The food was good albeit they brought it out fast. The waiters were slow to bring drinks, slow to bring more drinks and altogether forgot some drinks. When we asked nicely about the drinks they were upset and indifferent. Did not feel welcome at all....More

I had a dinner here with some colleagues after a day at work. The restaurant is really nice, it looks informal and traditional but with a lot of character. They serve mainly Apfelwein - but honestly I do not like it (in general) - and...More

We dined here as a large party with pre-ordered menu. Starter was simple and tasty but loved the roast goose main course with dumplings and pickled cabbage.

Nice and cosy local. As obligatory we tried the local apple wine. The beers are better. Large and delicious portions, especially the goose.

What a great place hidden away from the mainstream side of town. This area is very medieval, dark cobbled streets coupled with old Tudor type buildings. The restaurant was absolutely packed but we managed to squeeze in. The Käsespätzle and the famous Frankfurter Schnitzel with...More

Description
Welcome "home" –Daheim-- at the Lorsbacher Thal The history of our exceptional tavern dates back to 1803. Since this time the “apple wine dynasty” has lived and worked here. To this day, the building is still owned by descendants of the founding family. In August of 2014, we (re)opened Lorsbacher Thal, as new tenants. In doing so, our purpose was not merely to operate an historical tavern, but rather to uncover and polish this gastronomical “rough diamond”, while retaining all of the warmth and charm of its historic setting. As one of the oldest apple wine taverns in the city, our historic rooms have seen and experienced much. (Despite legend to the contrary, we have no record that Napoleon ever dined here.) It is both our pleasure and obligation, now as guardians of the tradition of the original tavern, to lead it to a memorable, successful future. What does this mean for our guests? We would like to welcome you and take care of you - just like “at home” --Daheim. That’s why we chose this word, combined with the renowned phrase, "Lorsbacher Thal". In keeping with this ambition, our tavern has been decorated with historical family photos, art, books, magazines, games, lots of candles and cushions. We want to create a comfortable atmosphere in which you feel cozy. Our guests immediately become our friends, who are that visiting us at home; sharing a superb glass of wine and getting something delicious to eat. This is what we treasured from our own travels around the world, and the experience we offer to our guests. You can take us and our team by our word; we are all here to take care of you. And — should it not be as we have promised — let us know. Only then we can continuously develop and work on our promises. Take your time and enjoy our true, artisan cuisine, which has been refined with a contemporary twist. Everything is freshly prepared, with organic ingredients from the region! We know where our food is coming from. Antonio de Costa, our chef de cuisine, does not use any flavor enhancers, mixed spices or "prefabricated" ingredients. We always try to naturally enhance the taste of the original dish. This takes our team in the kitchen needs a little more time. But the wait is worth it! Like any restaurant of distinction and ambition, we are immensely proud of our cuisine, while we remain intensely curious about our guests reactions to their culinary experiences Daheim. Should you not be satisfied with the preparation or the taste of a dish, please let us know. We embrace your constructive criticism! This is the only way to reach our aspired and lasting quality. Thank you for visiting us and “Bon appetite” Pia and Frank Winkler and our colleagues
