(tl;dr) Great, will definitely visit again!
Visit details: 2 adults and 2 under 3's
I saw the menu through the window while the place was closed and was very interested.
On my way back through town I saw they had opened so I poked my head in to see if they would book us a table for the next day, I believe I spoke to the owner/manager and a member of waiting staff.
They were very helpful and got us all booked in for a table. (I book tables for 30-45 mins after opening times so that the kitchen can be in full flow)
We had bread and olive oils with balsamic/garlic as entrees, the breads were really good, I didn't ask about the source or if they were baked on site, I didn't have to.
They have an open kitchen at the back, I met their chef, he was really good to talk to and super-knowledgeable about the menu and food.
We then ordered children's meals and adult starters (selection of)
The presentation and service was very good as expected, then we ordered pizza and pasta to share, I like to try pasta in places and also pizza, it was as expected (authentic italian)
I'm unable to do the experience justice, very friendly, amazing food (pasta and pizza as if i was in Italy again)
This evening I'm attempting to replicate their salmon pasta which was amazing (cream sauce with garlic, flaked salmon and tagliatelle)
Great job guys, I'll see you next year!

I often join friends to eat in this restaurant when I’m in Boscombe. Its really great to have this wonderful place so close to where I stay. I’ve never had a bad meal here. This time we had the specials which were clearly freshly prepared with pride by the chef who checked with us later if we had enjoyed his pasta . I had the salmon ravioli which was great. I’ve been to Italy many times and the food here is very authentic. It’s a friendly value for money place that serves up food you would pay a lot more for in more upmarket places in smarter areas. Give it a go you wont regret it.

We recently visited this restaurant during the summer holidays. It was such a wonderful experience that I felt that I should leave a review. The owners obviously love what they do and it really comes across in the food and the service. Top marks for this wonderful place and the tirimusu was absolutely divine!!!

We booked a table for 9 people on Saturday evening and were advised to come at the time of our booking and not earlier as the restaurant was fully booked.
We arrived at the time of our booking to find the restaurant closed and the shutters down. We called and no one answered!
No call was made to us to inform us of the restaurant being closed or our booking being cancelled. We booked two taxis which cost £15 each to make our way to this restaurant to find that it was shut.
Terrible and not a single one of us will book back here again.

On the eve of visiting this restaurant, I called them to confirmed the booking time which turned out to be 7pm. I asked if this could be changed to 7.30pm and the lady on the the phone said "yes or course no problem." We arrived at the restaurant at 7.20pm to be met by the scowling Manager, who blasted at us "You were supposed to be here by 7" We explained the call the day before but he ignored our explanation and said "Really? Well its not in the diary" "Who did you speak to?" It was very clear he didnt believe us and was accusing us of lying.
This started the whole meal on a sour note. Following the unfriendly accusations the ongoing service was poor. Our drinks order did not arrive and had to re-requested, the wait after the main meal was so long we gave up on ordering the desert and then had to wait an age for the bill. On top of this the food is ok not great.
The Manager needs to learn some manners as his customer services skills are dreadful. He really lets down his staff!

Visited whilst staying in Boscombe and after searching on trip advisor and reading positive reviews decided to give it a try. We hadn't booked but they were able to accommodate, Had a bottle of house red which was reasonable priced and had pizza as main, food came quite quickly and very hot. Was good that you could see the chef cooking. Would recommend 100% .

We order a take away, the soup was horrible, most water and expensive, lasagna was not only expensive, but was only layers and layers of pasta, very, very thin layer off meat in the bottom, the sea food pasta was extremely acid.
The Carbonara was acceptable.
They charge us the same prices for the take away, that they charge the people eating in the restaurant.

Have been twice in last two weeks, not disappointed either time. Pizza bases are excellent and toppings are too. Superb risottos. The wine list is limited however the house red/white/rose are perfectly authentic and match the food well. Ask for the special dessert of the day; I had a sicilian layered cake with nuts and chocolate, then on next visit a modestly-named lemon cake but was not ordinary as was splashed in limoncello and had excellent mascarpone cream accompinant. One of these to split between 2 people if you have been full up with pizza/pasta -:)

What a lovely restaurant and run by such genuinely warm, friendly people. We had dinner at the restaurant on a Monday evening and there were several other occupied tables. We were welcomed and seated beside the bar and our drinks order was taken promptly. I ordered Penne Pollo e Funchi while my partner chose Spaghetti Ai Frutti Di Mare, we also ordered garlic bread and one portion was enough for two people. The food looked great when it was presented and tasted equally good,

Read great reviews about this Italian restaurant, as had a weekend (Saturday 24hrs away from kids etc). For me and my wife to have to time together, based in Banbury went down to Bournemouth early Saturday stayed thr night. Can't go wrong with an Italian restaurant, especially if it is a good one. And Pizzeria via Rome is amazing. So friend the staff their, and the food tip quality. If we were full from our main etc would have definitely had a pudding. But as had later lunch couldnt go for a pudding. The meal was lovely, and seeing other dishes being served up to other customers looked amazing. Lovely friendly amazing staff (family members) from start to finish. Made one feel so welcome. If ever come back to Bournemouth 100% would come back to this restaurant again. This time have an earlier lighter lunch to try the pudding. This is a must place to go if you love Italian food. Keep up the amazing work 🙂👏👍

We went out for fish and chips, when it started to rain we saw this place and even though it was packed they were extremely accommodating even though we hadn’t booked.
Amazing hosts, real Italian atmosphere and the food is just amazing. Pizza for me and arrabiata for the better half, simply gorgeous food.
So good we came back 6 days later, for arriabata again and pollo e funghi pasta - again amazing.
Would thoroughly recommend.

My wife, myself and a friend booked a table in Via Roma for pizza before attending a gig in the O2 Academy. We ordered two pizza's to share and a portion of chips, and both pizzas and the chips were delicious. We washed the food done with a bottle of house red wine which was extremely nice for a house wine. It seemed like it was a husband and wife team who were both extremely friendly and welcoming. It appeared to have local return diners which is a good sign and the other dishes looked lovely too. Will definitely return from now on when in Boscombe for a gig. If I didn't live 30 miles away, I'd go back tonight!

We went last year and loved it. Came back again this year and it wasn't the same. Service was so slow, 90 mins for child's Spaghetti bol and a bowl of penne pasta. Same meal ordered but was completey different to last year. Sorry to say but not my favourite any more

Just stayed 5 nights in Bournemouth and loved this place so much that we ended up visiting twice. Authentic Italian pizzas and pastas (tried both and they were equally delicious). The owners are welcoming and friendly, and are obviously passionate about delivering quality food and service. The restaurant is relatively small and cosy and has a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Suitable for families, friends and couples alike, looking for lovely food served by a lovely Italian couple

Came here for a date one year later with my partner, same date and place, one year later. Last year and the few occasions in between I always had a lovely meal and service in Pizzeria via Roma. Food was delicious and I kept wanting to go back but this time I am left very disappointed.
I booked a table for Friday 20:30 (not knowing the restaurant opening times but assumed this would be fine) the lady booked us in with absolutely no problems. Once we arrived we were greeted well and sat in the same spot we did last year. The lady took our order some time later so we did wait a little for that but that was fine. We got delicious starters. As our mains came out it was around 9pm, I saw the lady come and change the ‘open’ to closed sign so I thought oh that’s interesting, and checked they closed at 9:30! We had quite a lot of food left and only just got our mains. (Ps I’m a slow eater!!) the restaurant wasn’t busy but we had booked for this time so we didn’t want to cut this too short and unenjoyable. A lady came over to us to ask if we had finished even though we clearly didn’t so we politely said sorry not just yet. The music then played loudly then quietly, songs were played 3x on repeat, ads were played- all of this a little frustrating.. we did still cut our meal short and my partner went to pay at 9:45 (1.15 Hr in total we stayed for a starter and main with wait times inbetween, I definitely don’t think that’s long enough) The lady by the counter turned to my partner and said ‘there is a 10% service charge added to the bill which you have to pay, but you can also pay the people here who stayed behind for you some extra money’ I couldn’t believe it! My partner did in fact leave extra and we went home.
Safe to say this left a slight sour taste in our mouth, especially for our one year anniversary!
Sorry, but don’t think we’ll be back.
