We had an excellent dinner there with some of the best steaks we ever had in our lives. High quality meat, prepared perfectly, a tasty bottle of read wine (Syrah), friendly and always attentive service (Tina). The location itself is quite modern, but elegant and warm. In walking distance to the famous Elbphilharmonie.

We ordered their lunch specials: steak & fries (but I opted for Thai tomato salad instead of fries, very recommended if you like fresh, sweet and sour side dish) + burger & fries. Homemade bearnaise sauce for the steak was super, chili curry mayo for the fries was spicy but not too hot. The food was great but what made it even better was the friendly waiter. He spoke very good English, welcomed us with lots of smile and energy, took the time to explain the menu and drinks choices, even advised us about a South African wine region we never heard of (Swartland).

First visit here although we have been often in this region. We booked a table in advance as it is pretty small and gets fast full on a Friday evening.
The menu is not big, for a steakhouse I would expect a bigger meat variety. It still has enough sauces and side dishes for you to choose as well as a wine list.
Everything we took was carefully prepared with special attention to detail. Tasted good and was cooked to the right point.
The Japanese cocktail was also very tasteful, I liked the baby goat beer a lot!
The salt portions on the meat and side dishes was proper and the portions perfect.
The prices are a little high but we still found them acceptable and we were very satisfied with our visit.
We will come back again.

Modern restaurant and bar in the hafencity area with great service. We ordered the special dish; a tomahawk steak to share with the three of us grilled on the Jason grill. The steak was perfectly medium rare grilled; tender from the inside and crispy from the outside. The perfect seasoning together with the excellent Malbec wine made this a superb dinner.

Great location very close to the Elbphilharmonie if you are going for a concert there. Steaks are great, service is fantastic - our waiter even took a shot with us! Restaurant is not very big so you will be sitting close to your neighbors. If you are in the area and want steaks or a burger I would recommend it.

Fairly small place with a great bar and a cocktail book rather than menu. Had the Argentinian ribeye (the Australian one on the menu is unavailable due to tranport problems from AUS) and it was grilled to perfection and super quality.
The tomato salad had a japanese touch and the chimichurri did fit perfectly. Service is friendly and attentive. Always on the list when visiting Hamburg.

We had dinner at this restaurant after reading the reviews and I must say we were really pleased. The restaurant is really nice, tastefully decorated, the staff is prepared and very kind, and above all we ate really well, from tartare to roasted octopus, passing through ribs and beef, ending with the black forest. Excellent wine list. Too bad I didn't try the cocktails, they looked really good! It will be for next time.

I can’t believe I went to the same place as all the 5 star reviews. To us only menu in German was available. The barman was great with his wine recommendations and friendliness. The waitress (only female member of staff visible ) seemed to care if we were enjoying the experience (offered more bread and more aioli ) I guess the fact she was the only one with genuine hospitality could be a reason why her male colleagues seemed to be very harsh with her ( I only speak a little German but you can get a lot from tone and body language). The steaks were cooked perfectly. But really that should be a given. Truffled chips way too salty, sundried tomatoes missed from the green salad and when that was questioned, the response was they were not on the menu whilst they were clearly printed on it. The dish selected to serve the crème brûlée just serves to ensure you can’t have the custard without the burnt sugar at any point. And to finish as we stood up to leave through the door we originally entered we were told abruptly that this (apparently) was not the door but the door was the one behind us. This compounded the below par experience this expensive meal was.

Cozy restaurant. Superb food - really delicious! All the waiters were happy and friendly. In a good mood and sounded with each other too, and it's contagious. You were allowed to choose your own steak knife and you were given the option of cold or room-temperature water. A lot of small details that make the experience perfect!

A lovely summer evening on the Boothaus terrace was ⁇ in full with a perfect dinner.
We chose to taste a ribeye with vegetables. The steak was well prepared and the accessories had a nice taste that made the meal a true pleasure.
The service was attentive and quite in top, even though it was busy. One of the waiters responsible for the wine recommended a tasty wine, which we agreed to after we both had a taste.

In other words: in a great extra room just for our group all courses were served so that auc everyone could eat/taste everything. The quality of food and service was just great. There were four of us in the boathouse today with friends. We knew it wasn't going to be an inexpensive night. But it was terrible. We ate four steaks with some side dishes. No starter and no dessert. The fun cost 405€. If only it had been good. It was fine in taste. You get a naked steak on a gray plate without decoration . Each small side dish costs extra and some were very salty. Worst of all, the service. We almost called the restaurant to say Table 10 needed you. Incredible

We had dinner for my friend's 40th birthday and the staff could not have done more to make this a truly special occasion. The steak exceptional, the best meal I can remember, but the service was even better. Sometimes with fine dining, the atmosphere can seem snobby or even intimidating, but not at Bootshaus, who have some of the nicest staff you could have the pleasure of meeting and are a credit to the hospitality industry. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal. If I come back to Hamburg this this will be the first place I come to!

I was able to give my mother an unforgettable birthday evening here.
Service is 5 stars with distinction, I have very rarely experienced this level.
Everything was perfect here, from the design of the furniture to the food to the way the jacket was hung up.
Explanation of the meat, right down to the choice of knives and the right wine for each course.
