Lovely, friendly restaurant!! My first expiernce at rustico with the family, will be returning again soon. I rang prior to our booking as I can only eat gluten free meals. The manager was very helpful over the phone and took the time to attend to...my every need. Lovely atmosphere, greeted as soon as we got to the front door, smiles all around. Waitresses were very kind and friendly and one even gave my children colouring pencils, to keep them busy while we waited for our food. We look forward to coming back to rustico, thank you. 😊More

Asked for anchovies on pizza didn’t get any, but did receive an extra melanzane that had been added manually onto our online order that we unwittingly paid for. Rang the order in at 5pm and received the delivery at 7.30pm, half an hour later than...told. Not the usual experience we had hoped for.More

I’m going to start this by saying that I totally understand the pressures in hospitality at the moment - staff shortages create horrible operational issues and that’s a real challenge particularly at busy times. However, there is a point at which bad service goes beyond...the point of being bad to just plain awful - and knowing that staff shortages are a problem - someone simply needs to step in and fix it. Last night at 7:10 I ordered 5 pizzas online. I selected ‘asap’ for delivery. At point of payment the system said delivery would be by 8:30. Quite a long wait but ok, be patient, 8:30 came and went and there had been no contact from Rustico so I called at 8:40. ‘We’re busy it’ll be there soon’ was the first response from the girl who answered.’ I pushed a bit for something more specific than soon. I was passed to the ‘manager’ who said ‘we’re very busy’ again. Ok, but we’re very hungry and you’ve already been 90 mins. ‘Yours is the next order to leave, it’ll be 20 minutes maximum’ Phone down, ok. Be patient. 9pm. 9:05, 9:10, 9:15. Ok, calling again. Between 3 of us calling the number which was permanently engaged (probably with other hungry customers finding out where there food was) we tried over 60 times to get through (I can prove this with screen shots) Eventually, I got through - a little frustrated by now - to discover that it was the next order to leave. Not the next one like last time but the actual next one. 10 mins later at 9:30, 2 hours and 20 mins after ordering, food arrived. I’d had no communication FROM the restaurant, only finding information out because I called. I didn’t get a single apology, no offer of a refund or compensation, nothing. If you can’t provide a service, don’t offer it. If you are late, call and apologise. If I call you for an update, have the decency to at least apologise and give a realistic timeline for delivery. This was so disappointing. Time to find somewhere else for pizzaMore

Staff were very friendly and helpful, but that's where the good news stops. Starters arrived quickly, but the mains were slow to arrive, and one main ended up missing. The pizzas were burnt, very oily and soggy. Four of us finished our meal before my...husband's even arrived. Very disappointing, meal out with family would not recommend.More

Me and my family decided to choice Rustico on probably the most busiest time of the year so far, Bonfire night! We all wanted somewhere to order a takeaway so we landed on Rustico, and it was the best decision ever!!!! We was told our...drop off would be a bit delayed due to roads closed, we did have to ring up just to check up on our order and the member of staff we spoke to was amazing and so professional, I think her name was Louise and she was so nice and sorted everything out for us!! The pizzas and the Gnocchi was to die for....you better believe that we are coming back...ALOT!!.. thankyou so much for the beautiful food and service. Everyone needs to visit this god sent! Oh Rustico Hastings, you really let us down :( We arrived to a busy lovely restaurant, having booked, and eyed up a lovely cosy table. Sadly we were escorted down the stairs to what can only be described as a glorified storage area, which was...the total opposite- grotty, opposite the loo and soul-less. Our starter arrived- large garlic bread for the three of us, but no side plates. Luckily I found some on a near by table and grabbed some. After waiting a long time, with our empty plates in front of us, our kind waitress (she really was lovely) asked if we wanted anything else. Yes, we said, our mains- which we had already ordered. Oh, she said, surprised. Clearly our order had been forgotten, so she had to put it in again. By this time we were running late for the bonfire, which we were so looking forward to and had planned time for (which is why we were eating here first). The few staff were running around like headless chickens, clearly not coping nor well- managed. Surely they knew how many covers they had that evening? So I'm not sure why the restaurant was in such chaos. Eventually, our mains arrived. Very disappointing. Gnocci with tomato for me (with lots of cheese on top- despite me asking for no cheese- I'm vegan), plus two pasta with meatballs. No offering of parmesan cheese for the top (for the other two mains), or salt and pepper, or 'can I get you anything else?' from our waitress. We hardly touched our food- it was bland and not enjoyable. We walked upstairs to pay- to save time as by now we were very late and half of the procession had already gone by. No ask of- was everything ok? Basically- just give us your money and go. Very disappointing. The staff were friendly but too scatty, with poor customer service, and with food so bland we won't be going back.More

After being told the wait would be 1 hour and 45 minutes....We waited 2 hours and 20 minutes, phoned many times , no answer, 23 calls later we were told it would just be 5 more minutes, still no pizzas 20 minutes later....called again to...be told we would not have any pizzas, as their driver had finished 45 minutes ago despite the fact we were not informed and the money had been debited from my account. The manager said " I don't know what to tell you we haven't got a driver, we will give you your money back." The money still has not been refunded. We phoned Pizzarelli the pizzas were delivered within 30 minutes and were delicious.More

Unfortunately, on this occasion I am only going to put 2 stars regarding my last visit on Saturday evening. I usually love Rustico ! However I had a bad / disappointed experience: -Waited a fair bit before being greeted when we arrived -Table for 3...was the high table by the window which means it wasn't convenient for us three to chat properly (that could be just my preference) -Wrong drink came in. Had to tell staff -Waited a long time before getting our drinks order -Pizza was burnt on the crust (like black) -Had to request my dessert several times -Had to wave several times at the waiters to get their attention on several occasion -No one came to check if we were ok I don't know what happened last weekend but there was poor customer service. I hope it was just a one-off.More

Today my friend an I choose 3 starters Garlic Pizza Bread, Aubergine ballsx 2 and fried cheese fingers. Drinking 2 beers. Alessandro made the food tasty. Talking about the Wines I asked were the Merlot which was Italian but I wanted to know what region....Many wines producing regions. So vineyard grow on mountains and some by the sea. In Naples many wines are grown on volcanic soils. Sardinia has gins and wines Frappato etc., Alessandro treated us to pecorino. Music and atmosphere reminds me of Italy. I miss it.
