Visited this pub last night after work for dinner and a drink with the hubby. Excellent service from the time we arrived, followed covid measures, hand sanitising stations and track and trace procedures. Very reassuring. Food was fantastic, my husband and I both ordered a curry with rice, nann bread and some masala chips to share. Honestly for a pub meal this food was delicious and very well priced. Would highly recommend. Staff were very attentive and friendly, really loved this pub and it’s atmosphere and of course the food. Will deffo be back again :)

I’ve been to the 5Rivers a few times with my family as we love the buzzing atmosphere & great food. The staff are really helpful and give good advice if you’re not sure on what or how much to order (they have handy takeaway boxes if your order too much)
If you haven’t visited yet, I highly recommend it, they have good covid-19 procedures in place too so we felt safe and happy whilst eating there.
Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Yesterday I Decided to give this sports bar a go as I have heard great things about this place, well I can honestly say it lives up to it’s great reviews. On arriving I was asked to provide my details and use hand sanitiser which is provided throughout the bar. The Staff were very welcoming and friendly. After a nice cool beer we decided to get a little bite to eat Kerry and Lauren were very helpful when deciding what’s best to eat, Considering I’m quite a fussy eater my needs were accommodated. What a lovely bar this is, can’t wait to return with my friends

OK so I appreciate that I am not a naturalised Brit, so I get that I don't really understand Cricket or your irony when joking. I do know that trip advisor is meant to be a serious site and having only just joined i thought I would experience the highest rated restraunt in Southampton. Now this is where I dont get the joke, this place is well not to put too finer point on it terrible, the sticky tables, plastic menus and food that I can get in any takeaway in any town. The salad which was on a 4" plate had no dressing, the mixed grill was about average to every other place, the service people were nice enough but seemed more interested in their phones, or what was going on out side, which brings me to location, I'm not going into that just watch out when parking.
Now I appreciate I don't get the joke that so many people are giving this place 5 stars I can only think that's its a Hampshire thing making us thickies from the city go to lousy places.
I do enjoy a good joke, and this was clearly at my expense.

Firstly we would like to thank you for visiting our pub and taking the time to leave us feedback. We are disappointed you don’t share the views of our many happy customers. We strive to provide great food, drinks and an excellent service for our customers.
Tables and menus are cleaned on a regular basis and due to COVID-19 we are cleaning much more regularly. Our mixed grill is one of our top dishes and a favorite amongst our customers, it is a shame you didn’t like it.
We give a complimentary small salad with a mixed grill if requested, or if you would have liked a larger salad you could have ordered it as a side which is on the menu, there is no dressing on the salad but it comes with chutneys that compliment the mixed grill very well.
Our staff are very friendly and welcoming, it is a shame that you didn’t mention any of your issues with the staff on the day as they could have tried to resolve your concerns.
Our pub is a sports bar and for that reason the location is great as it is walking distance to and from the football stadium.
Due to COVID-19 we have been taking down names and contact details of all our customers for track and trace, we have searched our records and unfortunately we can’t seem to find your name.

Me and may daughter go out once a month and take it in turns to pick somewhere to eat, it is not often we both agree to come back to somewhere together but 5 rivers is one of those times.
The food was amazing and we were served by Karen and Bianca who were both lovely and welcoming, which really went along way considering due to covid most places just want you in and out quick which doesn't make the experience enjoyable.
Even tho they were constantly serving and cleaning tables they were always smiling and having a laugh with you, which for once in this crazy time of feeling isolated in social situations it made us feel at home. Although we had to stay at our table the interaction with the staff made up for it.
really enjoyed our time at the 5 rivers and will be one of the places we will be returning to for sure

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for a few drinks and a bite to eat before we went off to an event. Hand sanitising & Covid track and trace at the door so all good there!. Good selection of beers on tap including Beavertown which always goes down well.
Plenty of TVs around the bar which would make this a very good spot pre and post a Saints game (when crowds are back in!)
ordered the mixed chicken and kebab which was absolutely amazing, great flavours and loads of it too, my mate ordered the tandoori chicken wings which were also very good.
Had a chat with the owner who explained the place very nearly closed during the pandemic, it’s great to see it didn’t as will be returning again for sure!

The first time coming to this bar/restaurant. The food was amazing, I would definitely recommend the mixed grill. It comes out on a sizzling plate and tastes incredible!
The place is very clean and tables are spread out. Due to COVID you leave your details at the door and hand sanitizer is supplied.
The staff were very friendly and polite. They were helpful with the menu and explained portion sizes etc.
Great service, staff were amazing we will definitely be back!

We travelled from wales to watch the rugby with our son in university. This place was so accommodating and the staff were amazing and friendly. We asked for one of the screens to watch the wales 🏴 match and they were so accommodating even though Manchester United and Southampton were playing. We ordered food and it was amazing we were so surprised to have fresh cooked delicious 🤤 food. We all had an amazing experience and the locals were good too joining in with us cheering wales 🏴 v’s Scotland 🏴 And we won 👍 if you want a friendly, fun and welcoming atmosphere then go here and the food is amazing 😋🤤 thank you for a great day.

Hi Hughsies2001 firstly we would like to thank you for choosing to spend your afternoon with us whilst visiting your son in Southampton. We are so pleased all 4 of you enjoyed your time with us and the food/ atmosphere was 🔥. Our staff do try to go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable so its nice to hear you and your family felt that way. We try to accommodate all sporting fans so when you wanted the Rugby on its what we will do so you don't miss any action. Also Wales winning was a bonus 😉 . We decided to go out for a meal for our friends birthday. 5 Rivers was recommended to us and was told to give it a try. We was all so glad we did, the food was amazing!!!! We all enjoyed our meals and would most definitely go back, portion size is good and great value for money. I had the small mixed grill and that was quite big and my husband had the chicken tikka sizzler. Love love loved it, table service from all staff was brilliant, friendly and welcoming and we would like to say thank you to Karen the manager for a wonderful evening. Thank you, we will be back x

We held a party here last week and I was absolutely delighted with every aspect. The management kept us informed and most importantly delivered on everything promised. The food was absolutely delicious, the venue was spotless, staff were very helpful and friendly and they helped make our occasion perfect. Highly recommend. Couldn’t fault it.

Visited several times since after being recommended over a year ago and they’ve been up to par every single time. The most succulent meats and delicate masala fish, a huge favourite of mine is the lamb chops, cooked to perfection. Was pleasantly surprised to see the photo of the mixed grill whilst finding restaurants to visit whilst I was in Southampton. The Indian mixed grill is a massive thing for Birmingham and it’s home and heart of the mixa! I lived in Leicester seen Leeds, London and Coventry try but no one can do it as good as brum UNTIL I saw 5 rivers picture so I thought I’d check it out and it did not disappoint cooked perfectly, the flavours, the tenderness the mixed grill was absolutely on point very impressed best one I’ve had out of Birmingham for sure and it could give them a run for their money too! extremely good value for money too with the portion sizes! The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a significant factor in getting me to visit Southampton again!

Been here a few times now, still great service as usual and food is amazing! Large selection of authentic Indian food can be enjoyed whilst watching the footy! The girls behind the bar are always on hand, currently running table service post lockdown with hand sanitizer around the place, plenty of space on 2 levels plus garden.. lovely atmosphere even in the current situation. Definitely worth a visit!

BEST PUB IN TOWN.
if you like sport there is TV's everywhere you look.
Food, although only a small menu, is delicious and perfectly served from opening until closing.
And then there's the bar staff - friendly and attentive. Know, or make the effort to know, there customers and give them a great experience.

We love our sports so we like to show a wide range on all our 13 TVs throughout the venue from F1 to Football etc. Yes our menu is not the biggest but we like to keep it simple so we keep the quality of food as high as possible. We recently visited 5 Rivers as part of a group of 15. The food was fantastic, especially the lamb chops, and the service was great. Although we ordered a large amount of food, it all came out in a timely fashion and to a very high standard. Would definitely recommend to anyone in Southampton looking for a family friendly location with good food. Will also definitely also be visiting again on my return down South.
