Where to start? Lovely ambience with extremely friendly and obliging staff. The most delicious lasagne I have ever had. Delicious pizza (all 5 of them just perfect) nephew said the bolognaise was the best and my sisters green pesto, cream, chicken and mushroom pasta was...just wonderful. We live in Edinburgh but will most definitely be back. The owners should be very proud of the staff as they are definitely an asset aswell as the chefs.More
Found this after swimming at Hamilton Water Palace with wife and baby son (across the road). Staff were very friendly and accommodating, interior of the restaurant was lovely and the food was great. Very good value for money and all round and excellent place for...a family lunch. Will definitely be back here again.More
Food lovely as usual but what really made it 5/5 was the staff.
They had a real variety of customers on a Saturday night, we were last to eat and each and every customer was treated with the same good grace.
Roberto was our server...however we were asked by two others how the meal was and making sure we had enough to drink.
The staff are the main reason we'd go back and the food was fault free!

Visited as 2 x couples. Was placed in one of the window booths, which are very tight and almost clostrophobic feeling.
Ordered drinks to be told, no draught beer available, and "only a couple of bottles of beer left".
Also Ordered a bottle of Rose...wine, which came warm. Not even chilled or at room temperature- it was warm!! The warm bottle of wine was placed in a "wine chiller" without any chilled water or ice to cool it down.
Onto the food. Ordered starters and mains, and tbh they were average. Prawn starter (Gambo Inferno) had 3 prawns in it, that was it.
Pizzas were soggy in the middle, and the Lasagne was average, I've made better myself.
We mentioned the above points to the waiter on paying our bill, and was met with a shrug of the shoulders.
We have eaten in Eataliano on numerous occasions pre-COVID, however we will not be back as it has gone downhill badly.
I would no longer say that it's restaurant quality food, but the name Cafe Eataliano is very well suited to it now - Cafe quality food and service.More
We visited last night and both ordered mussels as a starter. I realised there was a foul smell and stopped eating them. We called the manager over who removed his mask to smell, looked puzzled and did this another twice. He then said the mussels...were fresh every day but he would remove from the bill.
We then asked for some time to change our main meal as we were wary as this contained seafood as well.
The manager went into the kitchen then returned and said that the mussels really were fresh.
He then proceeded to talk to 2 waiting staff at the counter who then started staring at us. This was very disconcerting and rude.
We decided to cancel our main meal and asked for the bill, not expecting to be charged for our wine. The bill arrived for £20. My husband queried this and there was another discussion in the kitchen between the manager and I assume the owner.
The owner approached us and again said that the mussels were fresh and that he had checked the whole supply. We were told that the wine would by ‘on him’.
We felt disbelieved despite the foul smell coming from my plate.
We were made to feel at fault and the customer service appalling.
We eat here regularly and always order mussels but due to this treatment we will not be backMore
My husband and I visited Eataliano on a busy Saturday evening. We have been before and always leave completely satisfied and happy with our choices/food. Saturday was another exceptional experience. The food was quick, tasty, all changes made I.e no mushrooms etc. No fault whatsoever....What really stood out was the exquisite service particularly from Louise. She really deserves some recognition. Louise was charming, attentive and thorough in her responses to questions asked. She built rapport with us excellently and just came across as such a genuine and kind person. I accidently spilt some sauce from my dessert on my cream top. I didn't make a fuss and instead just wiped it down quietly. Louise noticed this and came over straight away with wipes on hand to help. Eataliono, your food always blows us away but your service, Louise particularly, was outstanding. Thank you for another great experience.More
