Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were attracted by the food on the plates walking by. You sit at the bar within the food court of the market. I had Ceviche, which was excellent. They also serve beef and port and seafood ... if you are not French, be aware that the beef does not come well done😉, rather the French way! It’s not cheap ... we paid €70 for 1 dish and 1 glass of wine each. We liked the food and the market atmosphere ... will come back!

I’ve put this as average taking into account the experience ad a whole. The food is quite good, and so it should be for 30€ tapas plates in an undercover market.
The service is not really great, wines are marked up 5 x 10 x their actual price (there is no pricing guide anywhere for wine! So surprise!) leading to a hefty bill at the back end. Which is fine if you know what your getting, but to make it worse it’s the second time I’ve been there and we have been overcharged for wines and coffees that we didn’t even have (at 10-15€ the glass of wine, it makes a difference). =36€ overcharged on the last visit.
Maybe it’s an honest mistake and a function of the problem with service, but twice bitten, three times shy.
Feel like there are better places to spend your hard earned money in Paris with restaurants that are better value and won’t try to rip you off.

We came here based on the recommendation of our AirBnB host. It was such a happy place in the middle of an open market. Very different and recommended experience. We just had the crusty pig foot because we wanted to eat at a few different places. It was quite nice and crusty as the name suggests. The thinly sliced fried potatoes that came with it reminds me of how potatoes are made in my hometown - Mizoram. I asked the sommelier for Prosecco to pair with it, they didn’t have it but she recommended some other fruity Italian sparkling wine which lended a nice buzz.
The food here is slightly pricey, but totally worth it. Seafood is the specialty of this place. But since I’m from coastal India, I prefer stuffing up on as much pork & beef when travelling.

My friends from Athens and Birmingham were very happy to visit the famous parisian marché des enfants rouges. We chose this bar by coincidence. Everything we ate was delicious but a TINY quantity, and outrageously overpriced... average cost 40 to 50 € per plate. We ordered a pichet of white wine at 50 € and a bottle of Alsace wine at.... 70 €. Who could imagine these prices inside a foodmarket! For 5 persons, we paid 390€ for tapas and wine at noon, almost standing up in the cold rain!!! Unacceptable.

The cuttlefish and the blood sausage, the unlikely marriage of the two opposite ingredients, were elevated to a magical dimension by the Japanese chef. Tomato terrine and lamb croquette tasted great, and I was feeling GREAT…until the final moment. In France, people do not leave tips anymore because they are included in the price, but you can if you are pleased. So I chose to give the waiter who served me most of the time some tip. He immediately looked awkward. I noticed all the American men (they are known to be the biggest tippers in the world) lining up at the counter. I realized that my small token of gratitude embarrassed the waiter.
A lovely place, but I must cherish the memory because I cannot go back there again.

Hard to find with our limited French but what a joy to finally sit down at a table. We had starters that were all great, but we had two main dishes that blew us away. The first was a spider crab that the meat removed and returned to the shell with a wonderful sauce that was beyond great. Then came the dish that may be one of the best plates ever served to me. Sweetbreads sitting on caramelized eggplant over a delicious purée and topped with eel. Literally one of the great dining experiences of my life.

Fun place to eat inside the market, not exactly sure what they do in very cold rainy days. Food is simply delicious, love the idea of sitting and eating inside a food market. Seafood as fresh as it gets and service is friendly.

Hard to rate. Excellent food at a huge price at basically a food shack. Wine at the discretion of the very friendly waiter but no prices. We were three. One main each. A cheese platter and 3 glasses of wine each €225. Mains about €40. Wine about €10/ glass. Quality v high. Value? Not so sure.

A little nook of nibbles in the Marché des Enfants Rouges market. Very fresh everything! It was difficult to select only a few plates as we wanted to order every bite on the menu. The octopus is an absolute must, as are the roasted vegetables (which are not on the menu). Intriguingly mouth-watering dish of roasted eel with foie gras. I can't wait to return!

Peculiar setting at the market which has become more of a series of restaurants. This is an upscale eatery in a chill setting. Can be uncomfortable but then it’s a choice! The menu is listed on the board, changes daily. Plates to share, usually very good. This is not cheap but then they source the best produce. We had snails, terrine and several other starters and mains. All were perfect except for the sweetbreads that were cooked in a weird concoction of black bread. Lost its taste. I guess sometimes the chef goes too far in making an impression but then the result is disappointing. I will go back!

Amazing food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. My mother and i found this market specifically to eat here and we were not disappointed. Easily the best food we had in Paris and we ate at a few well renowned restaurants.

Very good food
It’s fine dining but in a very relaxed atmosphere
Wine is good but a bit on the expensive side especially by the glass

Amazing meal - highest quality ingredients- the tuna was the best I have ever had - you would be happy with it if it was served to you in a Michelin restaurant

We arrived hopeful as this was the only restaurant in the market open late … oh, I wish we had never ate…
We were given no choice in our wine, how were we meant to know that the price would be fine?….
When the food menu came, we then only had ourselves to blame….
The fact that we were sat on makeshift stools… added to the feeling of being absolute fools………
Asparagus €26 and tuna belly €48, we had sat and had one glass of wine and knew then it was too late……
Three croquetas on our plate, oh my oh my the only thing worse was the waiter trying to take my friend for a date……
The food was tasteless and bland, for the price we paid it was far from grand…..
A gift was offered of a €30 dish, this ended up on our bill against our wish….
Overall I wish I could give this place 0 stars, for food this expensive and poor quality I can only beg of you to go to other bars…….

Great płace for foodies. Niecely served, well spiced, small pieces of delight. Express service and nice atmosphere of a food hall with restaurant quality!

Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
