Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was introduced to this place by a local. This place specializes in freshly shucked oysters, prawns, cold cuts, Rilette and wines from wooden barrels or bottles
Nice place to hang out outside on the sidewalk. It’s really popular so one may have to wait patiently if you want a table outside

Cozy wine bar with fantastic friendly service. We visited Le Baron Rouge with our adult children. We enjoyed fantastic wines, delicious cheeses and charcuterie surrounded by staff who made us feel very welcome. Please note that there are mainly standing spaces on site. We will definitely be back.

Well we must mad - We ventured from The Arc De Triomphe by Metro / Walking, as I thought [promised] this might be worth the Trek when we get there.
Top Decision.
We could hear the noise before we turned the corner & were faced with a crowd of around 50 or so people outside the Wine Bar drinking wine & tucking in to Charcuterie Boards & Oysters. It nearly made us turn around but we decided to go in & absolutely delighted that we did so.
Huge choice of Wines - Red / White / Rose Bubbly & Lager on Tap - Full Wall of Small Blackboards showing Wines for Sale & Prices.
Similar Board for Charcuterie & Cheese Boards whilst o/s 2 Guys took orders for Oysters & prepared simply with Lemon slices.
Locals pop in with their own Bottles which are promptly filled from the Barrels on show.
Welcoming Team & it's really one of those places that should remain a 'Hidden Gem' but there's Zero Chance of that.
Great place, wide choice of Wines & Charcuterie & Cheeses [+ Oysters] to tuck into.
A magnificent venue of the beaten track.
Thanks for a wonderful lunch before our venture to the Stade Jean Bouin.

Small, busy, cramped wine bar ...
We came here after our bad dinner at "Les affranchis" in walking distance from "Le Baron Rouge".
We took a trilogie of cheese ... OMG well served, tasty, delicious and great to finish our evening.
Had Kir (liqueur de cassis) au vin blanc aligoté, and a glass of chilled red wine with the cheese.
The staff wasn't really friendly nor showing empathy. For example, they didn't ask us if we wanted to taste before ordering! Speaking fluently French didn't help us at all 😉
Well, it was rather late, after 9pm, maybe the staff was ready to go home .... 🤪

Needless to say, the most well known and long beloved bar a vin in Paris, very popular for the tourists (sorry for the loyal local clients) indeed. Staff are welcoming, you can sample various wines with a small glass. Great experience to sip a glass or two (or three and more!) here.

Le Baron Rouge is a cool, neighborhood wine bar. If those words (wine bar) conjure up something fancy to you, this place is anything but. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it was filled with plenty of locals passing their time together over glasses of wine. There are plenty of wines to choose from, and the prices are very reasonable which makes it easy to try a bunch. We had such a fun time, and we recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys wine!

We visited last year and had such a wonderful time here that we, in part, chose to stay in the local neighborhood this year. It is just a block from Marche d'Aligre. We stopped in here for an apero any night we could and also bought wine to take away straight from the barrel. The bartender are great and very knowledgeable. They were patient with our limited French. The crowd is always fun and we seemed to meet someone interesting (from all over the world) every night. That being said, it also has a fantastic neighborhood bar feel.

This place is an absolute gem of a find in Paris.
I stumbled across it by chance and have been coming back every time I go to Paris.
For me this is what Paris is all about, excellent wines, cheese and brilliant ambience.
If you want an authentic Parisian experience then this is the place to go.

This is exactly what I mean for "French bar a vin".
Conviviality and local products: French Cheese and cured meat with Languedoc and normandy oysters with Chardonnay: Can you imagine a better evening ?

We absolutely love it here. Fantastic atmosphere. Great affordable wine. Nice small plates. Even when very busy it still feels relaxed and a very happy place to be. Highly recommended! We went three times in three days!

Had several people in the UK recommend this place for the amazing wine, casual and cosy atmosphere, and the fresh oysters. The place was rammed, to the point where people were overflowing onto the street at 2pm in the afternoon. Everyone was friendly, the wine was great and affordable and the staff very knowledgeable. The oysters sold outside were incredible. Will definitely head back there on the next visit to Paris.

Went with my wife on a Saturday around 1pm and this place was packed. Lucked out and was able to manage a spot and a half at the bar. The wine selection was phenomenal and the servers were fantastic. The charcuterie on the menu was phenomenal and even though we didn’t partake in them at the time, the oysters looked fresh and delicious.
If you go and sit down just know that there are no servers. You have to make your way to the bar to order and pickup. Cash on anything less than 20 Euros. Enjoyed a good hour to hour an half sipping wine and enjoying the crowded but fun atmosphere.

Great that these type of places still exist - the anti-chic bar. Traditional spit and sawdust type of place. Huge choice of wines by the glass, with a variety of cheeses, cold meats and the like to accompany them. Great and worth the trip out from the centre.
