We had a wonderful New Year's Eve at Zum Becher. The restaurant is delightfully Schwaebisch. The menu was limited for the holiday and that was fine, five typical meals with meat and two vegetarian options. The highlight was the Zweibel Rostbraten. Larger than what you get at most restaurants and close to 5 cm. thick. That allowed for a chance to get it done rare. The kitchen sent it out truly rare as an American would want. The spaetzle is home made and delicious. The salad was fresh with a great home made potato salad. My partner's veal was done perfectly too. The restaurant has an outstanding selection of local wines. Not a large number of wines, but very good ones at good prices. The crowd at Zum Becher is very mixed. Many young professionals along with the older Stuttgarters. All are there for an outstanding evening.

If you love Swabian cuisine and enjoy eating, you can't go wrong with Becher! Great food for lovers and international guests. We always enjoy coming back to Becher and are delighted. When asked, the very friendly service team recommended a suitable wine for each dish. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Becher.

We were warmly welcomed and were allowed to sit down immediately despite early arrival. The service by Steffen was super friendly, the recommended wine very suitable for Swabian food. We four women have everything tasted great, highly recommended as an appetizer is the soup with mules...we would go there again immediately!!!

Loved it all. Read all the reviews and decided to give it go. A small walk from our hotel and we were warmly welcomed by the fabulous staff ( we made a booking). We ordered the magical boiled beef and the mushroom ravioli, which were both sublime. My wife ordered non alcoholic beer and I ordered the wheat dark beer. Just wonderful. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant

Positives: The outside terrace area was very pleasant, especially during the warm evening. The starters were good. The German beers. Negatives: I'm not sure if it was just us but the service wasn't great as previous reviewers experienced. The main meals we had were both awful. I never ever complain but when asked how our food was I couldn't allow myself to say okay. It was the worst burger I'd eaten in a couple of decades; full of gristle and fat and utterly tasteless. My partners beef was also cooked to the point where it was like leather. To be fair our waiter did remove my burger from the bill. There are a lot of positive reviews of this restaurant and this is the only real bad one. However, sadly this was the worst meal we ate in Stuttgart during our 6 night stay.

The restaurant is located a little outside the busy center, directly behind the State Gallery. Despite this, or perhaps because of this, it is quite busy even during the week. The dining room is furnished in a slightly rustic style, and when the weather is good you can also sit in the green courtyard. The food is traditional Swabian and in the middle price range. We were very satisfied with the quality and taste. If there was something to improve, I could think of two things. The outdoor seating is the typical beer garden folding chairs. They serve their purpose, but are not very comfortable. As a second point, I would rethink the red wine selection. Friends of foreign wines are left out here. One or two good Italians would certainly be an asset. All in all, we would recommend the restaurant at any time.

Went here with my wife and teenage children for a taste of authentic local food, and we were very happy with the choice. Service was warm and welcoming, the decor was cozy, and the dishes were excellent. Would recommend highly if you are in this neighborhood and looking for good Schwabish food in a comfortable locale.

Very good regional and seasonal cuisine. Everything you would expect from a traditional Swabian inn is there, from the flail soup to the mule, from the schnitzel to the deer goulash. Of course, dessert lovers will also get their money's worth. The atmosphere in the restaurant is reminiscent of the good old tavern from times gone by. Here you like to spend cozy hours. Also worth mentioning is the wine list, which mainly offers wines from the region. An ideal start to the evening is the in-house creation 'Kessel-Spritz'. The staff is always very accommodating, fixed and very friendly. A visit is always worthwhile!

The Becher is definitely an insider tip for the city of Stuttgart, it is located in the theater and museum district. The cozy beer garden is a green oasis in the city. The interior has been beautifully renovated and invites you to come back in the cooler seasons. There are quarters and regional cuisine - Swabian, of course! This includes roast beef, which was perfect, and sauerbraten, a poem. The service is very good (you don't find that everywhere anymore!). We say thank you! Until next time.

Here you will meet a diverse crowd of all ages, consisting of regulars from the area and international visitors. The staff create a friendly, cheerful atmosphere. Drinks and food are of excellent quality. In addition to Swabian classics, the menu also offers selected international and vegetarian dishes using regional products. Whether in the cozy dining room or in the beautiful beer garden - always a worthwhile visit! Elisabeth Heß

Here you can find really good Swabian classics such as Gaisburger Marsch or Saure Kutteln. Now beautifully renovated and well attended, make sure you make a reservation at the weekend. Friendly service and usual prices for good food.

The food is excellent and the service from the innkeepers is first class. Very friendly and accommodating. Service was quick and after the meal we were given a nut schnapps on the house. We also took some porcini mushroom Maultaschen to take home 😋We will definitely be back next time we are in Stuttgart.

Typical Swabian cuisine is available here. Highly recommended. A young, committed team ensures that you are well looked after and that you always have a great evening there. The roast beef is a hit. And with a cellar beer to go with it. Perfect. Enjoy your meal everyone... We're always happy to come back.

Cult pub. Classic. No frills. Clean. Cloth tablecloths. Pub windows. Staff super friendly and attentive. Great fresh salad. Onion roast with wonderful steamed sweet onions and not that deep-fried crap. Great porcini mushroom ravioli. Only the cheese on the cheese spaetzle was a bit too dominant for me. But that's a matter of taste. Great restaurant.
