Nice location, ok food, grumpy staff!

Came here for lunch on Sunday. They would have been better to tell us to go away! Instead we sat and waited, probably 20 - 25 minutes before anyone asked us if we wanted drinks. Soon after we were told the menu has to be accessed through a QR code - maybe they could have told us that when they pointed us ( yes pointed, not taken to) our table! Not one smile. Not one interaction, other than to repeat our orders. Frankly they were downright miserable, every single one of them! Food was ok, but there are restaurants in the town that are better. And definitely staff that have personality!!!

Deserved reputation but note the temperature !

We were hotel guests at Hotel Jardin Tecina, which owns Club Laurel. We chose it on the basis of reviews and had to wait four days to get a table. Quite a few locals use it, which is usually a good sign. They serve a set menu, called ‘a tasting menu’, which changes daily and comprises seven courses. Naturally, with this style of restaurant, all courses are small, but the overall quantity would more than satisfy any normal appetite. The table service is excellent, although predictably slower as the numbers increase. All of the courses merit a four star rating, five being reserved for Michelin levels of cuisine. The house white was more than palatable. We went in Late February and the tables are within a draughty tent structure. Evenings winds are commonplace here and we were chilly, as this was our first visit. Savvy returners ALL wore body warmers, jumpers, jackets. We were stupid enough to wear light clothing and suffered a little. The restaurant should really warn people of this, although our lack of common sense partly absolves them ! We would certainly return, although wearing more layers.

Delightful setting

This is part of the hotel Jardin de Techina and is located in their beach club. The dining area overlooks the beach. The tasting menu at €39.90 is a bit pricy but the food is good and the menu changes daily. There is a la carte also and an adjacent less formal restaurant with pizza etc. We enjoyed our meal here

A missed opportunity

With its fabulous location club Laurel should be a superb place to eat …sadly this is not the case. We arrived via the hotel entrance were given very poor direction to even find the restaurant- From the start poor/rude service - insisting on QR codes to order which given no phn signal was impossible! Reluctantly given an iPad to look at in the end but not shown full menu …Eventually order taken and starters were good - however main courses extremely poor and were taken off the bill as we could not eat them. Lacked any atmosphere and staff all looked pretty miserable a real shame :(

Unfortunately little quality in such a beautiful environment

Reservations were only possible for 8:30 p.m., although almost all the tables were free. Service was okay. The main course was unimaginative and tasteless. It's a shame, the restaurant is in a beautiful location and is cozy.

Fantastic vegan menu in a cave for 2

We had an average vegan menu, but this in a romantic cave for us 2. The menu started with a sparcling eine in the Club Laurel and the selection of the drinks for the menu. The Service showed us the romantic cave with a relaxing bed and the table..both in a cave with ocean View of Playa Santiago. The menu was with a tomato Salat, bread, tofu with mushrooms and rice and majacuja Sorbet and fruits delicious, but could be better for this happening. But the Service, the Location ist fantastic.

Dreadful music

We have had two dinners recently at the Trattoria, both very good as was the service. The down side was the dreadful music at the most recent which was very intrusive techno sound. I am sure most clients would prefer to listen to the sea but if the management are convinced that music is essential at least please put on something appropriate to the venue and the demographic of the majority of the customers.

Missing out on lovely dishes because of shivering with cold

We liked the food and the service was good. However, the location was outside and too cold. I had normal evening clothing for an evening here but I should have worn a winter warm coat and warm winter trousers. We had to sit outside without any form of heating. Because I felt so cold I couldn’t really enjoy all the dishes which my husband said were just great.

An Italian themed restaurant serving good food at reasonable prices in a very pleasant atmosphere. We did not stay at the hotel but walked from the centre of town along the coast. Good service too

First time we've had a restaurant, all to ourselves, with a double bed in, also!!

A unique experience, You are escorted to a cave, where a table is set and the waiter then leaves (we had chosen our menu on arrival). Then a pulley delivers your first of 3 courses. You serve yourself, no time limit, and then reload and the process starts again, fabulous.

Really good and interesting food

We had dinner included in our stay at Jardín Tecina, but wanted to try something different, and in the packaged we could eat the 7 courses taste menu at Club Laurel for only additional 9,95 €. And it was really at good experience, good food and wine. And some challenging dishes.... so all in all a good experience and can for sure be recommended.
