Went with my wife and another couple on a Monday night in mid June. Everyone enjoyed their pizza (I had the vegetarian). My wife and I shared beers from the nearby Co-op (its BYO for alcohol with ÂŁ1 per bottle of beer, ÂŁ3 wine) and our friends ordered soft drinks.
The puddings looked really good. I was slightly underwhelmed by the Tiramisu. I usually am so as my friends pointed out I need to stop ordering it! They had both different type of profiteroles (white and standard chocolate) and they confirmed they were as good as they looked.
I was the only one to have a coffee but the cappuccino was outstanding and one of the best I have had in a long time. The bill for all 4 of us was just over ÂŁ61 (ÂŁ67 with tip) and this was excellent value as it included one portion of garlic bread, 3 desserts, soft drinks, a cappuccino and corkage as well as four pizzas.
The following night we were having a beer in the equally excellent All Hail Ale pub next door and we could not be bothered to go far as we had been to the National Trust Kingston Lacy House and were really tired. The barman confirmed we could order a pizza from Da Mario and this had arrived so quickly after I had paid and ordered in the restaurant that it was waiting for me after I nipped to the loo on returning to the pub. I ordered Margarita partly as people reckon it is the best pizza to judge a pizzeria by and it did not disappoint (decent value at ÂŁ6.50 too)
Highly recommended based on a dine in and takeaway experience.

Under normal circumstances we have a pizza every 6 months so the place must be doing something right that we ate in the restaurant 3 times and had a take away once. Sam the owner? is infectious and treated us as friends within minutes of entering the restaurant. Found the pizzas amazing and at a very reasonable price. Equally the desserts were clearly homemade and very tasty. Note this place can get very busy with both sit down customers and deliveries so strongly suggest you book ahead. Its BYOB but the Co-op round the corner does very reasonably priced chilled wine. If and when we return to holidaying in Bournemouth this will be our 1st stop to eat.

After an amazing day at the beach, we finished the day with a wonderful experience at Da Mario, very good service and very tasty food served in an warm environment.
The price is very good as well and our host Sam made us feel very nice and he was able to satisfy all our needs even if we were very difficult as guests.
Thank you very much!

We found this place by accident (it’s next to the pub I use as my local - the also excellent All Hail Ale) and really should use it more than we do. This restaurant is perfect, it has it all. Best proper Italian pizza, friendly efficient staff and great service. Unless they are super busy our order is super quick. However I hate waiting and the staff accommodate my idiosyncrasies - I order, pay and then pop back to my pint (pre-lockdown) and when my food is ready they drop it off at the pub. Above and beyond! To complicate matters my wife and I turned vegan a while ago. Their menu does not make it obvious that they cater for vegans but they do. Some vegan cheese tastes like plastic but their vegan pizza is just fantastic. Having worked in Italy I love a proper thin crust pizza and Da Mario’s pizzas are the best I’ve had outside Italy. Keep up the great work and look forward to popping in again soon. Cheers.

We used to come here all the time but we now live away from the area, for the majority of the time. However we were walking passed and saw Sam organising the pizza boxes so asked if we could order our favourite pizza, The Vesuvio. No problem with social distancing and very fast service. The pizza was just like we remember. Absolutely fabulous and cooked to perfection. Can't wait to revisit when we are next here. Well done to Sam and his crew for the reminder of how fab their pizzas are. S&M

As soon as we entered the door the place felt like a family friendly environment which the staff enjoyed working in. We were taken to our table straight away and given a good time to order. The food was ready after about 15/20 mins and was cooked extremely well. The bring your own bottle feature was a huge bonus. Would definitely recommend .

Da Mario is a seemingly quiet and unassuming small restaurant on Queens Rood, Bournemouth by the old Bournemouth West Railway Station (now a coach park).
They already have a fabulous reputation for their sit-down diners but during COVID they opened for delivery and collection and continued to serve the local community throughout by making their delicious pizzas.
Always very fresh and very tasty to eat!
Thank you Team

We placed an order for 4 pizzas early in the day for delivery in the evening. The first delivery was not ours, so the driver returned to get the correct order. It appears our order was delivered to the wrong the address but they didn't return them. We had to wait for them to be remade. A couple of the pizzas were burnt and one was supposed to have anchovies on it, it had 2! One of the other pizzas was mainly covered in rocket and nit alot else. The only good one was the calzone (a little burnt but edible). We didn't complain as we had already been waiting over an hour due to the mix up! I would try again as I have only heard good reviews about this restaurant.

As a pizza lover, I'm always on the hunt for pizza gems. I was thrilled to find another one at Da Mario. Upon arrival, we were temperature-checked and asked to track & chase before sanitising and being seated. We were served by a friendly gentleman who fetched us some ice and glasses for the wine we had brought (BYOB). For starters we ordered some garlic bread and bruschetta. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the garlic bread. The bruschetta was good too - very tomatoey! Our pizzas came out beautifully; the dough was to die for and the sauce was super flavoursome. I had a minor issue with my order because it was missing a topping. When I explained this to the waiter, he was very apologetic and said that I could be made a new pizza or have this topping removed from the bill. I said it was fine for the latter and assured him that despite the topping issue, the pizza was excellent! Safe to say I ate every single bite. We were not too tempted by dessert but opted for the profiteroles (both milk and white chocolate). These were by far the best profiteroles I have ever tasted!! At the end of the night when our bill came, we were told that we would not be charged for our desserts due to the missing pizza topping. I thought this was excellent service and made for the perfect end to the night. Overall, this was undoubtedly our best meal of our holiday and we would return next time in Bournemouth!

We came to Bournemouth for a long weekend stay. We decided to have a pizza on our lastnight, googled some restaurants around the area and came across Da Mario's. The reviews were good so we went to check it out.
We got there around 8:15pm and it was busy, all signs of a good food place. I was greeted with smiles from the staff and asked if there would be any tables available. One of the staff members said there was a 30-45min wait, in which he was interupted by looks like the manager of the restaurant, he informed us that he could seperate a table for 2 for us within 5-10mins, which we was very pleased about, just shows how much customer service is important to them.
We sat down once our table was ready, it felt like a homely environment, an authentic Italian restaurant in which you dont see these days. We had to wait bout half hour or so to give our order in but seeing the amount of deliveries being ordered and how busy it was, we didnt care as they found a table for us.
For starters, we ordered the Garlic bread with cheese, For mains my girlfriend had the ciao pizza and i had the Diavola pizza. ( See photos), we wasnt disappointed with the quality of food! Overall, if you want a pizza in the area..go to Da Marios! Thanks :)

Excellent restaurant just around the corner from Premier Inn where we stayed. Best pizzas for years in the UK and good news! No licence for alcohol but wine glasses supplied and a Co-op next door to buy a bottle of wine. Extremely reasonable corkage charge of ÂŁ3 together with friendly service makes this a winner when staying nearby.

We had the most amazing meal at Da Mario last night! We normally go to Baffi in Canford Cliffs if we fancy a pizza, but it is closed on a Monday evening, so we thought we would try Da Marios. We haven’t eaten here since the new owners took over a few years ago. Oh my, what a pizza!!! Crispy and puffy round the outside, and soft in the middle, just the way a Neapolitan pizza should be. My husband chose the Vesuvius which he said was incredible. I chose the vegetariana with extra Neapolitan broccoli (a marinaded stem broccoli that tasted absolutely delicious) and vegan cheese. The vegan cheese is much nicer than the one at Baffi, and overall the pizzas were definitely superior. The service was amazing, considering there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant. You need to bring your own alcohol so my husband had a bottle of wine from the off licence across the road, and I had a couple of cans of San Pellegrino (pomegranate and orange mmmmmmm!!). Would definitely recommend. Thankyou for such a great meal!! :)

Da Mario’s has become my favourite pizzeria in Bournemouth. The sauce has incredible flavour that brings me back to my time in Tuscany. The owner and staff are unbelievably friendly and accommodating. I think you would struggle to find a better restaurant locally for such a reasonable price

We had a fantastic meal at Da Marios for my fiancé’s birthday. It was our first time in Bournemouth but we will be back with our friends for sure. The restaurant itself is lovely and quaint, the staff were very attentive and friendly.
The starters and desserts were delicious but the pizza stole the show. It was one of the best we have both ever had. The dough was light, pillowy and crispy at the same time and we managed to eat a full pizza each. Nduja was on as a special topping, it should definitely be on the menu permanently!
The restaurant is suitable for couples, families and groups. Staff were wearing some PPE and the tables were spaced out from one another. For the time we were there, covid was the furthest thing from our minds. It was nice to fell some normality again.
Thank you Sam and all the staff at Da Marios, we look forward to coming back very soon.

We visited Bournemouth for bank holiday weekend. Just before leaving Bournemouth, we had to feed our 2 little girls, who only wanted pizza or pasta. So we looked high and low and found this place.
Another small family stepped inside just before us.
We were seated immediately with friendly staff. Ordered on time.
40 mins later and no food. Kids are starving at near 7pm. We called over the staff and she was shocked we didn't get our food. Then a chef came over and gave a lame excuse "sorry your order ticket got placed behind another". OK... So is that what also happened the the customer who entered the same time as us ? Because he still didn't get his food after 1 hour neither.
Food was nice, kids enjoyed it too.
When we asked for the bill, it came to ÂŁ45, we asked for some discount due to the stupid delay and inconvenience caused, especially to our kids.
They point plank refused, and offered a proxy ÂŁ3 dessert for free instead. Like I'm going to drive 2 hours back home in the dark and eat dessert. We declined their offer, and I'm writing this review instead.
I would not recommend this place. They had weren't even compassionate that our kids had to wait and starve an hour, and no gesture if good will or good heart.
