Had a takeaway on Saturday, it was great apart from the chicken was undercooked so I couldn’t eat it all.

Not had food from here before, won’t try again.Salad had gone off, tandoori chicken was greasy, stringy and bland.Meat balti was lacking meat. Masala was uber sweet in taste. Disappointed.

This is our second visit to Massala. We are absolutely blown away by the food. The Naan is the most light and tasty and the Mains are so fresh. This is a gem of a restaurant and you can bring your own wine too 🎉

All the dishes were the same colour, which means they must only add extra spices if like a Madras instead of of a Balti.

My son & I were having a lads night in & mentioned by my brother-in-law as a decent curry house, closer than our usual-I decided try a take away from the Massala in Rubery using the just eat app to order. Quoted an hour for...delivery (no problem), the food encouragingly came in far less time. We both had the mixed kebab starter (chicken & lamb tikka, lamb chop & sheekh kebab) followed by chicken tikka dupiaza, chicken jalfrezi, fried rice, pilau rice with a naan each- tikka & keema. Starters came with free poppadoms, salad & dips-all very good but the starters were served on a bed of onions swimming in oil, the toughest & smallest piece of lamb tikka & the lamb chop was a bit of tough old mutton and the majority of it was just a bone-not sure where the meat was-the best bit was the sheekh kebab. My main bland (all a matter of opinion of course) but was swimming in oil, as was my son's. I've never had fried rice from a take away where you tip it out to leave a pool of oil in the dish-there was absolutely loads of it. I fully appreciate that a take away curry isn't normally a healthy low fat dish-and I'm not scared of a curry having had many in my 50 years on the planet in many parts of the country, but this was probably the worst one I've ever had, either eat in or take away. Did we complain, no we ate part & threw the rest away once I'd wiped the grease off my lips-so greasy. The best bit was the naan breads which were nicely cooked & tasty. Will never use this place again.More

Ordered from Massala for the first time. Had 2x Massala Feast. Everything was tasty. The only comment, which isn’t negative, is many of the dishes we ate were sweet. We didn’t know that when we ordered; so next time, we might try to have only...some sweet and some not so sweet. The dishes we had were: duck achanak (not sweet), shahi malai tikka (sweet), chicken peshwari (very sweet), and fauladi (sauce was sweet). The dip for the poppadoms was also sweet. When we’re in the mood for Asian takeaway in the future, we will try Massala again.More
