This was our first visit to Bordeaux and the Rotisserie Saint Michel. We went there because my husband wanted a French meal experience, and we were not disappointed. First, they gladly accommodated our meal requirements to our liking and the food was delicious. Their potato cakes, a creation of their chef, were phenomenal. The service was very attentive, and the outdoor dining experience could not be beat with the Saint Michel Basilica at its foot. Overall I would give this restaurant top marks for food, service, wine and ambiance. A gem in Bordeaux!

We had a terrific experience in this restaurant. We had a lunch outside, with a view on the basilic St Miche,l and the service was very attentive and courteous. But the highlight was the food that was reasonably priced for the quality. So was the wine, a "Petit Paveil" bordeaux. I had the "Souris d'agneau", a lamb dish with an exquisite sauce. The wine list was The cooking was perfect and I will definitely visit again when back in Bordeaux. Definitely a pearl in Bordeaux

A very good Brasserie in the old St Michel, meats cooked to perfection under the supervision of Master Alain. Nothing fancy, just solid menu with local products, right wine list, leaving space to local productions. It is worth the trip, but need reservation.

It was my wife's birthday. The restaurant knew this as I booked via The Fork and added this as a comment. We booked a table for 8pm and were told to choose where we sat. The menu arrived at 8.20 and then I had to ask for the wine list. My starter arrived reasonably promptly then the wait began. Our mains eventually arrived at 9.20 - my wife had no starter so nothing to eat until then - AND our food was merely warm so my wife had to ask for hers to be reheated. No apology.... nothing.
We decided to have pudding somewhere else and so I went into the restaurant to pay and The Fork discount hadn't been applied. Again no apology, no reduction for the lukewarm meal.
Not sure how this place has good reviews - it doesn't deserve them.

Next to the St-Michel church, in the heart of the renovated district of the same name, lays this traditional Rotisserie, lead by maestro Alain. You will find here traditional local food (duck among them), and of course, anything that roasts or grill. I had the duck fillet, grilled to perfection.
Prices are moderate, wine list is well chosen, with very good local Chateaux.
Evenings are beautiful with surrounding lightings.
It is a stop I recommend, and you can eat outside, weather permitting. Reservations recommended.

Ate here on a Saturday night. To start with, we took the all meat charcuterie platter to share and the pumpkin soup with chestnuts. Both excellent choices! The charcuterie was finely selected, and a good price - quantity balance! For mains, we took the entrecôte with red wine shallot sauce with seasonal vegetables (superb superb superb!!) and my husband took the magret de canard which was also well prepared. Our little girl took the child menu with rosted chicken and fries which was excellent in itself too! Service was very warm and welcoming. The wines are very reasonably priced. Will come back!
Must reserve before, and parking is not so easy around the area.

A small restaurant with a very friendly and knowledgeable owner serving delicious food. Small menu with a good variety of fish and meat dishes. Should satisfy all palates. Good selection of local red, white and rosé wines. Mostly Bordeaux wines of course.
I had the entrecote cooked to perfection.
The location is historic just in front of the magnificant Basilique de Saint-Michel.
A short walk from the river Garonne, the historic centre and the Gare Saint-Jean.
You will find the restaurant walking to the right when facing the Basilique a little away from the crowded drinking area.
Enjoy your food here with a personal touch.

We went with friends for the second time to La Rotisserie Saint Michel in Bordeaux, and once again we have not been disappointed. Our meals were excellent and prepared by a very sympatethic chef and owner. The service was impeccable. We were on the terrace with a wonderful view of an old church.
I definitely recommend this restaurant if you happen to stop over in Bordeaux

I was welcomed with such kindness from the moment I laid eyes on the outdoor menu board. This is a family owned and operated establishment that deserves attention. Upon being seated, Enzo graciously explained the menu to me in English and then proceeded to provide thoughtful service and even a little company as I was eating solo. The chef wow'd me at every turn...hands down the best pork dish I have eaten to date. Don't forget to end your meal with a special treat - all of which are home made and mouth watering. I hope you enjoy your time with OSM as much as I did!

Just a lovely moment in a really nice restaurant. The staff were very smily, polite and attentive. The food is so good and so well presented, a little bit to much with the portion but probably the perfect one for someone really hungry ! The waitress is aware of our needed which is just creating such a friendly mood. Well done !

Once again, we had a diner with a few friends, and once again we were greatly satisfied with the innovative cuisine and perfect service. I had the "terrine de foie gras" which was homemade as an appetizer and the "Souris d'agneau" as an main dish and that was a killer with its fabulous sauce with spices. I can only highly recommend this restaurant with its nice setting close to the Bell Tower in Saint Michel Square.

Every time I go to Bordeaux, I always stop at that place. Its bistro menu, simple but to the point detonates in this very colorful area. Alain the owner is always there with a nice bottle of Bordeaux of its finding. I had the foie gras, to die for, and the Italian tartare. You can never be wrong. Local products and all home made. Very good, well priced.

Great find, staff is super friendly, the food was yummy and very well presented. The owner was great in advising wine and has many great tips to find wine in the region. We also got to taste one of his own Rhum arrangé as he’s lived and worked in Mauritius luxury hotels ! Great experience overall

Classic bistro menu using locally sourced produce and perfectly cooked. Between four of us we tried four of the six main courses and all were excellent. Delicious desserts and good shareable starters too. Reasonably priced good wines and friendly efficient service. Highly recommended.

Great restaurant with a fantastic setting. Some of the best chicken I’ve had in my life — tender, perfectly cooked, and extremely flavorful. The staff was also great and welcoming. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
