I going to stop going to restaurants where the name above the door is not the chef in the kitchen. Unfortunately, I was very underwhelmed by the food. Duck start - lacked basic seasoning, lacked any type of flavour and had a fairly unpleasant texture...- but it did look beautiful. My main course - beef - tasted lovely but tiny tiny portions. The highlight of the meal was Tart Tartin - very very good. Overall - meh. The service was exceptional. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and totally relaxed. Very expensive as you would expect but the food didn't meet my expectations. Sorry, really sorry - hate giving bad reviews.More

A nice cosy restaurant, with great atmosphere and service. Straight away Jean Claude, who’s in charge of the front of house, made us feel welcomed! He was so polite and kind, made us feel completely at ease. The food was absolutely incredible! We all (my...whole family) had the Prestige Menu and they even differentiated which meat we would all like and individually cooked. This was great for a family who like all their steaks cooked differently. Each meal/appetizer/palate cleanser, were like individual flavour bombs! We tried caviar for the first time which was delicious! When each meal arrived at our table, it was like it was plated by an artist, each plate was a work of art! All the staff were incredible, such professionalism as well as hospitality, a fine balance between the two. They brought each dish out with care and explained what each dish was, they were also kind enough to keep our glasses filled at all times! What can I say? I had very high expectations of Restaurant Gordon Ramsey, and each one of those expectations were completely met. Thank you so much for a marvellous and mindblowing experience!More

I've been living and working in Vermont USA and only finally returned to the UK just before Covid occurred. I was given a 'surprise' 60th birthday treat which this has taken 18 months to reorganise......but it was still worth the wait. Having eaten at the...Chelsea restaurant on several occasions in the early 2000's I was delighted to find that Jean Claude is still running the front of house. He's a star and always is easy to approach. The staff all seemed to offer a personal style and were not conforming to a formula. This allows the whole dining experience to be so much more enjoyable. We were treating two old friends who over the years whilst we were working in the US have offered us a bed when we are in London. Do expect to pay around £250 a head for the tasting menu and some vino. I feel this is reasonable value for money and all of us enjoyed our varied supper. Nothing failed to make an impact on our taste buds and the fish course was particularly good. Most of our fellow diners were affable but of course we had one noisy couple who seem to think it is acceptable to live stream their supper and at the same time offer a loud running commentary. Thankfully they were in a corner and we felt most of the other diners, and indeed some staff members were embarrassed by their uncouthness. However these days we appreciate that any dining establishment has to broaden out their client base and also accept some demanding clients. We hope to return for a 65th celebration as we feel the understated atmosphere is be commended as you can chat due to the low noise levelMore

Without a doubt the best restaurant we've ever been to. The service was exceptional and felt very welcomed when we arrived. We'd pre-booked the prestige menu which was my belated Birthday gift and what a gift it was. The whole experience from the ambience of...the restaurant, the professionalism, the dishes and attentiveness of the staff was amazing. Nicoletta made us feel very relaxed as soon as we were seated and was very accommodating with the menu and the wine list. Speaking of the wine list - the sommeliers were on-point and served the drinks with a big smile on their faces. Head Sommelier James was very cheerful and spoke to us to see how everything was including the food and drinks. Very pleasant and also made us feel welcome. The food was phenomenal and I would love to come back at some point. Being a chef and eating here was a tick off the bucket list. It's something I've also wanted to do. Matt and the team are producing the most amazing food, absolute pleasure to have dined here.More

I was visiting this on my 46th birthday, Needless to say, This was my worst birthday yet, Even worse than that one time where my mother slapped me as a gift. The service was terrible, They treated me as if I was a 46 year...old man in a child fair, The audacity! For a 3 Michelin star restaurant the food was atrocious, Actually for even a 0 star Michelin restaurant the food was atrocious, They served raw meat! And it wasn't even fresh, Do I look like a Neanderthal? I have taste buds! The manager wouldn't allow me to return food, and when I did he would angrily stomp away and mutter under his breath "You're not getting anything as compensation.", I think I was the butt of a staff joke, And don't get me started on the costs.. Anyways, I would not recommend this to people I like. Or people I dislike.More

Unfortunately this was a very average, if not disappointing visit. We have recently started dining out at least once, if not twice a year at Michelin restaurants as a treat as we all love our food. Having dined at Moor Hall restaurant in Lancashire which...was a 2 star, and being blown away by the experience we had even higher expectations for Gordon’s 3 star restaurant. We opted for the menu prestige, which is £165 per person for 6 courses and paid an additional £20 per person for a cheese course. The food was all very nice, as you would expect when paying that money. However for the money you’re paying, and the status this restaurant has, I think it’s fair to say you expect more than nice food and good service? There wasn’t a single course I can look back on and say ‘WOW that was absolutely fantastic’ , as I said they were all nice and tasty, just nothing unusual or different that we were blown away by. The service was good, but again for a restaurant of this status not excellent. Between our turbot course and pigeon course we waited just over 30 minutes. There was no explanation, no one came over, and we felt basically neglected for 30 minutes. It was a long wait (bearing in mind you have 6/7 courses to get through) Also one of our party had an empty water glass for a good 10 minutes before it being refilled. Not to sound like a snob, but the service at this sort of restaurant should be that waiters are constantly on the ball and wouldn’t let someone sit with an empty glass for that long. The total bill for just food and service charge (we had no alcohol, just 3 bottles of water) was £845. I have no problem paying this sort of money, just expect more than good food and good service, as quite frankly I can get good food and good service down my local country pub. We’re looking forward to trying Core by Clare Smyth next time we’re in London, hopefully which will live up to the three Michelin stars standards that people expect.More

One word, amazing! By far the best restaurant we have ever been to. The staff were wonderful, thankyou to James and everyone who made our afternoon so special. The food was incredible from the canopies to the bread to the mains. We wished we could...have stayed for the evening 😂. We will be back, thankyou Gordon and all your incredible staff. ❤️More

Without doubt one of the best culinary experiences in London. The whole experience from start to finish is spot on; the catering, ambience and service are all perfect examples of delivering a high quality experience. Bearing in mind the restaurant carries the name of one...of our finest chefs, the food is to the exemplary standard you’d expect, the service is what elevates the meal to a different level and earns five stars! You are never hurried, or left waiting for your next course or drink. From start to finish a very enjoyable visit.More

This was my first visit to RGR to celebrate my son’s birthday. I had mixed expectations based on the prevTA reviews however I needn’t had worried and my experience exceeded my expectations. Our son had the ‘carte blanch’ menu, a 7 course taster menu that...the chef selected, each course a pleasant surprise. My husband and I had the Menu Prestige, a 7 course tasting menu. From the creative menu with exquisitely combined flavours, all presented impeccably to the attentive service, we could not find fault. The staff were both professional and pleasantly cordial, the ambiance/atmosphere was relaxed and not at all stifled as mentioned in previous reviews. It was a wonderful evening for a special occasion, a bit too expensive for a regular visit but certainly planning to go back soon.More
