Christmas Day Dinner

Was treated to Dinner here by family member and there were 5 of us in the party. We were served on the day by 2 lovely girls who could not have been any more attentive keep asking if everything was alright and if we needed any more drinks. The food for a 5 course dinner was good value and as we were booked for 5pm did not feel rushed to eat our dinner and leave. A lovely dinner and served by lovely girls.

Fantastic service and friendly atmosphere

Some mates and I met up for our annual new years day catch up today and chose First Edition for our rendezvous, and boy are we glad we did! The food was great, such friendly staff and a great atmosphere, we will definitely be making a return trip. The staff were so attentive, with a special shout out to Charlene who bent over backwards to ensure our time there was a very enjoyable one. I also noticed she portrayed the same level of service to other customers waiting at the bar ahead of me. I was even impressed with how Charlene remembered our drinks order every time, even after it changing on some occasions 😉 For anyone looking for good food and great customer service I would highly recommend First Edition. Certainly helped start us off with a Happy New Year 😁.

Lovely Late Lunch

From the moment I arrived I was welcomed with fantastic customer service. Being a bit older I was struggling with the technology and trying to 'scan' in but the host was very patient and helped me through it. I was then given a choice of tables and I picked a lovely wee booth which even had its own TV! I ordered a club sandwich which came with a glass of wine and it only cost about £7 which was a bargain. The food came quickly and was really nice. The service the full time I was in was amazing and all the staff were so helpful. The place was extremely clean and we felt very safe with all the extra measures put in place.

Great prices, great service and great pub!

Always enjoyed my visits to First Edition. Been coming here for years and it's always been one of my favourites. The prices are very reasonable with a wide selection of tasty food and drink. Plus the staff are very friendly and helpful, with my favourite server Amy always having a smile on her face. Would definitely recommend.

Friday night

The place is lovely after having its refurbishment visited with a couple of the girls for a few drinks and a bite to eat. When we first went in it was relatively quiet however it did start to pick up as time went on all the staff on shift seemed to be having a laugh and a joke with customers and seemed genuinely happy to be there. We were looked after by Declan who we had a really good laugh with he helped us choose what was good from the menu and even told us about the buy one get one free dessert deal. I would suggest getting the sharing plank it was delicious and it paired lovely with the wine we had hehe. We did ask for the chefs to be told it was excellent hope Declan passed this information along to them.

Pre concert food

Stopped by the First Edition for food and drink, both before and after a concert in Kilmarnock's Grand Hall. It was only a short walk from the bar to the Grand Hall. The staff were friendly and hard working, managing a busy bar well. Our food came quickly and tasted great and our dessert cutlery was even at the table before we had returned from making the order! The staff were really on top of service and glass collecting, especially Jolene who served us throughout the night! Will definitely be back!

First day out of lockdown

Met up with good friend after lockdown. Had lunch which wasn't as good as before lockdown. Had tikka masala and naan bread was quite stale. Friend had fish and chips but fish was dry and tasteless. We then moved out side to have some wine. Tables and seating were wet and hadn't been dried. Wouldn't normally expect to have seating dried but as you were only allowed outside to drink I would have thought they would be making an exception. Also no heaters which you might expect from a large company. I know we live in Scotlamd and appreciate the unpredictable weather but surely if you want to have the customers then you would try to give the best you can. Really felt for the waiting staff as they were absolutely frozen. Thought they might have had a fleece at the very least.

Speedy Service

Always have a great experience here. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. We popped in for some lunch but ended up having some cocktails when we found out they were half price. The girl Emma serving us went above and beyond and made us a cocktail that wasn't even on the menu after I told her it was my favourite. Will be back again to work our way through the rest of the menu!

Really good food and service.

Been years since I was last in here, and I was really impressed with the food. The server came over to ask if it was ok, then asked when we were finished if we enjoyed it. There was a good range of different things on the menu, and my parents had something from the two for £11.50 menu which was really good value. My veggie chilli burger and nachos was great. I'll be back again soon.

Good food!

Came in with a couple of friends for some food and drinks. Food was great not to pricey and although no music due to restrictions the atmosphere was still pretty fun :) . staff were excellent guy andy who served us was very cheerful, very helpful :) overall had a real good night!

Brilliant Service

Visited on the off chance on a Saturday night and was presently surprised that we managed to get a table. The place was extremely busy and we were warned before we came in that there would be a wait time to get drinks. We weren’t too fussed about this and it was nice that we were warned before even ordering. Despite this the drinks still came out reasonably quickly and the cocktails are great value for money. The service from all staff was incredible and everyone was so helpful. The clean was kept very clean and it was reassuring to see people constantly sanitising tables. The social distancing also seemed to be extremely well managed. We will definitely be back in the near future!

The establishment has recently undergone a full refurbishment and is looking lovely. The staff are also lovely, friendly and very helpful.. The food, although, extensive variety and many options on the three menus, and also employing three chefs!!! is very poor (Instant smash) My friends & myself will not be back to eat

Drinkers bar

This is certainly looking a bit better after it’s refurbishment but fundamentally nothing has changed. A place to go when you just want a night on the lash., Tables full of dirty glasses, hardworking staff run off their feet behind bar and food average with price winning over quality. After 8 the dj and punters get loud and lairy! Two positives are that wines are very fairly priced and it’s one of the best beer gardens in killie.

Works do last night. 5 of us out there we walked in seen how crammed it was and decided to leave however was approached by worker Becca who asked if everything was ok and told us that she would find us somewhere to sit. Ended up getting us a booth (shared with 2 other guys) but we thought this was great service and ended up having a cracking night. Guys whom we shared table with were happy enough to allow us to sit at the booth given the size of the booth which was brill. Glad Becca helped us as we stayed the full night till shutting time. Drinks were great prices and DJ was fab !!!! We will definitely be back for more works nights out!!! Only suggestion is if you are going in on a Saturday night I would book a table prior to arriving

Great customer service from charlene

Great customer service from charlene. Waited our table most of the visit. Made sure everything was ok for us all. There was a group of 20 of us roughly and she remembered the orders well for drinks and meals. Fantastic customer care skills and friendly and polite. First edition should be proud of their employee for going that extra mile.definetly managerial material. The food was also brought quickly and the costs are reasonable and the drinks are excellent lots to choose from.. A very relaxed atmosphere.😊
