A party from St Paul’s Church grange over sands visited for supper. The welcome they received was warm and the food amazing. Jacob and his family produced a delicious buffet with unexpected extras on the menu. We shall certainly be going again - where else...can your host and waiter entertain you with his juggling skills!More

Agree with all the positive comments. Called here after waiting a considerable time in a cafe in town and received no service. Warm welcome. Great selection of cakes individually described and home baked. Lovely cup of tea and cake and a good chat. A shame...it is so far from where we live.More

My wife and I had been given a recommendation to have lunch here by the proprietor of Brantfell guest house. Particularly to partake of the Victoria Sponge - "the best in Cumbria"- !! The food was excellent, with a very friendly and efficient service, catering...for gluten free as well. My wife could not have the Sponge, I did and 'twere excellent! Al fresco eating was made very acceptable despite the pouring rain. We highly recommend this cafe.More

Food’s great. Service is great. Staff really friendly. Breakfast delicious and - the quiche - simply divine! Not many people realise that there’s a large public car park directly behind the cafe so makes it really easy to go to Freshers for breakfast and then...wander in to Ambleside.More

Fabulous food with fabulous service. We stopped off here on a walk from Windermere and the service was outstanding. Such friendly people who couldn’t do enough for you. The food was also delicious. We opted for a toastie and quiche, and the quiche came recommended...straight from the oven, and what a great recommendation it was! If we are ever back in the area we will be stopping back here!More

Good foot, and more importantly in the Lakes - great service! Thanks for an enjoyable lunch, I had soup and sandwiches and my husband had the quiche. Lots of outside space too. Thanks.

This is my umpteenth time visiting Freshers. I love the cheery staff, who always chat to you, I love the chap who serves you outside and is always happy to help you to a table, and I love Doris, who I am told makes the...cakes. I'm only sorry that my singing lady was not there the day we visited, but we had lovely drinks and smashing home made cakes again. Re-fresher yourself here before or after your walks. See you (hopefully) soon in the not too distant future!More

What a great place. Fabulous food and brilliant customer service, so refreshing to feel so welcome. Thoroughly deserves the plaudits it has. Generous portions too. Went for a snack but got way more! Excellent!!
