One of my best experiences! I will defiantly be back again. Jack our waiter was AMAZING! Please pass on our thanks and tell him how great he is. Jack was professional with great banter, making us feel welcome, comfortable and we laughed the whole way through. The food was so tasty. I was not disappointed! Enjoying all 3 courses from the Blue Fish menu. I can’t wait to come back for another experience with you guys and try a Red or Green Menu. WE LOVED YOU JACK! Great team, great customer service, very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was warm and comfortable, the menu was fairly priced for the experience you get to enjoy and the portions were just right! Thank you. See you again!

We went to Dans le Noir on Valentine's Day and were impressed by the attention to detail, from the rose petals on the floor to the rose and macaron offered at the end of the experience. The pitch black dark room is challenging, but being sat next to friendly people who we chatted and laughed with added on to the experience. The food was gorgeous, too! A lot of different textures and tastes on the plates - and the wines were paired beautifully with our menus. The staff is amazing - Fabio was the best!

I booked this restaurant for my husband's 50th birthday in March. I requested that my husband and I arrive and were seated, before 4 more friends arrived and were then seated with us too. He had no idea his friends would be joining us, just thought that we would be sharing the table. Thank you Dans Le Noir for helping me to arrange this. His reaction was priceless, when he realised! Nadine was our waitress, she was very helpful and answered any questions that we had and she helped to make our experience enjoyable. I won't spoil the surprise, but you pick your menu and drink in the waiting area from meat, fish or veggie and then you're taken to your table. It really is pitch black! You spend some time acclimatising and then the experience of guessing what you are eating starts. It is a premium cost, but you're paying for the experience and the great food. Would definitely recommend!

Don't be fooled by the photos of the food on here. If you are a real foodie then you won't like this experience, as the food is shocking. I took my friend here for her 30th Birthday and we were both very disappointed. We both opted for the Red Menu and the Degustation package. Unfortunately the overall experience was very poor, the food was tasteless and lacking any quality – my friend actually said “we could be eating a school dinner for all we know” – given that this experience should be all about the flavours and textures of the food, I am actually shocked at how bad it was. I could tell from the texture of the meat and the photos that we were shown afterwards – for both starter and main – that the chicken and beef was reformed meat, either that or just very poor quality. Additionally, both our starter and main was served lukewarm - it definitely wasn’t hot, and the glasses of wine we were served were both very small (I’m guessing 125ml if that). The service was ok, we were in a small room with one other couple, so the atmosphere was a little odd – no music or anything to give it a proper ambiance, no table clothes or anything to make us feel as though weren't just in a canteen with the lights switched off. The meal lasted just over 1 hour and we were out the door of the dark room by 7:40pm – very short for a 3 course meal, it felt completely rushed. In summary, the food was extremely poor, atmosphere was non-existent and we were in and out in just over 1 hour. All for a price of £182.60. I am really struggling to understand where we got any value for our money for this experience? I booked this meal as a special occasion and it was just not that – we both left feeling very disappointed and I felt completely ripped off. I am not one to write reviews or complain, but on this occasion, especially given the price we paid, I felt compelled to write to the General Manager at Dans le Noir to complain, and I never received a response. I would definitely not recommend anyone going here and will actually put people I know off going if they ever ask me about it.

I booked for my friends birthday well in advance to secure our time slot. We arrive on time and had to wait 90 mins to get our seat with many people arriving after us with later booking getting seated before us, we were only a party of two as well so weren't waiting on a big table. We got the three course red menu, the experience was fun but the food was only ok for the price tag. My dessert came missing the main cake element, it was only sorbet. Our host in the restaurant, who was lovely, was not around for me to query and me and my friend checked to make sure it hadn't fallen of the plate or anything. When we left I was directed towards the manger to give my feedback. When I told her about my missing food she said loudly in front of everyone 'It wasn't possible and I have a hard time believing you' before dismissing me and walking away. It was really upsetting to be called a liar in front of a room of strangers when i had just paid 250 for a meal. I emailed the restaurant afterwards to try and speak to someone about my experience but after nearly two months and a follow up email no one has got back to me. Very disappointing, terrible customer service and the food is fine but not worth the price. Save your money and go elsewhere, not the place for a special experience

My partner was given a voucher for a tasting menu for his birtday so we went expecting to have a bit of a novel experience and some good food. The outside and the reception area look a bit fusty and dated. When they greeted us the staff explained we could have a choice of menus but didn't go into what to expect in terms of the overall experience. As soon as the waitress took us into the dining room I knew it was a mistake. While I appreciate the whole point is that you have an immersive experience of what it's like to not be able to see, the total darkness paired with how noisy and cramped the room is was completely terrifying. I've not had a panic attack for many years but as soon as we were seated I wanted to run and got upset. We were crammed between a wall and elbow to elbow with another couple on a long table of people all battling to be heard. It was too loud to have a conversation so I couldn't even talk to my partner about how I was feeling and the waitress, while friendly, didn't give us any indication of what to do if we wanted to get up (eg. to go to bathroom) or remind us which way the exit was in an emergency. I was too mortified to ask for a breather (as I would have had to yell "waiter?" over all the noise). I think they need to either check on guests more often or give some indication how to get a waiters attention if needed. We weren't invited to wash our hands before dining which is a shame as you invariably abandon the cutlery. The food is nothing special at all, edible but that's it. We asked for another drink which didn't appear, although it was on the bill. If you're wanting to go but prone to anxiety either avoid this place or maybe alert the staff before you come as they don't really look after you. Again i do understand that you're supposed to find the darkness alien and overwhelming but there's just no guidance beyond abandoning you at a table practically on the laps of other people and presenting you with a hefty (and in our case incorrect) bill at the end.

While the experience of eating in complete darkness is interesting, the food at this restaurant is a real let down and definitely not worth the price. I booked the table for my partner’s birthday. He chose the meat menu and I went for the fish. We were both really underwhelmed with the bland, lukewarm dishes we were served. We both had the two-course menu with a glass of wine which came to £123.20 (including service charge), which is ridiculous for the horrible food we received. I emailed the manager to complain but never received a response.

I took my husband to Dans Le Noir? as a birthday gift and I was extremely excited for the opportunity to eat with him in the dark. The experience was indeed unforgettable and the staff super nice and careing. We took green and red degustation menu. The food was average and not very sophisticated, definitely not as advertised. Additionally, all wines were very bad, I couldn't even drink mine. I was actually really sorry that that was my husband's birthday dinner and I will not come back to the restaurant as it is just not worth the money, even with £13 more for the experience. Interestingly enough I talked about my experience with a colleague in the office a day after the dinner and he actually mentioned he had similar thoughts about the restaurant. So maybe it is not only me and my husband that didn't appreciate the food after all...

Staff were rushed and felt like they were doing you a favour being there. Completely relying on the novelty to charge you massive prices for what’s essentially ready meal standard food that tastes like its been microwaved. Cocktails taste like orange squash mixed with vodka. Drinks orders were messed up and despite being asked to rectify was ignored. Still appearing on the bill. When finished left at the table for 10 minutes. The only redeeming features was the initial novelty and friendly waiter. With your 75 quid a head do your staff a favour, go and buy some proper produce and get a quality chef in the kitchen.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience. From the darkened appearance of the restaurant subtly foreshadowing the night, to the surprise meal which made me realize my palate wasn't as developed as I thought, this restaurant had it all. Food, wine, great company, a wonderful server who was missing his eyesight, and of course the really loud atmosphere. My ears got so overwhelmed due to the complete darkness that I was having difficulty concentrating. But alas I tried, and I did, and we ate, and we drank, and we even somehow managed to share bites off each others plates. My partner loved it, my neighbors loved it, my ears were screaming, but I very much enjoyed it.

I visited with my husband, having had a fantastic experience at a similar restaurant in Germany, however, unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. The atmosphere of the area you wait in before you enter the dark restaurant is bland and soulless. The waitresses were also very transactional (unlike in Germany) and other than asking if we had been to the restaurant before, did not engage. The blind waiters/host were welcoming and attentive. The biggest disappointment was the food. The starter and main was cold and bland. The quality of the meat was really poor. The chicken for starter had no seasoning or flavour at all. The meat for main was rare (which I am fine with) but the meat was cold and chewy. The vegetables were hard and cold. Also, the images on there website of the food are completely misleading. You’re shown the menu and images of the food after and it does not resemble their advertising materials in any way. The dark restaurant could also do with some additionally furnishings to take away the echo in the room; whilst there were only 2 other couples dining in the restaurant at the same time as us, if we all spoke at the same time, it was difficult to hear my husband. This experience has lots of potential and it’s truly unique but I’m afraid has been poorly executed and not worth anywhere near the £135 we paid for this.

My husband, 19 year old daughter and I just visited in London. We arrived early and they weren't yet open but opened and the place was very nice. They have lockers for you to put all your things in while you have your dining experience. Our waiter, Fabio was fabulous. We really enjoyed the experience and would go back but as a special occasion only since it can be pricey. They change the menu every three or more months so you wouldn't want to go back more often than that anyway.

I have been planning this visit for months and both myslef and my partner have been very excited for it. I can truely say that this experience has exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival, we have been greeted with warmth and we felt very welcome. The lady was nothing but attentive and patient and has reassured us as we were very anxious. After that, our waiter Fabio has taken us inside the "Dark Room" and sat us on our table. The food was delivered in such great speed and despite it being a weekend, we didnt have to wait at all which was shocking considering the restaurant was very busy. The food was very tasty and has completely caught us off guard as we practically didnt get any of it right ! The cocktail selection was also very different to the standard and what we felt was a nice touch was the fact that we dicovered they were named after the blind waiters at the restaurant :) (PS - I personally recommend the Takashi cocktail ! ) After we left, we were warmly greeted back and taken upstairs to have the menu's explained and even had a lovely chat with the lady working upstairs. In general, I can say that this was definitely an eye opening experience. It made us appreciate how privilaged we are to be able to see and how important all of our senses are. It was defintely money well spent and we will be back for my mothers 60th Birthday :)

I visited this restaurant Saturday lunchtime. During the booking process it asked about food allergies and I stated vegetarian and allergic to mushrooms. On arrival I reminded the server about my allergy and she reassured me it was on the form. Whilst eating the main course I could taste mushrooms and I asked the waiter if there were mushrooms on my plate and he said he would have to ask the chef. He didn’t come back to me and I was served the dessert course and then we left to go back outside to arrival area. When I saw what I had eaten there where definitely mushrooms on the plate. When we returned downstairs I spoke to a different server and he showed me the form where it clearly stated allergic to mushrooms I asked him why was I given mushrooms and he just said I should have taken it up with the waiter. He ushered me over to the till and told me to pay for my drinks. By this point I was feeling nauseous and needed to get out to the fresh air. I emailed when I got home but have had no response from Dans le noir. Luckily my allergy is not server but I’m left shocked with the attitude of the staff towards food allergies. I have tried calling several times and emailed directly and through the contact page on website but have had no reply. So a word of warning if you have any food allergies please be extremely careful and make sure that the manager on the day knows.

We booked a table here for my birthday and it was fantastic. I had a very similar experience at one in Berlin so wanted to go to come closer to home with my boyfriend and friends. Service was great, and the food was delicious. The portion sizes are quite small for the price but I do understand you are paying a premium for the experience. This wouldn't be somewhere I went often but as a special occasion I think it was a great evening and was enjoyed by all.
