I struggled with a review for Ciasa Mia, because I really wanted to love it 100%. On one hand the food quality is very high, and wine list is extensive. But I found several items on the wine list were actually not available, and ended...up with a selection from the hostess/owner, it was a fine choice, but I'm concerned if the wine list needs more updates. Food - it's not clear why the tasting needs to be quite so small. Knowing you have 5-7 courses plus pre-meal amuse bouche (or two), it would of course be small, but I felt that some of the plates are almost comical looking in how little food they had. It leaves you feeling maybe hungry at the end, or imagining you are hungry because all the plates you saw with your eyes are so small. Even if you have plenty of time, it takes a while and a series of courses before you start to feel you have eaten enough. So I was left wondering why they have chosen this approach. Maybe it's just not for me. Notably the range of diners was almost all travelers from US or Europe, but not France or locals. Service - it was impeccable, extremely friendly hostess/owner, and amiable and kindly bus boy although he had very limited English. They are dealing with a ton of plates and changes of courses across all these tables, so their tasks are huge compared to most restaurants. It seems like a lot of work for them to keep up. Style/decor is exactly right, very relaxing and enjoyable ambiance. Lighting is carefully directed and just right. We loved our time there. So in conclusion if the multiple small courses is your thing, and you really know what you are signing up for, Ciasa Mia is a great choice. You will be very well taken care of for a relaxing evening, no doubt.More
