Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delightful evening, we sat outside on a beautiful evening, service was excellent. The menu was an interesting mix of Greek and Italian specialties. Pasta dish and the lamb cutlets were both perfect, starters and desserts all delicious. We'll return to continue to explore the menu.

Wow, what a find. Excellent food, fast & easy with a kids menu & colouring pencils to keep them busy. Would definitely recommend

By far one of the best meals we have had in New Zealand. The portions are large, so you may want to share. We couldn’t stop eating. We had the calamari, chicken Slovakia, octopus, and gyros and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable...with an outdoor patio or lots of indoor seating. Worth the trip to get there.More

Okay, arrived at a lovely fresh resturant on a sunny day and wow, clean crisp and friendly staff, a great start. Shared a calamari entree between 2, 8 large rounds cooked to perfection, honestly, I should have got 2 of these and a salad and...I would have been treated like a foodie. Had he El Greco special, large chips and two delicious wraps. the wrap was superb the filling plentiful. it was superb. I even took the 2nd wrap home as I was full.More

This by far, was the best meal of our whole trip! We still talk about how good it was. We felt immediately welcomed into the restaurant as if we were family. As we walked in, we were greeted by beautiful aromas of delicious food. The...restaurant is beautiful, bright, and nicely laid out. It was clear they really take pride in their cooking and food. We had the entrée sized calamari, Al Funghi pizza, and patates. The calamari was breaded and cooked to perfection. Probably the best calamari I have had in my whole life. The pizza was packed full of flavour and had a gorgeous cheese pull. The patates were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Absolutely incredible. The bathroom was clean. If we didn’t live across the planet, we would probably go here every week. 10/10 recommend.More

Not sure what all the fuss is about. It’s big portions of v average pasta. Go to Italy and you will see how true Italian pasta dishes are served. V little sauce And lots of taste. This just isn’t the case.

Where do I start? Went here for a birthday dinner. An unpleasant experience for the whole family - we ordered our mains and drinks from sticky, dirty menus. Not only were these and table not clean the service was quite off putting. Pushy staff for...us to order more than we were willing to eat when we said no to starters their attitude changed to being rude and dismissive. Food portions were generous though food was not at all pleasant, tasteless and fish was hard to stomach. Hard to believe the pricing after receiving the meals and seeing the bill. We enjoy going out to eat, so initially did not waver at prices - though it was after tasting the food we found the prices did not reflect the service or quality of the food. We have been here a few times a few years back and it was a completely different experience. Unfortunately we will not return. My advice would be, there are a lot of nice places around - spend your money elsewhere!More

This suburban restaurant wins by default because it is a BYO. You’ll often find it full because of this being one of not many BYO’s in Auckland. Apart from that it is an extremely average restaurant. Pizzas are probably your best option. Starting with a...platter and dips which arrived with a couple of slices of soggy doughy pizza bread and FOUR MULTI GRAIN ARNOTTS CRACKERS ? Never seen anything like it anywhere but to go out and pay for this was nothing short of insulting. How do these people entertain at home if this is how the present food at there restaurant? The main meals were as confusing and disappointING, chicken breast with frangelico sauce and cashew nuts 🧐 no it does not work. I could go on describing all the meals but in a nutshell not good at all .More

Unfortunately it was avg The decor is odd and boring and lacks ambience . We got a table outside in a plastic covered area . Wasn’t good The entre of scallops was nice but $18 for 4 scallops and that’s it x scallops and sauce..., hmmm The salad had way to much dressing and was sour and was a 5/10. The pizza was a 6.5/10 , was sweet when it shouldn’t have been . Was A bit soggy too, and yes I’ve eaten a lot of pizzas and call myself a pizza officianado. My spicy Tomato juice wasn’t spicy , after they forgot more order The wife’s wine was nice , but overall i was quite disappointed $37 for a pizza too , that’s too much even in our inflation ridden country. Last time I’ll go there It was busy , which it shouldn’t be with this level of quality and food Overatted !!!!! Won’t go backMore

Tried El Greco today, following recommendations. Had the Meze. The Meze is supposed to be for 4 people, but we don’t think it would have fed four unless very small portions. It was right for 2 people. Top tip if going on a Sunday -...go at 2pm! It was like the place emptied after the lunch rush. So if you aren’t in a rush, go a little later and it’s so much better.More

Lovely place and Saturday staff are much better than the weekly staff, who don't seem to be that interested. Sat on the patio (enclosed) and was lovely but they have tried to pack in too many tables and space is claustrophobic. Food is excellent even...if a little expensive.More

Visited the place with 15 friends for dinner, we booked before arrival. Positives: The salad was excellent ! Ice coffee was excellent. Negatives: A gyros that was filled with chips ? Really ? I paid for a gyros. The meat in the gyros did not...taste good. The place has very small square tables, people are jammed into the restaurant. Seven people had to stand up, so one person can go to the toilet. Crazy noisy, so zero ambience. To top it off, they wanted us to pay one bill for 15 people, which is just nonsense. In summary: Sadly, after visiting many great Greek restaurants over the years, I felt that this place is not one I would want to return to. Many others felt the same at table, they did not like the service, the food, the noise and the other issues.More
