Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My friends and I stopped in here for brunch and were surprised by the lovely fun ambiance and also how welcoming the owner and the server were. They were helpful with the menu and the food was very good. I definitely recommend getting the vegetarian...salad they have called the villageoise. Very very good, definitely recommend. Decent prices for the amount of food you get (a lot!)More

A haughty, arrogant and contemptuous boss towards us, but above all, which is far worse, towards his staff. Upon our arrival, even before having crossed the threshold of the establishment, the boss means to us, in a speech heavy of reproaches, that we omitted to...specify the presence of a stroller, at the time of our reservation, then, after having hounded his staff in front of everyone, the boss explains first that this or that element of the map is not available to finally explain that as we have booked a table the day before, we are obliged to take a brunch, then hold a long guilt speech on the price it costs to prepare brunch, co-operate with apps, etc. They then asked us to cancel our reservation, which we did, not to add to the awkwardness. When we then got up to go eat somewhere else, He was very surprised that we did not sit down to eat the dishes that were going to be imposed on us. Maybe we should have apologized for coming to his restaurant?More

Very surprising lie. You had booked for 3 people a brunch for everyone. When you ordered only one coffee each, I just noticed that we had prepared brunch according to your reservation. On your arrival I just told you that if I had been informed...More

If you book in advance, this is one of the few places where you can go with children. The food is very tasty and the portions are huge. The staff is friendly.

Always go there between walks. Time to rest with a wonderful cake and coffee or tea. Simple and homemade lunch or soup if you are in a hurry.

We enjoyed a late lunch and dessert and enjoyed our food. My daughter had a cheesy gratin with ham and I had the chicken saffron. Our salads were fresh and tasty, the portions surprisingly generous, the tea and espresso perfect and the dessert delicious. The...servers were helpful and kind and gracious but not overbearing. Not one word was said about the cheesecake. The service was just right- not pushy but not distant either. We were happy to have stumbled upon Le Village Epicerie Fine. Even the tiny loo was clean.More

A place to avoid. The owner asserts he has the best Cheese Cake of Paris, "according to the NYT!", and that every cake is home made from one of his own recipes. But the reality is quite different: cakes and pies are insipid, meats are...of the worst quality and, being suspicious, a little search on the internet (e.g. http://www.sdvfrance.fr/catalogue-desserts.html) allows me to find that cakes in this shop were actually frozen products from wholesalers. Obviously, the bill is expensive, since it is supposed to be "home made exclusive recipes".More

First and foremost it's a happy place, where the owner likes what he's doing and the workers like being there. A little Italian bistro, menu in French. Got a salad with one of 4 choices of mozzarella, tomatoes--fresh and dried--lentils cooked with onions & peas,...olives, shaved cucumber, hot bread served with Kalios (Greek olive oil) and vinegar withMore

I arrived at this little gem late in the lunchtime game at 2:30. They were welcoming, there were people at the tables and the server was gracious and explained the menu in English. The soup and plate du hour were delicious, fresh, colorful and flavorful..the...owner chef checked in and the meal was a delight! The space is cute and colorful also, the food delish, a delightful hidden gem! The starter and main with small side salad was 15 euros. I definitely will go back!More
