we spent one night in Stuttgart after some sightseeing during the day. Looking for a decent place for dinner near our hotel, this place showed up on trip advisor. We could not have known that this was going be one of the BEST Italian meals we’ve had. Following the directions provided by the GPS, it did not look like we were heading anywhere near a restaurant. A left turn off the main road lead to a parking lot attached to a sports complex, and at one and was the building that housed the restaurant. We were a little early for dinner so there weren’t very many people in the restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the staff who had a weird accent (which we would later discover was a cross between Italian and German). Perusing the menu we saw lots of Italian favorites, and a few Germans staples. There were, however, a few Italian dishes that I did not recognize, and which I also found intriguing. My wife always says that the quality of an Italian restaurant can be determined by how well they do carbonara, so that is what she ordered. I went with the noodle (paccheri from the Campania region) I had never heard of before, which was essentially a wide tubular noodle with spinach in a blue cheese sauce. They had a reasonable selection of both white and red wines to accompany our food. The entrees were delivered promptly and looked delicious. We had hardly tucked into our food before the chef came out of the kitchen and explained to us that all the pasta was handmade that day. It was readily apparent after the first bite that the chef, not only was Italian, but obviously knew what he was doing. I finished my entrée, as well as the little bit of carbonara my wife didn’t finish. My wife had noticed that tiramisu was on the dessert menu, so we decided to share a piece of that, to which I added an espresso and limoncello. The gentlemen running a restaurant were very friendly and helpful. There is no question that this is an off-the-beaten path gem of a restaurant. If you ever find yourself in Stuttgart, in need of dinner plans, you cannot go wrong by seeking out this restaurant and enjoying a fantastic meal. Arrivederci gentlemen! Highly recommended

Great Italien Restaurant wäre you con enjoy both fish and meat based dishes 100% typical Italian.
We go often there and we feel always like home, being an Italian we can definitely recommend it!
We love how the prepare fish dishes and the professional service and the honest price! Moreover the Italian wine selection is well structured covering all Italian regions and representing very well the southern white and red wines.
Also their wine shop is great and offer hones prices!
Is mine and my boyfriend lovely place!
Worth going every time and strongly recommended!

If you are looking for great food with an understated ambience of class and elegance, this is the place for you. We were a party of four on a Friday evening. It can be a challenge to find somewhere to enjoy a great meal without the busy humming's of some establishments. Da Salvo met our needs on both fronts. The service was great. (We may have actually been served by one of the owners- female). Dinner was a little bit of a wait, but we had delicious appetizers and bread. I actually thought that the food came faster than quite a few other restaurants that we have frequented, but we had a few hungry mouths to feed. The pasta was cooked to perfection. I had
the seafood pasta or frutti di mare, and while there was no broth, it was surprisingly delicious. The clean plates left by almost everyone was a testimony to how much the meal was appreciated by all. We were so satisfied that no one wanted dessert. We will definitely be back.

We have been coming back to Salvo for many years. Here, Italy is served on the table, he uses the best ingredients, has a great selection of wines and the kitchen knows its craft. The service is always friendly. Sometimes a little patience is required, but as a guest you see when it is busy and understand that. Any wait is definitely worth it. Salvo's daily recommendations are always very good.

This is a very friendly family run restaurant. We were earliesh but the place became very full; it was Friday. My husband went with the complete menu and I had the fish, both reasonably priced. The food is very good and the ingredients seem very fresh, especially the fish. The grilled fish was very good even without a sauce and the portion was generous. The vegetable gratinee was tasty but the farfalle sauce could have been more flavorful--perhaps with smoked salmon. It also tasted very similar to the sauce on the veal. The house wine was very good and well priced. Overall the food here is simple but tasty. We also appreciated the parking

The fact that one is warmly welcome is extremely true here and is not just an advertising statement! The cuisine is unbelievably good, no vegetables as deliciously prepared as here and even more so the fish, not a second too short or too long on the grill - just masterful! We went there for dinner for a birthday. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. The food was exceptional, the service very friendly. You can also eat pizza here, but we definitely recommend fish or meat. The prawns, fish platter, etc. were exceptionally good! Highly recommended.

A restaurant where everything is just right. Friendly, competent advice and service. A starter platter that was of excellent quality. The fish in a salt crust was as good as it could be. Good wines! Conclusion: A successful evening in a great atmosphere and perfect quality. I would go back again and again and it is always worth recommending.

I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Yes, there are ALWAYS ups and downs, and that's the case here too. But here you will find a great service team and no over-the-top Italians, just normal people. The parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant are very nice, as long as they are used sensibly.

It is absolutely the best restaurant with Italian cuisine in Stuttgart. For work reasons I had the opportunity to try almost all of them and Salvo is the best ever. Very high quality of raw materials and very kind staff. Quality/price rating 10. Super recommended.

Best Italian food outside of Italy! For someone who misses Italy, this food and people made me feel at home. It is as if mama made the food herself like in the old days.
