Fantastic Service

Recently visited Turtle Bay Bournemouth for an impromptu lunch with some work colleagues. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff (with a smile) and shown to our table with water being provided whilst we reviewed the menu. Our drinks and food order was promptly taken by Luigi. Our food came out in a timely manner along with an additional drink order taken.... Luigi was extremely attentive, ensured that we were happy with our food (which was very tasty, hot and of good portion size). I would recommend Turtle Bay Bournemouth on every level including location, food quality and customer service that Luigi provided us - My work associates were equally impressed and we all look forward to returning again soon.

All you can drink for two hours cocktails with a burger.

Great vibes, great deal...our waitresses Barbara was great catered for 18 of us, running backwards and forwards bringing us cocktails and food whilst being happy friendly and very helpful. Great service, great food and great deal had a great time would highly recommend.

Excellent Service and Great Food

We went to Turtle Bay this week and had a really good experience. We were served by Danni, the manager who was charming and helpful and continued to check on us during the evening. We had 2 for 1 cocktails - great deal, and a selection of delicious food, I can highly recommend the curries. Overall we had a superb fun evening surrounded by friendly service and a good atmosphere

Very Slow Service, Turtle Nay !!!

The staff were extremely nice in the restaurant, but the starter took over 20 minutes and the menu DOESN’T specify how spicy each dish is, and this was uncomfortable for my palet 🥵 Had to wait over 1 hour 20 minutes for the main dish to arrive which is totally unacceptable. They didn’t even offer anything for the wait, so I suggested that we should get a free drink, which they provided, but was in the restaurant for over 2.5 hours which is just way too long. I had a jerk chicken, but you had to pay of the all the sides, and this adds up, so why not just have the price with everything added on. The clientele were mostly pre-clubbing teenagers being extremely loud so don’t go here if you want a quite meal in a Saturday evening. Overall a bad experience and should be avoided!!

Amazing venue, but long waits and burnt food.

good atmosphere and the a pleasant waiter. nice drinks however waited almost a hour for our food and when it did finally come the burger was burnt and only tasted of charcoal and the halloumi was black and over spiced. no spice warning on the food and was very spicy which ruined the eating experience.

We went for the 2 for the price of 1 cocktails which were great, and had a meal afterwards. I’m coeliac so had to inform the staff. They were very good and explained what I could and couldn’t have with a folder so I could see the ingredients in every meal, but the waitress took the other people in my party’s orders, and the chef took mine, and it appeared that neither of them put the order into the kitchen, so we waited nearly an hour before getting our food. They did apologise and gave us a free drink each, but by then we didn’t really want any more to drink so would have preferred some money off the bill.

Once was enough!

I won't return to Turtle Bay, Bournemouth. It was a very disappointing experience. On the plus side, the atmosphere is lively and upbeat and our server, Babs, was friendly and did her best. This doesn't make up for stone cold food and a very long wait to be served. Half seven reservation, mains served at 9.30pm having had to chase. In our group of 8, pretty much everyone had a cold meal. We'd waited so long we couldn't be bothered to send it back to be reheated. I think the problem is a combination of insufficient servers for the number of diners and a kitchen that just isn't coping with the demand. If you like incredibly spicy cold food and you aren't in a hurry, you may well like the place. I enjoyed the time I spent with friends and the elderflower cooler, but I won't return to eat....ever. £50 per couple was a high price tag for poor quality food and service.

Terrible service

Me and my girlfriend had a table and the first drinks order was taken at 21.20 which was fine as we arrived at 21.13 but after that no one checked back on our table for 40 minutes , We had an empty glass on the table for 25 minutes which is ridiculously long , staff would walk past us and no one would say anything and then the next order they have taken was at 22.03 . When we asked for the bill it took more than 4 minutes for them to come and take a payment , not to mention that on google maps their venue is in a completely different locations and it took us 20 minutes to find the venue ... asking people around and we’re not locals. Terrible service

Looking forward, but left very disappointed

Me and my wife just come back from a 3 night stay in Bournemouth, we pre booked 3 restaurants due to Covid. Unfortunately this restaurant gave the worst experience. We booked on Monday night for 9pm, arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait outside for over 20 minutes as our table was not ready. I was really looking forward to the meal and was looking forward to the famous Jamaican jerk chicken and was hoping it tasted like the one served on a recent holiday in Jamaica. Once we sat at our table the nice young waiter gave us two menus and disappeared, it took him another twenty minutes to take our drinks order on a very warm night. Then another twenty to take our order, he then informed us what was not available which was most of the menu, not very good as with the wait outside and the order service over and hour had passed and then to find out there was not much choice left this was poor. We are both meat eaters and we ordered vegetarian starters and a jerk tray to share for two with two chips and another drink. Starters took thirty minutes to arrive and main meal forty five minutes after. When our jerk tray arrived the young man apologised, then big disappointment the tray should have had half a jerk chicken, rack of ribs, sausage and bacon and two chips. O no it didn’t no ribs or never offered alternative and only one chips. Another waitress apologised and offered us a complimentary drink, we declined as by now it was nearly 11pm. I was then presented with the wrong bill, he then gave us the bill with discount. I wasn’t looking for a discount I just wanted a nice meal. The food was poor, the chicken was dry hard a tasteless and we didn’t have a tidy quantity only 1 chips and one piece of chicken, I understand they could run out of popular food however why weren’t we told prior to food arrival, why didn’t they give us another piece of chicken as we only had enough food for one person knowing there was two people. We had sat in the restaurant for over two hours and left hungry, we were people watching and the poor waiters and waitresses were literally running and we seen the manager consoling one waiter and giving him water as he looked as if he was going to faint we also spoke to our waiter and he said this has been his busiest shift ever. I would like to think as a manager you could see you have it wrong. There was too many bookings and too many people in restaurant and very close together with not much safety for both staff and customers. Far too many bookings made effecting the customer experience. Very poorly organised. Looked like money was the goal forgetting staff and customer safety and satisfaction PS Cardiff restaurant is great.

Plastic found in my food!!!!!!!

I went to Bournemouth’s turtle bay this afternoon with a friend having helped her move into her new flat. I had the Mo’Bay Chicken and found pieces of plastic in my rice. The first waitress I told, didn’t apologise, to be honest she didn’t know what to say or do. She offered me another meal, but I did not want another one. The other waitress that was actually serving us, done the usual of ‘everything ok with you food’ whilst walking past our table, clearly hoping I was going to say yes, and seemed rather shocked when I said no. She did apologise, and again offered me another meal but I was half way through this one! Just be careful when you order from there especially rice dishes as it obviously comes in a packet that they roughly cut and pieces of plastic go into the food.

Disappointing

Good point - we were offered a table at our booked time slot. I asked to change tables as the one offered was close to the stairs. It took a while for the waitress to come back and clean the table we were moved to. My daughter and I ordered the curry goat, plantain and festival. When our food arrived, our plates looked like soup, the meat was absent. We were offered drinks on arrival once our food arrived we were not asked if it was OK or offered more drinks. Even with the eat out to help out discount I was not willing to the service charge as the customer service was poor. I spoke to the manager about our meals and asked for the service charge to be taken off. She was very apologetic and took the two curry goat meals off the bill, the service change and added a discount. The staff were overwhelmed due to the eat out to dine out offer.

Unstoppable bottomless brunch

We were initially anxious getting the bottomless brunch with ensuring that we would get our money’s worth within the couple hours. Danny boy put these worries at ease, working at the pace of a thousand men. We would not have had the day any other way and would recommend asking for him any time you want a bottomless brunch! Well done - 11/10!

Organised and quick service

My partner and I called in for a couple of drinks on Friday afternoon during a short stay within the area. The restaurant was organised in terms of seating, ordering and one way systems. The serving staff were attentive, and service cannot be complained about. We happened to visit during 2-4-1 time, making the cocktails great value for money too!

I booked for us eat at Turtle Bay. The food was average but the thing that was most disappointing was the fact that we were hounded every 5 minutes to buy more drinks by our waiter. It felt as if we were on timer from the moment we walked in. Three of us had a main meal & 3 drinks which totalled £117, so not good value for money. We were given 20 minutes notice that we needed to leave our table an hour after we arrived. Hopefully this place will improve when things get back to normal after Covid, but I won’t be going back to find out!!

My Husband booked a brunch as a surprise for my birthday, he booked it for 8 people but then was told that the maximum was for 6 people? The staff weren’t very accommodating. Food was okay, although one of the kids meals was wrong. Cocktails were good but as part of the brunch they weren’t very fast and we were often waiting for drinks. I would return but not in a hurry to do so
