My partner and I came here for her birthday and we had a great experience! We arrived to great service, ordered a starter between us to come at the same time as our mains, which it did. The food was truly divine, I had the Moussaka and my partner had the Lamb Kavurma and wanted to lick our plates clean (would of done if we were in our own company). Had a dessert each afterwards. We got on very well with the owner, who offered us a Turkish coffee, as we had never tried it before, which was quite nice considering I don’t actually drink coffee. We had a Turkish beer which was really nice as well. Very reasonably priced and food is top top quality, would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Just had an amazing meal here. We were originally booked to eat somewhere else, but they cancelled us as they had a problem and were unable to open. Looked on trip advisor for somewhere to eat, Agora came up and had amazing reviews, this made us try it, and I'm very glad we did, the reviews are right...food was amazing, staff friendly without being intrusive and very reasonable prices, would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.!! Prawn starter was tasty and my klefito was delicious, other half had the lamb cutlets and were melt in the mouth. Turkish coffee very nice and complimentary too!!

We found this restaurant whilst staying in Bournemouth for a funeral. The only thing letting it down is the area it is in, but see past that and you will not be disappointed. From the opening greeting to leaving we were made to feel very welcome, we could just as easily been sat in their home. I had the dolma, my husband had the sucuk kuvarma. Both were delicious and complemented by warm flatbreads, quite possibly the best we have ever had in a Turkish restaurant as they were soft and pliable for dipping into the houmous. For mains I had saganaki and hubby had the mixed grill. Again we were given more bread which was delicious dunked into the prawns and their sauce. We also had an extra portion of houmous. We both had a beer and ended up sharing starters and mains The cost was just over ÂŁ70, which in our opinion was very reasonable. Similar in our local area would be about ÂŁ90 as there would be a charge for the bread and extra houmous that we had. We would not hesitate to go back and will do when next in the area. I should add we actually went back the next night after the funeral and this was just as good as the first time

The moment our family of 6 walked through the door we felt uncomfortable with the way we were welcomed. Thinking that maybe we were paranoid we decided to stay. We put in our order and my husband asked the waiter a couple of questions, the response was very dismissive and offhandish. At some point the smoke alarm went off and the waiter came back to apologise for the noise to another couple sitting opposite us whilst completely ignoring us. Food was served within a reasonable time and tasted average and was overpriced, even compared to London prices. No offer of condiments or to check if everyting was ok (not difficult to do as there was only us and another table that was occupied). We went there based on reviews, wished I had paid attention to the 1 star ratings. Good luck if you go there! Hope you have a better time than we did.

Main pluses Good varied menu, especially the choice of starters. Kebabs excellent which even our fussy son fell for! Generous portions Try the dishes with the yoghurt accompanying them; it is an excellent match The aubergine and tomato hot starter was terrific Efficient service Slight minuses Roasted meat is not on menu (like you may have in a greek restaurant) Limited selection of wine by glass, and no 125ml measures. The wine is good quality though Rice comes with nearly everything. However this may be a feature of turkish main courses?

Visited on Friday, warm welcome, friendly staff and I liked the fact you could see the chef cooking the food. Large menu to choose from, all freshly cooked. Very well presented.

The restaurant is situated in Old Christchurch Road which on the Friday night we were in Bournemouth, was quite lively. The Agora was like a haven. The staff were friendly and easy to chat to especially about out Turkish experiences. The food was excellent plus the flatbread and 2 dips was delicious. I had chicken shish and my husband had a lamb dish served in a metal bowl. Definitely recommend.

We had a lovely evening we was not disappointed the food was top notch, after eating at many Turkish restaurants around the UK this is the best we have had, was like being in Turkey with the local cuisine, the service was excellent and the staff was so friendly, took time to come amd speak to us, the atmosphere was lovely .. The chef cooked with love and that reflected on the taste of the food. The baklava and another dessert we had was delicious we will definitely be back and would definitely recommend. Thanks for making our anniversary meal so enjoyable guys.

What an amazing place to eat. Chef cooking the food in front of you and the staff ever so friendly and very attentive. Chicken skewers and rice and the baklava (wowza) best ive ever had. Certainly reccomend this to people visiting and the locals eating there. Thanks Agora team, my first time. Certainly visit again. Recommend to book as when we arrived, was no one it but tables were reserved, each table full by the time we left.

A fabulous meal in a beautiful restaurant, lovely atmosphere and really helpful waiters. I was tempted by several of the meals available and the waitress suggested to try the Agora lamb from the specials section. Wow what a fabulous dish that was, generous portion of fresh salad, nice fluffy rice and a minced lamb parcel stuffed with just the right amount of melted cheddar cheese and topped with peppers. It was fabulous! Thanks Agora, I cannot wait to visit again! My compliments to the chef!!

Excellent food, great service, location and decor. Waiter was formal and attentive without being cold. Complementary warm pitta breads always welcome, as well as Turkish Delight at the end of the meal. Smell and taste of fresh meat cooked on a charcoal grill makes all the difference, plus the excellently cooked rice (which the waiter was happy enough to give us a recipe for - not sure we'll be as successful as they were!) Recommend to anyone coming to Bournemouth, a must eat!

Delicious food and nice wine. Had the chicken and rice special in a tomato sauce and my partner had chicken with yoghurt and bread which was exceptional! Very friendly waiter too. Only issue was we were sat by the door and would get drafty.

Popped in shortly after opening time before heading home after work. We were greeted warmly and the owner / staff member was very attentive. We had the house white wine which was lovely and crisp. To eat we had Kalamari, Karides, Yoghurt Chicken Kebab and Lamb Shish Kebab... all of which arrived hot, were very flavoursome, with fresh ingredients and service with a smile... we couldn't fault it at all, it got rather busy before we left and we can tell why, we can't wait to go back!
