The Escoffier Training Restaurant provides you with a dining experience in a relaxing and unique style, with menus designed to give you access to an eclectic array of dishes using many ingredients from local producers. Run by catering and hospitality students, and an experienced lecturing team, The Escoffier offers top quality food and service and opens both at lunch time, with a three course lunch menu, and three evenings a week serving more formal gourmet and theme menus.

Our group of 30 diners were treated to an interesting & delicious menu served by
lovely young ladies who are training to become air hostesses. The whole event was
well handled by Ingrid the College Restaurant Manager in a very professional manner, with the modest luncheon cost making it the best buy in Bournemouth.
Any special dietary requirements (diabetic/gluten intollerant etc.) can be accommodated if advised in advance supported by a good selection of wines or soft drinks.
We are having another event on 12th February which is again full, with demand
out stripping availability

It’s difficult to fault this restaurant once you take on board that it’s staffed by catering students training at the college. The silver service is pretty good - the waiters had all of 7 weeks training and I was impressed. The food is interesting and varied with good choices on the menu. The food was impressively well cooked and presented.
A quality three course lunch for less than £15 cooked and served by enthusiastic young potential catering stars of the future. Great!

Four of us visited the restaurant today for Christmas lunch and what a bonus it proved at this time of the year. Our waitress (Caitlin), training to be cabin crew, was lovely and the gentleman in charge of operations in the restaurant very good too. The meal, at £20 for four courses including coffee and petit fours, was exceptionally good value and the food really delicious - hats off to the chef. Thank you everyone involved

Good tasting menu--apart from the sole course. Bones both large & small were still in the fillet. The embarrased waiter came back with a message from the chef
( I quote ) Fish is meant to be served with bones in and its your job to do it yourself.

The Escoffier restaurant at Bournemouth College is simply the most innovative and exceptional restaurant in Bournemouth . It is a training restaurant but under the watchful eyes of the chef and hospitality tutors the culinary delights 3 evenings a week served up in the tasting menus are just out of this world .
We have eaten there many times over the years and every single meal has been fabulous . Since Covid days the evening
menus have been tasting ones , 7 courses at around £33 . The themes of the menus change every month or so . The last one we went to had the theme East meets West .
The restaurant is in a temporary building at the moment while the restaurant building is being rebuilt , it is smaller than usual so you must book to get a place .
The young students who cook and serve the food are so cheerful and keen to please , all in all it is a fabulous place to eat .
You can also have lunch at the college from Tuesday - Thursday , but another option is the fabulous £10 buffet lunch on Fridays , amazing value .
You can tell on reading this that I am very enthusiastic about The Escoffier , if you have not yet been there the try it out and you will also fall in love with the place !

We've visited catering college restaurants before and were looking forward to this. £16 for 3 courses? Yes, please.
The place is a testament to the unplanned, build whatever wherever 70's architecture but they've managed to bling the room and it looks good. Starters of guinea fowl and mixed seafood were plated beautifully and tasted good. Mains of duck leg and sea bass were amazing; my sea bass was partnered with pak choi, water chestnuts and a good reduction. Custard tart to finish was excellent, the jam roly poly less so. But the plates were cleaned.
Go support these fine students. Good wine list and price to although we stuck to soft drinks. £16 for three courses is an utter bargain in these or any times.

I took my parents for dinner here after seeing recommendations online. We had a 7 course tasting menu for £29 which in itself is a bargain!
The food was lovely and I liked the variety of the courses, and the fact you didn’t know what you would get until the day. There was SO much food and I loved the little bits you got after dessert, we ended up having to take these home!
The students were lovely and it was nice to chat with them about their course and seeing them being taught ☺️

Have visited many times in the last couple of years and have been impressed each time.
The students work extremely hard both front of house and pin the kitchen. Each dish arrived piping hot and a work of art displaying many skills. Wonderful flavours and excellent value for money.
These students hopefully will go onto be our top chefs of the future.
An enjoyable experience and suggest book well in advance as availability sells quickly.
Can’t wait until our next visit in December.

Another fabulous offering tonight at Escoffier. Really couldn't fault any of the courses the food but worth a real shout out for the lamb dish which was beautiful ( more black garlic sauce please ( beautifully silky smooth and rich!) .

Fantastic evening celebrating 7 60th birthdays !!!! Food was absolutely excellent extremely well presented and tasted amazing. Service by Hayden and Belle was attentive but not intrusive great ambience and experience well done to all who were involved made our celebrations extra special thank you

9 courses , absolutely first class , every course was delicious . Waiters and waitresses all young students were very polite and attentive . What a wonderful evening we had . We would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back. Thank you to everyone

Went with four friends on a Wednesday night, Service was good and the food was very good, considering both are done by students.
The disappointment was that the room was freezing cold and when mentioned to the supervisor got a curt reply blaming the economic situation.NOT the reply I expected or wanted !!

Been 3 times this year. Always good food BUT my pet hate every time the food was NOT HOT! Cold plates! WHY?? Sent back, returned slightly warmer...... such a shame as such a simple thing to remedy. When I order I mention this and hope they will bring it hot but ....... no. Also, maybe a few more veg would be good. They all try hard and its a nice ambiance now. Next time, hot pleeese! 😏😊

Went with a group of 11 fellow U3A classmates and had an absolutely fabulous time. The students serving were lovely and the food was really superb. As good as, if not better, than the majority of high end restaurants I’ve ever eaten in.

Wonderful meal.
Stumbled across the restaurant while looking fur somewhere different to eat in Bournemouth.
Wish we’d known about this previously as we’d have definitely gone on other visits to the town.
The catering students are certainly been taught well.
