We just discovered this little gem yesterday and it was over the top amazing. The decor and atmosphere at Soulfood was very inviting. Many many unique food and drink choices we must return to try more. We tried the Thai red curry mussels. They were...the best I’ve ever tried. The GF / VG cold Asian noodle salad was great as were the Brussels sprouts. The chipotle fish taco as were spicy and yummy. The special margarita was different and also very tasty. Lots of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. A great restaurant for your next stop in Cranbrook.More

We love the farm to table concept and we wanted to love this place but it was a huge disappointment. From the start, all the coctails were horrible. The two margs came out tepid, neat and with no rim. The waitress forgot my beer until...after my meal was done. In terms of the burger, it was completely underseasoned and was mushy in consistency. No carmelization on the burger whatsoever. They basically put a big ball of meat in the oven and called it a burger. With respect, the chef needs to learn the chemistry of how light seasoning affects food and brings out natural taste. In fact all the food was the same. All poorly seasoned and without taste. The salmon was fresh but was overcooked. The best thing on the plate was the local vegetables. The wait staff was so disorganized that they brought out other peoples meals to us at least 3 times. I've been to amazing farm to table before and this was not even close. Poor cooking. Poor service. We will never go again. As a foodie, I was so disappointed.More

Funky vibe, outstanding food ( go for the albacore tuna entree...to die for), Friendly, very efficient service. Great prices. Awesome local beer suggestions. A total winner! ps Not sure why it's called "Soulfood" . No chitlins--luckily that part of the pig was not offered!

Great service but the food has sort of gone downhill especially considering the price. The joy of Soulfood used to be its uniqueness and pride in supporting local farmers, but now it just tastes like mr. mike’s. Not that Mr Mikes’s is bad in any...sense, but for those prices I expect better.More

My brother took my wife and I here and we were surprised to find an excellent soul food meal. A varied assortment of meals but my fish tacos hit the mark and the Gochujang braised chicken sandwich was loved by my wife and brother. Another...awesome server and let me add service in Canada is soooo much better than 21 years ago. If you are looking for jambalaya or a gumbo you will have to go elsewhere.More

I've had good meals here but now too many bad meals. Went today for the brunch and basically was served a plate full of potatoes ... for $23. Tiny, tiny portions of everything else. Had to wait way too long too, 20-30 minutes just for...the coffee. A few months ago had to return various meals because they were cold ... and last time I ordered the huevos rancheros they served the eggs on tortilla chips. Not impressed for the price range.More

How can I express how amazing this place is??? Where to start? Not only is it cute inside, but it is family friendly, has outdoor patio, and AMAZING quality food. After eating at many restaurants with the usual burger and fries kinda food, we were...ready for something healthier with a larger veggie portion. Every item sounded delicious but we decided to have the Thai noodles bowl with tofu and root veggies with chicken. wow! So good and I feel like a human again. I will be sure to come again and try all the items on the menu. You may have convinced us to move to Cranbrook!More

We came for breakfast this morning, everything on the menu looked delicious (a huge advocate for farm to table). We both ordered the breakfast poutine, presentation wise 5stars it looked stunning (well done). However asked to add vegetables and aside from the microgreens we were...quite disappointed with the few bits of green peppers and mushrooms (that we paid extra for) , it basically was a bowl of potatoes with a cheesy sauce and two eggs and a very tiny amount of ham. It tasted good for a few bites but the texture content was shortly enjoyed. Will be back for different menu options but worth seeing how too vamp this up a bit, for 50cdn expected a bit more than 4 eggs and 4 potatoes. Appreciate you being back open for dining after the economy hit, and hopefully you take this as positive criticism. Also our server was lovely.More

We came here twice on our visit to Cranbrook and the dinner was amazing. I had the steak and you cannot go wrong with that choice!! AMAZING. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The next morning we came for Sunday Brunch and it...was a lovely brunch as well! Great atmosphere, great service and GREAT food.More
