Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The place was okay with a Bayview. Its dinner time when we hopped in so di na enjoy ang bay view. More

Everybody at the Officers wardroom was already a bit tired of our Commissary Steward’s cooking so we opted to try Pupung’s Grill which was just several kilometers away. Ambience was okay and food was good. Their own version of the Filipino pinakbet is probably the...best that I’ve tried so far. The rest of their appetizers and entree were okay. Everything in their menu was really affordable too. Will definitely visit this place again soon.More

Place have nice food to eat plus a nice view to take pictures because it is located beside the sea. The food is quite pricey that is almost the same price as what other commercialized restaurants are.

Simple but good place for the authentic dish. It is near the seaside with a good view of the Mariveles Bay.

We often have our lunch, dinner and KTV here at Pupungs and its so great! The food is tooo good but a little bit pricey. However, you will be mesmerized by the good ambiance, services and most of all the view straight to Mariveles Bay,...where you can have a vivid view of the sea and the ports along the coastal area... A place to visit and dine when you drop by at Mariveles.More

During our visit in Mariveles, we decided to dine here because of the distance of this place to the bus terminal, and the view of the sea. However, i was quite disappointed because the place is not ventilated, and there a lot of flies in...the area. Food is just average. Good thing I can say is that this place serves Japanese food such as ramen, which is different from the food offered by Jollibee and nearby food stalls.More

We enjoyed a delicious and reasonably priced lunch here starting with melt-in-the-mouth tuna sashimi and salmon sashimi followed by some sizzling beef. On our return the next evening the staff went out of their way to seat us by the water despite the restaurant being...full. We tried the specialty, Crispy Pata, tender pork with crackling skin and the scrumptious Adobong Kangkong with Garlic...a new vegetable for us. Everything was great. We will definitely go there again.More

Pupung has the same owner of Hap Chan, and this restaurant is always changing in a better way. When this restaurant was opened, it did not offer any Japanese food, but now it offers, not authentic, but Japanese one. Some dishes were good, others not....Okonomiyaki was OK, but tempura not. Tempura was rather sticky, which indicates the temperature of frying was low. We ordered sushi, at least, was edible. But unagi was rather dangerous, which had some strange smell and taste. Do not order shushi here if you want to avoid a problem next day. There were so many customers, which reflects the recent development of Mariveles.More

The place is a good to chill and they offer Filipino Food choices. On the other side is a Japanese Restaurant. The grill is fronting the Mariveles Bay. Recommended for casual dinning.

My friends and I went on a road trip with no solid itinerary. Just packed our bags and drove. We were searching for a good place to eat when we chance upon this restaurant. It's located near The Death March Marker. Initially, we hesitated eating...here because of some of the comments placed for this place. Since, my friends and I are up for an adventure, we tried and we were not disappointed. The place has a good ambiance, the service is good, and most of all the food is great!More

Sinangag tastes good and their Halo Halo is good for a cheap price. A nice place to chill at night with their live bands.
