During our six weeks in Torremolinos, we stopped by here almost every day for a drink and tapas. More often than not, Cesar, an Argentinean expat, was the waiter. A glass of white wine and a pint of beer cost less than five euro or roughly $7.50 Canadian. We should note that a glass of wine at the Tapateca – and most everywhere else in Spain – is anywhere between a fifth and a quarter of a bottle. By contrast, back home in Canada a misery glass of wine (say, 4 ounces or roughly 110 ml) can cost as much as $12 or 8 euro. In addition, Cesar generally brought us a little tapas on the house – as he does for most anyone who simply drops by for a drink. And their food is really good. The cooks take pride in their work and it shows. The chicken curry tapas, for example, are unmatched on Calle Salvador Allende. You want a t-bone steak? They have that, too, and more. In years past, La Tapateca was almost exclusively a place for the locals but other tourists have started finding the place and that’s good: a little Spanish goes a long way in these parts…!

La Tapateca on C.Salvador Allende is one of the many bars/pubs and restaurant's in Torremolinos we went to on a day trip from Benalmádena. A superb tapas bar with fantastic staff and located in a great area'La Tapateca has a typical Spanish style interior with excellent seating options and a superb terrace. When we visited here we sat on the terrace and ordered a few drinks which were a few bottles of San Miguel brewery lagers which where served iced cold and well priced for the beers we had and the tapas dish which they gave us. La Tapateca is well worth visiting and easy to find from Salvador Allende bus stop it's a minute away.(This is my first review of La Tapateca). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-07.30-00.00. Nearest Bus Stop. Salvador Allende bus stop.

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around Calle Salvador Allende when we decided to drop into La Tapateca , a wonderful tapa bar I always enjoy visiting. A traditional Spanish bar,a lovely interior, eclectic decor and furnishings, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar both inside and outside on their terrace. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, September weather was awesome, temperatures in the mid 90's, we sat outside were a very pleasant member of the bar team served us a beer each, we chose bottles of San Miguel beer, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and accompanied with a tasty tapa, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the sun while sipping our beers. My beer was really good, San Miguel beer is a light and hoppy beer, very refreshing especially on such a hot afternoon, its the beer I most associate with Spain 🇪🇸. We really enjoyed our beers in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. La Tapateca is easy to locate along Calle Salvador Allende, a street and area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

We've eaten here last year, but it really felt like we were being ripped off as tourists this year? 😡 We ordered one bottle of house wine, one sea food plato, and a gambas pill pill. Plus bread. The special board offered the plato items at €8.95 each. The food was okay, although the prawns were literally swimming in way too much oil. We have had gambas pill pill from many restaurants before here, so we do have some knowledge to make a comparison. The waitress couldn't speak much English but said our bill came to €41 plus euros, and said their machine was down, so couldn't print out our bill or receipt? 🤔 so couldn't see any costing? It seemed pretty expensive for a back street tapas bar? They didn't even wrap our wine in a cooler either. We've had the same wine for far cheaper in better places. Needles to day we left without leaving a tip! We will not be returning, far nicer places to spend your money!

This is a traditional Spanish cafeteria selling some lovely tapas dishes. Inside, they have a glass canteen with tapas food (well worth taking a look to see what's available in ther), along with a menu for other dishes. We had the gambas pilpil and the chicken curry tapas. Both were really good and very tasty. The white Rudea wine was so good, we ordered a bottle, it came with a sleeve to keep cool while we ate. Service was also very good. Will definitely return for more.

During previous visits to Torremolinos, this was our go-to café/bar. The food was really good, the service was excellent and friendly and it was more-or-less the local hot spot, especially when there was a big match on the big-screen TV between Spanish La Liga teams. The place next door (El Manjar Playa) seems to have taken over as the go-to spot to eat for locals but even if you speak Spanish, that establishment is not very friendly with tourists. We know. The food at the Tapateca is okay but somehow, it lacks the zip it did in the past. The service is still good although there were times when we dropped by to find the place virtually deserted and it was a while before we got the attention of someone so we could order.

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around this area of Torremolinos when we decided to drop into La Tapateca and what another great visit we had. A great looking tavern ,interior is big ,traditional and really pleasing on the eye ,a cool looking serving bar dominates the main room ,pubby decor and furnishings ,big screens to enjoy the sport and lots of seating options both inside and outside ,it's just a great tavern to chill out in . We were here on a roasting hot early afternoon ,we grabbed a table were we ordered and were served a coffee each ,these were served steaming hot and from the first sip till the last sup you can tell they use quality ingredients in their coffee and take great pride in the coffee they serve ,hardly surprising this tavern is so popular with coffee of this quality. We really enjoyed our coffee's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time . La Tapateca is easy to locate along Calle De Salvadore Allende. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

We have walked past here on a few occasions, and decided to give it a go as our apartment complex was only 2 doors away. Not much to look at from the outside but were greeted well by the host. We ordered of the tapas menu (4 for €12, but we had 8). What stunning food it was. Well cooked, well presented and at a price happy to the pocket. Will certainly be going back on our next trip out here

The place surprised us, we thought it was a taperia like many others, but instead we found a home cooking restaurant, considering this term as a compliment. Fair prices, very friendly staff. it is not a romantic place or a modern and chic place but if you just want to eat and have a chat with friends it can do the trick for you. PS the fried octopus was excellent

Popped in for a lunch as it was raining. A restaurant used almost only by Spanish although we were made most welcome. Local workers lunching made for a friendly noisy atmosphere. The lunch menu was 8.85E but we had other specialities. Food and service were great and we intend to lunch here again before we go home.

La Tapateca is a Spanish tapas restaurant and bar on C.Salvador Allende that offer a superb range of Spanish dishes and a very well priced drinks menu and was one of the many excellent pub's/bars and restaurants we visited in Torremolinos. La Tapateca interior is excellent and has a traditional Spanish look and feel with many interesting features and a brilliant covered outside terrace and when we went here we sat outside as it was a roasting hot day. We have visited La Tapateca several time's over the years and we've had tapas dishes in here before which are excellent. This time we only had a few drinks as we'd just had a meal an hour before. When we visited here we had a few cups of coffee with milk which were very refreshing and well priced.La Tapateca is a fantastic tapas restaurant and bar and is well worth a visit if your in this area.(This is my second review of La Tapateca). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-07.30-00.00.

I spotted this cafe/ restaurant as it was close to my hotel. I saw the plate del dia menu outside and asked the family if they fancied it for one evening. I like the fact it had attracted genuine customers . We ordered from the plate del dia and took my 2 1/2 year old too. It is not a fancy setting but food was fresh, well presented and good quality. Service was genuine and professional- exactly what I like. Lovely meal . Thank you

We went for a pint and some tapas but ended up having a dinner as well. We ordered a mixed paella and it was very tasty! Prices in this restaurant are reasonable too. Also the staff is very friendly and service is fast.
