We had lunch with a friend on a sunny August Sunday at Ca La Nuri Platja. As ever, brilliant. We shared a delicious tomato and “ventresca de atún” salad (tuna) which was amazing with the right olive oil and peppery dressing and shards of onion....Then we shared two “arroces” (paella): the black rice (made with squid ink: totally black) and the vegetables arroz. Both made to perfection and delicious. The black rice is very salty! Remember to order water. We were too full for dessert so we had (“cortado”) coffees. We’ll be back!More

I was totally perplexed to find out that we were not allowed to smoke on the terrace outside taking into account that each and every other restaurant lets its customers to do so, therefore it is management internal rule. Moreover, the manager wasn’t at the...location at that moment in time.More

Chance choice, we stopped by just because we got tired walking; it turned out to be a good choice as we enjoyed really delicious seafood. Busy place, some tables outside were reserved, even at an early afternoon hour.

First of all Ca La Nuri sits on an exceptional location right on the Barcelona beach that only a handful of restaurants can enjoy. And it is not only the restaurant inside having gorgeous views over the seashore, but the all-year terrace sits actually on...the sand! Then you have their excellent menu based on Mediterranean dishes, being rices -paellas- the most well known ones. Finally you have a fair enough service -we had to repeat some pending dishes too many times today-. Main drawback is price: far too expensive but in line with the tourist-oriented location. Actually, make sure you book well in advance, especially if you plan to seat in the terrace. Came here for lunch it is right on the beach in a very nice location we ordered a couple of beers then the waiter asked us if we would like to fry the fish of the day we said yes he then came out with...this big flat fish to show us which was huge it then took about 20 mins for the cooked version to come to our table, the waiter de boned it and served onto our plates with fried potatoes it was amazing very fresh and tasty. Then asked for the bill the fish cost us 59 euros which is a lot but it was very nice should have asked the price in the first place but good service a very nice foodMore

Beach restaurant, several tables free. We asked for a table for 2 for drinks only. 5 waiters standing around. One of them very shortly responded; "we are closed" We looked around not really understanding why he is saying that they are closed when obviously they...were not and there were lots of free tables. Another waiter with a silly little smirk on his face says; "we are closed for drinks" That's pretty outrageous I think. Why are waiters encouraged to turn paying customers away? I am glad we didn't give them our money now. Good luck with running your business!More

Came upon this place, was not too busy so we popped in, had Paella as one does in Barcelona but found it not very flavourful, just very salty. We did enjoy the bread and olives though. Realize the terrace has a cover charge though, prices...otherwise no higher than expected for the area.More

We had a very nice meal of Squid Ink Paella at Platja ca la Nuri. You can't beat a nice restaurant meal right on the beach. The meal was pricey, and the service was OK. Its a nice break from the tourist chaos of the...beach, and conveniently located, but I'd probably try another place next time.More

I have never met such unfriendly staff like that anywhere in Barcelona. no one met us from the staff, although there were many waiters and no one wanted to acompany to the table , and therefore we chose a table on the first line of...the sea, ordered drinks and planned to order dinner. but then a waiter came up to us and said that we cannot sit here because this row of tables is for those who order food. which we wanted to do before that. and she told us that if other people come, she will ask us to sit in another place. it's horrible. if in your restaurant such rules write about it at the entrance, let your waiters work better and come up when people are standing at the entrance for 10 minutes. after that I went to the manager because inconvenience was caused through their fault. instead of apologizing, he accused us of sitting at the table on which the tablecloths were. It turns out that if the tablecloth is on the table, this means that it is a table for dinner. but if you do not work in restaurants you should not know. we got a spoiled evening and a good experience not to come back here . Never back.More

Really should avoid all these eateries near beach complete tourist traps. My Seabass was not thoroughly cooked hence so rubbery I could barely cut it. Was sick to my stomach after lunch. I should’ve sent it back but the Spanish are such nice people. Nice...staff just you can tell they don’t understand the basic importance of CLV aka Customer lifetime value. They put in zero effort in quality of food because they will always have 1 time tourists curious to try them out due to the patio beach etc. Really bad food. Avoid these beach eateries near Port Olympic. The Ceviche had no lemon or lime juice so not authentic at all and the garlic mussels were just fad. Next!More
