This would have been a 5* Review, as every other member of staff were lovely, helpful, and followed Covid rules. However, the lady who I am guessing is the manager was so rude, had a face on her the entire time, and when we struggled...to find the track and trace app she shouted over all of us and demanded that she did it instead. Walk past empty plates and glasses on our table although it wasn’t busy, only one other table in the entire garden. When I went to enter the pub to use the bathroom she looked me up and down and asked why I was inside, I told her I was using the bathroom and she huffed and walked away. Why work in customer service if you cannot even fake a smile for one day? I’ve seen many reviews about this same woman, and I’m struggling to understand why a restaurant would employ somebody like that to be a manager. Thank you to the rest of the staff, keep up the good work.More

The waitress serving our table was not wearing a face mask at any stage of our visit. At one stage she also sat next to guests she obviously knew when taking their order. All other aspects of the visit were Covid safe , all other...staff were wearing masks and giving peace of mind to their guests. We will not return to this establishment.More

Visited here in August, and they were able to accommodate both our family and my sister-in-law's family at two separate tables outside on the patio at the back. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and play, while also giving us a chance...to catch up at a social distance after lockdown. We ordered main meals and desserts - guzzled the lot. And with The Royal Oak participating in the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme, it was great value!More

The refurbishment has really made a difference and it has rejuvenated the pub. The staff are fine . The only thing wrong with it is that it is not very warm.

Popped in to look at the reverb. The place has been transformed new paint work better lighting refurbished tables walls gone and also so new seating. Had a good matter about the reverb to lady behind the bar very friendly pub all round. I ordered...a Cappachino coffee and Jerky Vegetarian burger. My wife had a Coars light lager and Scampi and chips. When the meal came it was well presented and pipping hot. Very impressed. The food and drink is very very reasonable prices and the service was good and had a bit of banter with the staff. What an improvement all round keep it up. We will definitely be coming again soon. Well done the Royal Oak .More

Wow, how this place has changed!! FOR THE BETTER!!!!! Polite and friendly staff. Good decor, clean tables, menus no longer sticky, orders taken quickly at the bar, (since the local crowd that normally stand at the bar, are now at the other end). Meals arrived...in good time. Food quality and presentation great, expertly cooked by Iain, generous portions, tasty and hot. I like it when they will substitue items, eg, swap chips for sweet potato fries etc. We had Chicken platter and Steak surf & Turf, and desserts: caramel apple crumble and an meringue ice cream sundae, all lovely. Reasonably priced too.. We will be back, and can recommend this place. Well Done Royal Oak and the team.More
