I came in to watch the football and there was lots of screens which was nice, the pub was extremely clean, last but certainly not least the food was out of this world very affordable but very very very tasty. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Popped in for lunch on a Saturday and managed to find a table easily. It's an order at the bar service which was fine as we were served swiftly by a very friendly gentleman. The food arrived quickly and was well cooked. For the price...we paid it was superb. I would have no hesitancy in visiting again.More
Visited the other day for the first time at lunch. Amazing greeting from staff, so friendly and chatty. Great staff interaction at the bar was so nice to be able to order from them and see all the drinks choices and get advice on what...drink went with what choice.
Really lovely environment will def visit again.More
We visited yesterday on a whistle stop tour of Ely. The bar and seating area was lovely and clean and each booth had it's on TV for the football, which is an excellent idea to help maintain social distancing. One lady showed us to a...choice of tables and within a minute someone else was with us to take drinks.
Unfortunately, my husband left his brand new trousers in one of the booths and this morning, after a quick call to Simon, the duty manager the will be posted to us.
We will be returning to Ely and we will certainly put the Hereward on our list for lunch.More
Horrible food and very poor service.
I decided to have lunch in here as I was waiting for a return bus from my trip into Ely. My experience started well with a very attentive member of staff greeting me at the door and explaining the...covid rules that were in place and then showing me to a table. The table was dirty so he wiped it with a wet cloth and then proceeded to put a paper menu onto the wet table.
After a few minutes a female member of staff came over to take my order I ordered my food and drink. She came back three times to check my order and tell me that they didn’t have certain parts of the advertised food. Very quickly my food arrived. I then noticed a dog sat beside me which made me feel very uncomfortable. It seemed to be a regular in there as all the staff kept coming over to pet it and at one point even brought food over for him.
The burger I ordered was very greasy and nothing like what I had asked for.
In all a very poor experience if you want to go somewhere to eat and have a dog sit beside you this is the ideal place but for me never again there are far better places to eat in Ely I’m sureMore
Brilliant impromptu beer. Staff are great, greeted nicely on entrance and was explained all the rules. Service was exceptional and I particularly liked that I was asked if I was interested in having a follow up drink without having to wait. Atmosphere is great, good...background music and plenty of TVs to keep up with the sports. Dog friendly which I really like.More
Our organising started visiting the Hereward Ely last year as a group.
We were made very welcome by the friendly helpful pleasant happy staff.
We had drinks & meals and the food was excellent as was the beer.
We liked our visit here and the...way we were welcomed by the staff that much that we continued to make this a regular thing every 2 weeks.
We were interrupted by us all going into lockdown and we could not wait for lockdown to finish so we could get back their again.
We are now back as lockdown finished and intend to go here every week for beer and food as we all love it.
Giving our present state with covid 19 at the moment we are all very impressed with the safety measures in place here at this pub & do all to Co operate with the staff for the benefit of us all and wish this venue success for the future and our thanks to all.
