We spent the nights around new years eve in Stuttgart and visited the hotel and restaurant. Both are amazing in style and qualitiy. We loved the dinner and the michelin star is totaly justified. Paid around 165 EUR per person with 6 courses for dinner. Additional to all courses there are a bunch of starters and small refreshments and pralinés/desserts.

A great place to go with friends or as a couple. As a vegetarian is was spoiled. Each vegetarian alternative was at least as creative and tasty as the meat-dish. The Zauberlehrling has mastered the combination of 'relaxed, be yourself' dining with top cuisine and excellent service. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

The moment where we entered the restaurant, we understood we enter a poetical and magical universe. The head chef Fabian Heldmann uses creative techniques and a great savoir-faire to create a beautiful culinary experience for his guests. Every dish is a surprise, the attention to details, to colors, to textures, to their taste and beauty is absolutely fantastic. The service is impeccable. We had a fantastic dinner and we loved this joyful ode to poetry and cuisine. Perfect restaurant for a special occasion or celebration. Thank you to the Team for this wonderful experience.

The food and service are of a high standard, which is to be expected for a menu of this price. In total, we paid around €1,500 for 8 people, including the wine. Unfortunately, two things struck us as very negative and spoiled the mood of what was actually a great evening with lots of culinary delicacies: - We were charged €8 for the “sip” of red wine to try. I expect the service staff to point this out to the guest immediately. - The much worse faux pas was the demand for the parking fee of €20 for 3 hours after we had already paid and said goodbye outside. Here we were “intercepted” again and it was pointed out that the parking fee had been forgotten to be collected (without having pointed this out beforehand). The last impression is the lasting one. I can only appeal to the service staff to think in advance about how they feel when they send the guest home.

My conclusion up front: the price does not match the service. I would have given 2-3 stars, but after the response from the management to my feedback, only 1 star remains. I booked the 1001 Nights Suite in December with the menu plus wine accompaniment. I expected more from the suite for this price. There were nice design ideas in it, but it was not really comfortable. The mosaics on the sink were partially broken, you had to try the light switches a lot before the light finally came on. With the TV, you had to fight your way through the first hundred channels until you found something, because they were all blocked because of HD. If you use the shower's own creation, you can't get to the toilet dry afterwards because everything is under water. The window of the toilet and bathtub is not opaque. So the house opposite can see everything. Wild cables in the bedroom, the wooden bed creaked a lot so that you woke up with every movement. The description said fireplace, OK, I guess I was expecting too much. It was a large wobbly frame with a metal box at the bottom (picture) that you use to burn spirit. The thing was so wobbly and you could see the plaster panels from the side. I have never seen such dirty glasses in a hotel (picture). The management's response was of course to blame the staff, sick, new, etc. The suite is more of an unusual AirBNB (309€/night), nothing more. The management's response was friendly, but the room is a bit older, I should have just booked a different one if I didn't like the design. And I'm happy to book again, then I would probably be happy. I certainly won't do that. The menu was good and the staff very friendly, but the price was not justified. The highlight was a piece of Iberico pork. Most of the ingredients were peas and pumpkin, though. With a menu for 199 euros per person, I somehow expected something different. The portions were so tiny, we would have been completely hungry if there hadn't been 2 bread baskets with it. One positive thing was that the wine was refilled more than adequately. Unfortunately, a piece of the dessert plate had broken off the edge. The management said on the phone that they were expensive and would continue to be used. In a Michelin-starred restaurant? The restaurant's flagship product is the walk-in wine cabinet with large glass panes that were dirty on Saturday evening. For the high amount we paid, what we got was not worth it. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this place to anyone.

We had a wonderful evening at the Zauberlehrling! The first-class kitchen delighted us with its exquisite dishes. The selection of delicious wines rounded off the culinary experience perfectly. In addition, the food was served on beautiful dishes, which made the atmosphere of the evening even more special. An absolute highlight for gourmets!

We have been to the Sorcerer's Apprentice Restaurant several times and are always impressed. Everything is just right here. Very nice atmosphere, perfect, competent and always friendly service and, above all, of course, an outstanding menu. The dishes are consistently delicious, extremely creative, imaginative and wonderfully coordinated in terms of taste and are presented with devotion. Enjoyment from the first to the last minute. Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Stuttgart.

An 8-course New Year's Eve menu of the highest quality! Super in terms of taste and lightness. Beautifully decorated and enhanced by a very fine wine accompaniment. The view from the roof terrace over Stuttgart's roofs into the sea of lights from the many firecrackers with a glass of champagne in your hand, what more could you want?

Highly recommend for a special evening. Up to seven course selection with wine pairings. We went with the six course. We had the aperitif to start and a couple of starters to get our appetite going. Everything was fantastic. I had the deer for my main and it was perfection. Check out the photos. I added the menu to help describe the dishes. Service was perfect and spoke English with us. Again, highly recommend for a fantastic evening.

We had dinner here on our honeymoon for my Husband's birthday. It was amazing. the food took us on a magical story. The food is not only excellent, but has that added wow factor that leaves in completely impressed. I would definitely come back next time we're in Stuttgart. The waiter was also fantastic and throughly explained all the meals. Simply a wonderful wow experience.

I got a good vibe from the moment I set foot in this restaurant. It is small, cosy and very spacious for german standards. They have some different tasting menus. We went for the fish menu. Before we got to the menu itself, they brought us some appetizers that were quite innovative. Most of the meal itself was a combination of tastiness and innovation. I would say I liked every dish. All the fish that we got was perfectly cooked, and combined quite expertly. I would specially recommend the seafood risotto, the flavour was absolutely stunning. You cannot really go wrong, everything they were bringing to other tables looked awesome as well. They had a lot of nice touches. They have different types of homemade salts for example, that were unique and delicious. The waiters were very nice and explained all the dishes very patiently. It helped that the restaurant was not very full when we were there, but regardless, we were treated very well. And they had a water "flat rate", so to say, which meant that you could get as much water as you wanted, which is basically unheard for a german restaurant. All in all the experience was superb. I would heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone. The quality is comparable to a Michelin Star restaurant, and the price, while expensive, is actually cheaper than some comparable restaurants. Do not miss the wizard cooks!

Chef Fabian Heldmann promises a magical menu and that is exactly what you get. An adventure with bombs of beetroot, manderins on natrium, vegetables that are hidden under a foam of truffle, butterfish with a sour sauce...and much much more. It was a feast all the way and the wines lifted the experience even higher. You have a lot of restaurants that are fabulous. There are only some that are sublime. Fabian creates a German-Japanese blend that is just amazing.

The hotel and restaurant Zauberlehrling, means sorcerer's apprentice, is really a magic place. Since 1993 Axel Heldmann is the chef & patron of that outstanding hotel and restaurant. I am visiting that place now since 10 years and Axel Heldmann improves that magic place year by year and year by year it´s getting a more magic and cool touch. I traveled the world and I saw lots of cool boutique style restaurants and hotels but I don´t know if there is a more cool place like the Stuttgart Zauberlehrling. The food, the hotel, the rooms, the bar, all is just kind of magic!!! For pictures you can also visit my fine dining blog under fine-dining.blog I think you have to visit that place to understand - but be careful not getting enchanted ;-)

In restaurants of this caliber you are almost certain of what to expect. Despite the spare or lengthy description of each course you will almost always find foam of one sort or another, ice cream made from savory ingredients like basil or beet root or foie gras. At De Zauberlehring (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) the menu lists the most basic contents for each course but delivers so much more. We choose four courses from their Magic Menu and wished we hadn’t left out the salmon, we’ll never know what we missed. The courses we enjoyed had their own identity, were full of flavor and only one handful of foam but no odd quenelles of ice cream. Our first course was a masterful balance of flavours given we only had the three ingredients listed on the menu to tell us what to expect. Pulpo. shrimp and chorizo were the listed ingredients, what arrived was a ring of warm-ish potato mash topped with a seviche of shrimp, grilled pulpo with a pool of chorizo flavored jus in the center, decorated with sliced strawberries. You may think, not a combination most would put together but it works in a spectacular way. Neither of the ingredients dominates, each one compliments the others. The biggest surprise was how well the potato supported each ingredient in both a physical sense and complementary to each ingredient. Chef Fabian Heldmann personally came to the table with two fillets of mackerel that had been cooked sous vide. He then played a blow torch over the scored skin to give it a crisp finish. The fillets were laid on a plate and we ate it all without hesitation. Another course was veal with sweetbreads, each more succulent than the other. The only foam was part of the cheese course. It was Champagne foam with thin shards of chèvre cheese floating on top of the foam which covered a bed of chopped nuts. Every ingredient of a cheese course you’d expect but in a very different and delicious way. Desert was the highlight. Not a mousse or a cream but a nest of what looked like shredded wheat topped with an egg shape of thin white chocolate that contained a delicious nougat. More imagination and adventure than you’ll usually find. With every mouthful, there was fascination for the tastebuds. The restaurant is well run my Dennis Shipley, the wait staff is personable and professional. There’s real talent in the kitchen all of whom wan tot explore flavor and texture combinations that are no part of the norm in most restaurants today. The bread is warm and comes with a cone of Yuzu flavored butter and vials of different salts. The accompanying wine courses blends German and French wines. The dining room is small, There’s a boutique hotel attached and the neighborhood is funky. Well worth your time and effort in you’re ever in Stuttgart.
