Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Damn they make good pies. A city tour I was on took us to this cafe and I got a beef pie and it was so good. It was my first day in New Zealand for a 16 day trip and I have yet to...find a pie as good as the one I got here and I've been to a pie place every single day in multiple cities. Get this pie.More

We stopperd here on a Bush and Beach tour of Auckland and its surrounding area. For a small cafe they offered a wide selection of sweet treats and ice cream. They were also pet and kid-friendly.

We when here for lunch while waiting to meet some friends and we quite happy about the food, it was very good, I had the BLT and my wife the Calamari and they both were better than we expected out of a beach front cafe....That said, it was quite expensive, But the setting was amazing, the food was great and the service was great so sometimes the good outweighs the bad. Very much worth eating there. CheersMore

Narrow Neck Beach is a beautiful spot a bit off the well-beaten path between Takapuna and Devonport. And just back a bit from the beach is the Narrow Neck Beach Cafe. The hard-working owners are putting out some excellent food. My dining companion ordered poached...eggs on toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the sourdough toast was fresh and flavorful. I ordered one of the tasty-looking pies that are made fresh on the premises every day. I ordered mince and cheese, but when I put my fork into it, the pie was actually chicken in a creamy sauce. I told the server and they not only brought me a mince and cheese pie, but they told us to have the chicken pie without charge. As I tucked in the savory mince and cheese pie, my dining companion, who had always turned up her nose at pies, tasked the chicken and loved it. She commented on the tender flaky crust and the big chunks of all white meat chicken. Now that she has a taste for good Kiwi pies, we will definitely be back to the Narrow Neck Cafe.More

Absolutely loved this little cafe perched a few metres from Narrow Neck beach. Nice home made pies quiches cakes flapjacks biscotti good coffee. Sandwiches. I started with a bacon and egg quiche with a fresh green salad then tried their flap jack (twice). Yummy. Then...their biscotti with fresh coffee. There are papers and mags to read. The next time I’ll try their full breakfast at 23NZ$. They do poached egg on toast and good wholesome eats. They sell fizzy drinks and have free water in bottles. You have to use the beach facilities a short stroll from the cafe. They have home made sausage rolls and so many lovely things. You are spoilt for choice. It’s clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. They also have free Wi-fi. What’s not to like. Tables and seating are basic. But hey who cares! Love it.More

Location location. Grab an ice cream or coffee and even hot chips ( which are also great ) and relax on an outside table with a peep of the sea or walk a bit and wander along the beach. Great location, friendly helpful staff.

We pulled into the narrow Neck Cafe on a Sunday morning during a cycle ride around the Devonport area when the thunder rolled and the skies opened up. We were welcomed with a smile and within minutes were reading the paper at one of the...outside tables with one of their very thoughtfully provided "blankies" across our knees. The coffees were good and the little vegetarian quiches were very tasty. An all-round good experience.More
