Situated on level 33 of The Shard, Hutong serves the fascinating and diverse cuisines of Northern China and is based on the much-loved restaurant of the same name in Hong Kong. Hutong’s cuisine takes its inspiration from the dishes served in the imperial palaces of what was then Peking. Based on the ‘Lu school’ cuisine of Shandong Province, the menu artfully captures the subtlety and surprises of Northern Chinese cooking. A cocktail selection inspired by ingredients used in Chinese cooking and stunning interior, complete with traditional Chinese red lanterns and beautiful hand-carved wood-panelled ‘Moon Gates’, offer London diners a new destination restaurant with panoramic views over London’s

we had a drink in this bar / restaurant, very cold reception - we were gauged like cattle to judge if we were worthy to enter and this on 3 occasions: by the porter, the vigil and by the person of the Home. Very rude...even though we were dressed properly! the waiter and bartender on the other hand were very nice! the view is great but the prices incredibly high: a beer and a gin and tonic = more than 27 poundsMore

We enjoyed my husbands 40th birthday dinner here and we had an absolutely lovely evening. The restaurant has a lovely ambience with of course a spectacular view. Our waiter was Periklis, who always approached us at the right time. He was pleasant and professional and...was not too intrusive. Thank you!More

Served by Laurence, and I have to say he made my mum’s birthday very enjoyable with his humour and attentiveness. All round great experience!

The whole experience promised so much but just kept failing to deliver. The best part was the breathtaking view on arrival in the reception area, but after that, it just felt that the experience started to flounder. We’d booked a table in advance But we’re...forgotten at the bar (over 15 mins to get served). The table we were sat at was both wobbly and hid most of the view, the writing on the menus were tiny and not helped in a dark environment and whilst most of the food was good, it wasn’t spectacular. I wouldn’t say it was great value (overpriced to be fair) and was one of those occasions that we needed to try for the experience but won’t be rushing back.More

Visited for the first time for my friends birthday. Was a table for six in the evening on a Tuesday. Service, food and views were amazing. Would recommend and visit again for another occasion.

Superb food, everything was amazing. The service was exceptional- Jason was our server and he was fantastic. We were celebrating a family birthday and he took care of everything to make it extra special. Would definitely return and recommend!

Great service from Periklis, nice ambience and fantastic view of the many central/city of London landmarks taking in the sunset on a pleasant weekend evening. However, the food (for me) is the main part of a restaurant experience and we thought that it was not...anything special. The food was not bad but it was not better than average either and we believe the food should have been special for the price paid. If you want to see the view from this location, then perhaps consider a 'view from the shard' experience then go somewhere else after to eat. 1x glass of dessert wine, 1x glass of Japanese whisky, 2x non-alcoholic cocktails, 2x starters, 2x main courses, 1x side, 1x dessert for £200. I will leave to you to decide if this represents good enough value but I would not recommend all things considered.More

Came here for dinner with my family and we very much enjoyed all the food, they even have a good range of vegetarian/vegan food. The location is great and the staff super kind, we were served by Periklis who promptly looked after us. Super recommended!

Amazing location, great food but the best was the service thanks to Edward. Tempura eel and the aromic beef rib in lotus leaf, were simply delicious

Yes absolutely yes they are fine about children in the restaurant. My son & I were booked in at midnight, as it was the only time left & he is a similar age. I called them to ask and they had no issues at all with his age... More
