About
The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations. The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn. Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service. A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting. From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.

It defies logis that Geoffrey Smeddle still does not have a star. His food is streets ahead of many who do, particularly in London. We have been coming to the Peat in since David Wilson was chef and it just keeps getting better.

I never write reviews but, in this case, I really want to. This restaurant absolutely deserves its Michelin star: from the warm welcome, the friendliness and professionality of the staff, and, of course, to the AMAZING food. I can’t recall a better dinner! We had...More

We’ve eaten at the Peat Inn on a number of occasions in recent years and have found the service, ambiance and (most importantly) food to continuously improve over that period. Our last meal was nothing short of outstanding. A much enjoyed and highly memorable experience....More

They do allow children at lunchtime and children over 7 in the evening. They do not have a a specific childrens menu, this is a Michelin starred resturant.
