I have visited The Good Home about 3-4 times this year for both drinks and food and have been consistently very happy. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Service was a little slow when I went around New Years for lunch but I got the impression...they were quite short staffed as has been reported a lot in hospitality lately. I have tried the Thai Beef Salad and the Salmon Salad recently and both were excellent. When I took a little person they were super happy with the spaghetti and meatballs. It’s been a while since I had one of their pizzas but I remember them being very good as well. Drinks menu is large and they seem to have regular cocktail changes. A great local spot that hosts regular local events. Lovely outdoor area and is dog friendly.More

I took my family here for lunch. Weather was excellent so we took 2 tables outside. Dog friendly and they even have treats. Great service and the food was wonderful. In my opinion it is excellent value for money. I will go back next time...I am in NZ.More

Absolutely grand food, Service super good, Staff friendly and obliging. Meals value for money, hot and good serves, even children's meals were great!! Highly recommend Good Home and would visit more!

Spent some time here at the Good Home in Howick during my recent visit to Auckland. Very clean and friendly staff. Food was very impressive along with the people dining during my time here. Found the Room to be very comfortable and warm. Will stay...here again in future on my next visit.More

Took wife and granddaughters out for dinner last night, didn’t book just arrived and where warmly greeted at the door, showed our covert passports etc, and were seated straight away even though it looked very busy, good menu to choose from, super fast service, and...very attentive. Really nice food, good value for money, plenty of easy local parking, very pleasing experience….More

Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Had Steak main and Tuna main. With a side of mash. Great flavours, tuna perfectly cooked. Will definitely return

We were staying with family in Howick village who suggested this pub. Nice courtyard to front of building. Free sun cream was a nice touch. Comfortable and spacious bar area. Not too busy when we visited. We ordered sliders (3 mini burgers), portion of wedges...and Katsu chicken. Good range of craft beers. Recommend mac-a three wolves pale ale.More

One of our party of 4 had a great meal, the rack (albeit just 3 chops) of lamb, other not so (the pulled pork and beef burger not great. Thought the pork and beef were going to be separate but the pork was in the...beef patty, my error maybe but a bit odd tasting). Service was at times a bit too keen but overall very good, I guess you would c all this a gastropub rather than a restaurant so overall it was OK but wont be rushing back. Drinks are expensive imho. Went there another time just for drinks and was surprised at cost of a round for 8 of us (over $100).More

We had a family celebration here. The Good Home is a well known pub and restaurant in Howick, Auckland. It is warm and friendly and on this occasion we had a party of 10 and were given a secluded nook in the venue, called the...library. There is a children’s menu as well as an adult menu and extensive drinks list. The restaurant serves pizzas as well as tapas, starters and main courses. I had the venison which was cooked to perfection and very tasty. A good spot for a brunch or dinner as a couple or in a family group. Plenty of parking close by. We were here on a Saturday night so it was abuzz with people, but we had space to chat and engage with the people in our party.More

I really feel that I need to write this post as the service at this restaurant has gone downhill. I don't want to make friends there any more as I don't know what to expect. On Tuesday night I went there with friends. In the...beginning, we were offered water and drinks. All good. However, not once did they come to top up the water and I was unable to get their attention. In the end, I got up and found a metal jug with water in it and I filled up our glasses. The staff even saw me do this. Even worse I ended up doing it four times! Not once did they offer any more alcohol to anyone, other than to come to us at about 9 pm to say that it was the final call for drinks from the bar. So disappointing.More

Friday lunch with 12 girls to celebrate a special Birthday. The Good Home did a great job of getting all the meals out at the same time- not easy when there are so many. I picked pan fried fish with a salsa, pesto & tomatoes,...it was delicious. Good selection of wines Mocka was yum but could have been hotter. A fun long lunch.More

I was up here on Saturday night and the bouncer struggled to remove this troublemaker apparently the cops were called never saw them in fact never saw a cop all night even when then troublemaker and his associate got in their car both drunk and...drove off, wont be back.More
