Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've known the restaurant and its proprietor for some years when I moved in the neighborhood and since then I've been there several times, having the chance to try almost all the dishes.
There is a wide variety to choose from: some are always available and some other that need a long preparation should be ordered in advance.
All the dishes I've tried over time were always delicious and this opinion has always been shared by everyone at my table when I went with friends.
Being a foodie and amateur cook myself, the owner was always glad to stop by and have a chat about how the dishes are prepared and about the Georgian cuisine in general.
Some of the dishes I'd recommend are the spicy beef stew Ostri and the grilled pork dishes Ojachuri and Mtsvadi Ketse. Besides the Kinkali, for which there's always space :)
The bean or meat filled Georgian breads are also delicious and are an excellent accompaniement for the above meats, but also alone.

We were staying in the area and had never had Georgian food before, so we gave this a try.
The staff explained the dishes and gave some recommendations, which was really helpful.
The food itself was very tasty and nicely cooked. We both liked everything we tried. Particularly the beans were really tasty.

The food is delicious and plentiful. It is a special experience to order food there. Don't get me wrong, the atmosphere is friendly, but they also strive to provide an authentic experience. Non-traditional orders are pointed out immediately. We had an excellent evening. 5/5 and would gladly come back.

Good food and friendly staff. The menu selection is a small selection of Georgian classics. Even vegetarians can find a number of delicious options.

Good food - breads and shared starters very good, complimentary flavours such as pomegranate were great.
Pork from the oven entree was excellent, though do check the menu or ask your server to confirm what the main dishes are served with, as there was a great variety on our table.
Just a few metres down the hill from the tram stop, well worth a visit for something a little different. All in restaurant were very welcoming.

Thanks to trip advisor for this find. Looking for somewhere different, this looked interesting. Downloaded menu from internet and with help of google translate managed to find some unusual dishes. Aubergine with walnut paste and pomegranate, cheese bread, pancakes stuffed with spiced meat and rice, pasta dumplings stuffed with meat and herbs. All were very tasty, great waitress who helped with eating tips (you use your hands to eat the dumplings so you slurp out the juices). Will be coming back with friends when next back in town.

At Tshito-Gwrito we were pampered in every way possible, from delicious red wine to exceptional and well-seasoned local dishes, to personal contact with interesting information despite the restaurant being full. Just go there and try it out!
