Best sushi in Stuttgart

We came again after 3 years and we were positively surprised how tasteful it was this time. Last time I didn't like the rice but today everything was just perfekt. Fresh fish and tasteful rice, service perfect. No waiting at all. We will come back soon.

THE Japanese in Stuttgart!

Kicho has been an institution in Stuttgart for many, many years. Sushi can now be found in every supermarket. But that is no comparison to the unbelievably good sushi that the master chef at Kicho creates from the freshest ingredients. All other dishes on the very extensive menu are also top quality; my personal highlight is the grilled salmon. Plus perfect service, Japanese style; a rarity in Asian restaurants these days.

Japanese evening

After we were in Japan last year, we wanted to refresh our fond memories with a Japanese dinner. We were given a very warm welcome. The food was of high quality and tasted excellent. The service was attentive and friendly. The Japanese beer went well with the fish dishes. For dessert, we had matcha ice cream and sesame ice cream, really Japanese. Highly recommended! Thanks to the service team for the pleasant evening.

The quality is great but the portions are super inconsistent. Paid €80 for an omakase and it could barely feed a single person. Very overpriced.

A little pricey, but the food was amazing

The food here was delicious! We tried the ramen, tempura udon noodles, and sushi, all of which were amazing. Additionally, the service was great. My only complaint would be that I thought the prices were a little expensive for soups. But aside from that, I recommend it.

We have been coming to this restaurant on and off for the past five years and we have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious and the sushi the best in town. Derive is friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Authentic restaurant, awesome food, perfect service

Awesome!! Very Japanese in service, ambiance and food quality! We ordered 2 boats - one of sashimi and one of sushi and both were amazing. Special mention to the matcha dessert combination. And bonus point for the service - maybe I am too used to German restaurants but in Kicho, you just make eye contact with a waiter and 2 second later they are very politely asking what you want. Would definitely go back!

Nice Japanese Restaurant in Stuttgart

Definitely one of the best Japanese Restaurant in Stuttgart. Very good quality, nice ambient and great service. By the way it was impressive that after few minutes our first dish was served. Great job. The fish has really quality and the taste remember me the same as my mother-in-law (a Japanese Lady) used to prepare for us. Well, the price is moderate, but if you go for lunch, it is well balanced. Make your own experience. I recommend it!

Incredible dinner

I was there for dinner on Sunday. The food is simply fantastic, the atmosphere quite close to some of the places I have visited in Japan, including a lot of tables packed quite close together ;) Will go there again.

Excellent flavours, really fresh

We had lunch here (four people) and all loved what we got. Sushi, Sashimi and Tonkatsu bento box. The sushi and sashimi are really fresh as you would expect for a good Japanese restaurant. The pickled ginger was a thing of beauty (yes, it's one of the highlights for me!). Unlike many places where the ginger has a little heat and has been pickled for a long time, this place seems to have very fresh pickled ginger - still the colour of fresh ginger root and still with the heat of fresh ginger root. Fabulous. The tonkatsuo bento box was a lovely mixture of flavours and textures (although I wasn't a fan of the somewhat soggy salmon pieces). The miso soup was very nice and had some mushrooms in it which I thought was a little unusual and a nice touch. We had a variety of teas (green tea, smoked green tea and sesame tea) all of which were good. For lunch the prices were good although I understand that in the evening it's significantly more costly. Our lunch cost under 100 euros for four people.

This is an excellent restaurant with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The service was more than competent, and our waiter spoke English well. The menu is extensive, and that's usually not a good sign. Our table ordered Soba and I found the noodles to be correctly prepared and the broth respectable, not spectacular. We had a round of tempura that was delicious, crunchy, light, and traditionally garnished. My sashimi moriawase platter was quite good as well. I think the thing I liked best was the ambience. For sure we will visit again when in Stuttgart, and I would recommend it to you too.

I am from Japan, and i can just recommend this restaurant to all of you. I love Kicho! it brings me something back from home. Of course you can‘t compare it to the food in Japan, but in Stuttgart its the best Japanese restaurant.

Top sushi - very nice peoole

Small place and a little bit difficult to find a parking place but it is worth it the visit. The food is very good and in front of you prepared. The people are profis, the rice not salty at all. We ate A LOT and we liked everything that we tried. The people are really nice and do their best to make you happy while at the same time they do it with their whole heart in it. So, we will definitely visit again. Ps: book in advance, the place is popular Ps²: prices are good

Great date night

The quality of the sushi was amazing. My boyfriend took me here for my 25th birthday and honestly I was in sushi heaven. The tuna was so delicate and delicious it almost melts in your mouth. The service was friendly. Definitely would go here again.
