a bite. The one thing that stood out here was the service. Our servers always kept our water glasses full, and even turned the music down for our group as we were making a few toasts during our meal.

Excellent food, impeccable service, great atmosphere. The staff were amazing, effortlessly providing a perfect, attentive and hard working service, the food was amongst the best in Barcelona, and for what we had, and importantly the quality, I'd say it was surprisingly reasonably priced, 6 good tapas, 2 drinks, water and deserts coming in at €100. The bar staff also really knew their trade too, the cocktails were spot on and the aperitif just perfect. One major joy of this place which makes it nice to eat at the bar is the attention to details and clear pursuit of making the best possible in each task they did, this extended from the food to the drinks. Well done to all the staff.

Lovely lunch.
Came here with my husband after seeing the great reviews and it didnt disappoint us! We were greeted upon entering by a very friendly waiter. He explain the menu thoroughly and did a good job recommending us dishes that we would enjoy. All the dishes were very delicious!
We were given a few wines to taste and choose the one we like the most.
We truly recommend this place.
Well worth it visit.
Ps. If you come here do not forget to ask for their cocktails.... are so amazing!!!

Where can I start? We found this place by accident. We were staying at the Hotel Claris a few feet away, down the street. We walked over the first night and although they were busy they accommodated us at the bar. We had a bottle of red wine and the imitation egg (which is actually a chocolate egg with passion fruit filling), which exceeding our expectation. The service was amazing and the environment was inviting. We connected with the bartender and host immediately—warm and friendly and very quick and knowledgeable on how to manage the room! Amazing.
We decided to come the next evening for dinner, and again, they were able to accommodate us at the bar. We tried all of the house cocktails and all were amazing. But we were specially surprised by the Sr. Mendoza drink—imagine an old fashion but actually being able to drink it without having to fake how good it is. Did I mention it’s made with tequila?
The food was also toe curling—the tartar was un reliable. The lamb was unexpectedly amazing. Everything was beyond our expectation.
The team is amazing and we connected again with the hostess and bartender—so amazing we even had some drinks together
Lifelong friend were made, taste buds were altered, and a must visit spot in Barcelona was created.

This place is great! Atmosphere is cool and the staff is also really friendly, you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is really good and they offer a great variety of different tasty tapas! It’s 100% worth it. Do yourself a favour and visit this place!
