I visited for a three course Christmas meal. I was blown away by the attention to detail, artistry and of course the taste! My taste buds were dancing. I had scallops and chorizo starter. Ok being a mushroom hater I gave away my scallops but goodness me the chorizo was so tasty! I wanted more! I had a nut roast and sampled some beet Wellington which was divine. I was somewhat stuffed and didn't want dessert but the lovely waiter managed to convince me ~ I had cheesecake that was SO delicious. I could throw around adjectives here to describe it but I will resist! There was some faff with the bill and when I came away I realised we had been overcharged for drinks. But when I consider a Christmas menu of this quality being £30 for a 3 course feast I wasn't too disappointed with the error. Had I more disposable income I would happily be a regular here. Hope to come again soon!

The food was very tasty and interesting, I enjoyed trying to identify the ingredients that made the “meat” dishes. Service was attentive. My only gripe is that not all of the staff were wearing masks properly and the meal was very expensive for plant based food when the ingredients are intrinsically cheap.

Found via Tripadviser and it didn’t disappoint. Once in awhile you find a restaurant that really has thought of everything. The decor is tasteful, understated but relaxing. The music is varied, uplifting and at the right volume to accompany a meal rather than dominate it. The service from the minute you walk in is attentive, informative and unobtrusive. The Perspex partitions actually add to the feeling of being part of something without other people’s conversations drowning out your own, a rare feat in a Covid world. The food options are extensive and thoughtfully composed. The meals are beautifully presented and nothing is too much trouble. I just wish I lived closer to Bournemouth so I could go more often.

The aesthetic was a classy contemporary vibe and the service was very attentive, which made me more excited to try the food as I am a fellow vegan and love to go to as many vegan establishments as I can. I had the Vish (tofu) n chips. This was so very disappointingly average. I've eaten a lot of tofish in my time at many different vegan restaurants and this was by far the worst. Others I've tried have all been amazing, so I was very disappointed about the taste at Twelve Eatery. The batter hadn't been whisked properly, as I cut into the Vish, bits of flour came out of the batter. Considering the technicality of making batter isn't hard, I was very surprised that in a place that charged £15 for this meal couldn't execute the dish to a higher standard, unlike the many other places I've visited. This makes me so sad as I love hearing about new vegan restaurants opening and I look forward to going to them. But I felt Twelve Eatery was trying too hard to bring a high end market to vegan restaurants and not succeeding because of the average quality of the food.

Beware when dining here. The food and service was decent, but the evening was soured by the bill which seemed high. Checking it later, they had charged £8 for a jug of water that was on the table that we did not order and they had charged for another random dish that we did not order. Maybe they needed to balance the till at the end of the evening, but for local people this seemed poor judgement as we are now unlikely to recommend it here.

TWELVE EATERY
Hello Pedro, Thank you for taking your time to write to us. It is really disappointing to read your comments. We are sorry to hear about your intent to downgrade our restaurant. I'm afraid you left us rather suspicious after we followed our investigation procedure. Creating a TripAdvisor account only to leave an unfair one star review to ANY business is unacceptable. We find hard to believe what you are suggesting actually happened. And here's why: As part of the induction to work at Twelve Eatery, a training programme is passed onto every member of staff. One of the topics of this training is what we call the TWELVE STEPS OF SERVICE - created to provide excellent service throughout our guests dining experience, from arrival to departure. Our goal is to create a unique tailored experience to our guests needs, so nothing is missed. One of the S.O.S (steps of service) is, as per our standards, to ask to every table if they would prefer STILL, SPARKLING or TAP WATER. We are passionate and proud of the experience we provide and we believe in creating a bespoke and efficient service to our guests. Our servers are trained to verbally offer the three options and to serve accordingly. If you have been charged for mineral water this would have been served by our bar team and poured to every water glass on the table. Just to clarify, there's no way to place items on guests bills without a ticket order. I'm afraid to say your accusation is incoherent. There isn't such a button on our tills for a water jug at £8 nor for mineral water at that price. This proves your review to be untrue. A further step of service to avoid possible mistakes on our training programme is what we call the TBC - the bill check. Presenting a bill is also part of our guest experience so we take every precaution until our guests departure. We have created the standard through training for our team to check every item of our guests bills before printing. The only person allowed to confirm and print the bill is the server which looked after your table. Only after that the bill is presented to our guests. So the worst case scenario here is that a supposed order ticket was placed, added to your bill, ignored by our bar team, then ignored by your server and given to you? If this actually happened it seems like you didn't have the courtesy of informing one of our team, paid the bill and left? Any feedbacks/complaints brought to our attention are taken very seriously. If you only saw your bill after you left, you didn't think to contact us? It's tough enough for all new business like ourselves (specially during these times) so we take every possible measure to improve and perfect. I'm afraid to say that no similar comments were found on our complaint handling book log which means your review is the first we hear. Word of advice: the hospitality industry is the third largest industry of employment in the UK. Millions of livelihoods and their family depends on their jobs. If you truly cared about a place you visited or a person which served you and mistakes actually happened, I guarantee they would do their absolute best to correct, rectify and make it up to you. If you don't have the decency to approach any of us, there are several ways to get in touch with any business about it. But if your intentions are nothing but to put down our hard work, I'm afraid you haven't succeeded. You have accused our employees of internal theft by balancing our tills in the end of the night by adding false items to our guests bills. This is a grave accusation and we are deeply offended by that. TWELVE TEAM

My partner and I were really looking forward to our first meal out since lockdown at Twelve (one of my favourite restaurants) However, this time the experience was somewhat unpleasant. The food was mediocre & portion sizes laughably small for the price. We hadn’t been there even an hour & after our main a man who hadn’t been serving us came out and said ‘Do you want a dessert or can we close up the kitchen now.’ This made us feel quite unwanted & rushed. Both of us working in the catering industry we understand these are difficult times but we came away feeling rather disappointed.

This place gave us mixed feelings. Food: We started with the special of the day which was a seaweed salad, really good. Then we had a “chicken salad” , again amazing. The disappointment was the wellington. It didn’t have anything that resembled meat in texture or taste. Let alone the fact that the chef forgot to add salt to out plate, like at all - I usually have below average salt levels so me noticing this is actually alarming! Atmosphere: the interior design is really nice. Given that these are COVID times, the had very nice screens between tables to separate tables. However, our waiter (who was really nice and kind explaining to us all the specials and the favourites on the menu) was not respecting social distancing at all. The music was so loud so he had to lean in so close to us and shout! Basically everything that shouldn’t happen at these difficult times. I understand that it must be hard for the staff but maybe the management would like to consider face masks for the staff members if they don’t want to lower the volume of the music.

Our first visit (shameful to say as am local and a vegan for several years) and what a treat this was. Myself my parter (also vegan) and my parents (not the least bit vegan😑) all had three courses of delicious food. Not to mention the best espresso martinis in Bournemouth. The burger was BUILT! full of flavour filling and my oh my those chips were perfection, crispy, fluffy, they really hit the spot. My mum was particularly impressed with the soups special and her carbonara, its easy to please a vegan (we've forgot the addictive gooeyness of dairy) so I'd say given she is a hardened cheese feind, you had her satisfied so that's a Win! The staff were attentive without being intrusive allowing us to enjoy each others company and to absorb the stylish, calm ambience of the resturant. Thus place is an asset to vegan dining, the triangle and Bournemouth. Keep up the great work. If you haven't got it yet I loved it!

We had an outstanding lunch at Twelve Eatery today. From start to finish the experience was flawless! I'm a very considered customer and well known for my discerning nature (that's what I call it, anyway!). You can feel the love and attention to detail in everything from the decor, to the service and ofcourse the food itself. We have eaten in some excellent restaurants, including 1 and 2 Michelin starred establishments, and the starter we had in particular was at the same level in terms of its construction and balance of flavours. Furthermore the value for money was incredible! Highly recommended for anyone who cares about what they eat and with the added bonus and delight of an aesthetic experience. Normally we ask people their names but I think we were so gobsmacked by the whole thing that we totally forget so sorry we can't offer a personal thanks to the team and restauranteur/owner. If we lived nearby we'd be back on a regular basis!

I have just had a late lunch at Twelve in Bournemouth and I can honestly say this is the best vegan restaurant I have been to. I live in London and am almost a life long vegan, and regularly dine in vegan and vegetarian restaurants. The owners of Twelve has created a classy, cool and vibrant eating experience. The attention to detail is phenomenal (the cleanest toilets you could hope for) from the decor, the food presentation, to the impeccably friendly service. The menu is varied and very well thought out, without being too long. The restaurant has been made covid 19 safe with well designed clear screens between tables, which have been so well installed they are almost unnoticeable. I had the beetroot salad to start and my girlfriend had the bruschetta. For mains we both had the beer battered tofu with chips and a side of truffle macaroni cheese. For dessert we had the pumpkin pie and the cheesecake. I also had the tropical thunder smoothie. Every mouthful was divine and full of amazing flavour. Between us we had seven dishes and three drinks and the bill came to just under £80 without service. This was excellent value for money. I would wholeheartedly recommend Twelve to vegans, flexitarians and meat eaters. I would even take a train from London to Bournemouth just to eat here.

Oh what a delight from the minute we arrived until we left. We were instantly made to feel welcome by the gorgeous owners who were passionate about what they do and justifiably so. We started with cocktails and then proceeded to work our way through three delicious courses which we wouldn’t normally do but we couldn’t resist and because the cocktails were so moreish we just had to have another one. An absolute must for anyone who wants to avoid meat or fish but also for anyone who wants to try something different, you don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to enjoy your experience at this lovely restaurant. Bournemouth is so lucky to have this gem.

We hadn't been before and the last time we were in Bournemouth there had been a dearth of veggie and vegan eating places. This more than makes up for that. We had the three course Christmas meal offering - a starter of a trio of beets including a feta cheese mousse that was made from coconut water and other ingredients yet tasted just like feta cheese itself. This was followed by a vegan super seeds and lentil nut roast (yummy!) with all the usual trimmings. We shared a dessert - a sticky toffee pudding made with walnuts, hazelnuts and cranberries and topped with warm toffee sauce and vegan madagascan vanilla ice-cream. We had booked a table through OpenTable and were glad we did because the restaurant was full all evening and turned away a number of hopeful chance diners. The mock cocktails were interesting but were the only item that seemed to be overpriced. The waiting staff were polite and friendly and took great delight in providing high quality customer service, including finding out answers to some of our more technical questions about ingredients.

The starters we had were quite nice - oyster mushrooms and tempura vegetables but it’s hard to do them wrong really and that would be expected. But all of the mains we had were bland, under seasoned and lacking any depth of flavour. The burger was burnt, and the battered tofu which was meant to resemble fish and chips was bland too. I just feel like for those prices I should have an experience that would be better than I can do at home. The cheesecake was nice at the end but overall the experience left a sour taste on our mouths. When we confronted a waiter about the burnt burger he assured us that it ‘came like that’ but we could all see and taste that it was burnt and bitter. Overall I would give this place a 4 out of 10 and would not recommend to friends if you want a luxury vegan experience.
